  1. When Low was replaced, I posted that I thought Caldwell would find it very difficult to stay on as our manager if we had a bad run. I didn't think our current board would hesitate to get rid of him. My only concern was the stories about the pay off he would require.
  2. It will be one small step for jags, one giant leap for Jagskind.
  3. Agree with you regarding our 'performance' on Saturday, a disgrace. But since we are bottom of the league, we cant go any lower. Before the start of the season in conversation with my Brother in law who is a Morton fan, I said I expected top 4 this season. After Saturday I now feel not getting relegated will be success.
  4. Time to get back to the basics and do the simple things. I think from what I have read Caldwell over complicated matters. Welcome back to McCall. The only way is up. We cant go any lower.
  5. Ran out of likes. Both posts spot on. Caldwell's legacy is to leave the team in a worst state than it was when he first came in.
  6. I must admit I was not impressed when I heard that he was to be our new manager. The reason for that was his record with Wigan and Chesterfield. After his first 6 games when we only managed 1 point I was sure we had made a mistake. Then it improved a bit and after the January window we went a run that would have got us top 4 if we would have replicated it for the whole of the season. I was happy enough he was still in charge for this season and hoped we would continue the form we had shown in the second half of last season. But after only getting 2points from 5 games to start this season, I think the writing was on the wall for another poor season. Whoever the manager is I will always back them and the team as I have done for over 50 years now.
  7. I said this yesterday and I will say it again. The new rule about playing the ball in the box from a bye kick does not work for us. We either end up losing the ball near our box or a hurried punt away because we get closed down quickly. Dunfermline stuck with the old just punt it up and see what happens. We should get back to that until our players work out how do it and not just give the ball away in front of our goal.
  8. Listening to Scott Allison he seems to think we will have a new manager in very soon. I really feel he speaks well, no bull and would like to see him getting a position in the new managerial set up for the first team.
  9. You can disagree with what Gerry Britton has done, but to suggest he is not intelligent/knowledgeable is uncalled for.

I think all the supporters believed. The players didn't.
  11. Hope he doesn't see 'highlights' of that shambles today.
  12. I notice Gerry Britton has mentioned on a few occasions about getting the right one in. Is he also wrong to use that phrase?
  13. Lets hope the donkeys improve when we get a new manager in.
  14. He has also read Caldwell saying the current Thistle squad(who are currently bottom of the league)are good enough for promotion. No brainer then.

Sorry I encouraged you to go to the game today. That was dire. If you are out with the spouse at least you will have a better night.
  16. Preparing for his next interview. Any club who takes him on deserves everything they get. He should come with a warning,'This manager will damage your club'. Watched his legacy today. Only signs players with a certain character.
  17. This new rule of being able to play about in the area with a bye kick is hopeless for us. We do it at most bye kicks and we end up with a hurried boot up the park or we lose possession near our goal. Dunfermline just took their bye kicks the old way time we got back to that.
  18. I watched the Rugby world cup game between New Zealand and South Africa before I went to the game. The first 20minutes of the rugby game South Africa had all the possession, but only 3points up. By the 28 th minute New Zealand were 17-3 up. Our game to me was similar we had the majority of the possession in the first 20minutes, without really troubling them. Once they scored the heads in the Thistle side went down and as soon as they were 2 up game over. This is Caldwell's legacy, he took over a struggling team and when we thought he could not leave us with a worse team, he has. Don't know who can sort this mess out. Good thing about today, spoke to @partickthedog and also @Big Col.
  19. Good post. I see it is only your second post. Welcome to the forum.
  20. Ran out of likes. Speak to the last board they worked with and ask if they did support them with the budget they wanted.
  21. Its going to be a great day weather wise. Lets hope for a good crowd, with a similar atmosphere to last Sunday. Most of all we need the players to show what they can do, after all their future manager may be in the stand watching them.
  22. Kerr has managed a male team. She managed Stirling University in the Lowland league.
  23. Time to play , spot the unemployed managers at Firhill tomorrow. Then let the rumours begin.
