  1. We are all down after yesterday, but imo the much bigger prize is still to be won.If we can beat Morton on wednesday we will almost be there. So lets get right behind the team and give them our vocal support. But remember there will be more media focus than usual on wednesday so no pitch invasions if we do win.I hope the management team are telling the players the same and we have to keep our head for this game and the rest of the season. As posted elsewhere the opposition know our players will lash out if provoked and that is the last thing we need.Only 6 games left and at the most 4 wins would get us promotion. We can do it.
  2. I do not think we have won the league.Morton were 8pts ahead of us although we had 3games in hand.So it is by no means over yet.I am not preaching to anyone. We have had Morton fans on this forum talking as if they had already won the title and some of our fans were doing the same.
  3. A win at Raith and we are almost there. If we lose it is back in the melting pot our results against Morton are the diffirence at the moment a few more points against them and it would have been all but won by now.Iam hoping we are in the position of a victory against them on the 10th will just about win it for us.
  4. We have now got ourselves into poll position in the league, but some on this forum are talkining as if we have won it.We have a very difficult game tomorrow and if we were to lose and Morton win against Airdrie on Saturday we are down to only one point in it.I feel which ever one of us dont go up they will struggle for a few years as they will probably lose thier best players and have a hangover and suffer a downturn in crowds. So lets wait until we win the league before we start talking about next season and hopefully we will see Morton fans having to eat some humble pie before this season is over.
  5. My son is a wheelchair user and he has been going to the North stand this season and after using the enclosure in front of the old stand for years being able to use the North stand this season is a vastly improved experience.Helped by being in amongst the crowd and loves it when we score at the North stand end as we can see the players celebrations close up.You ask thoughts?I just hope that neither you or any of your family ever need to use a wheelchair because i can asure having to walk 3 deep is nothing compared to what a wheelchair user has to put up with everday. As for my other thoughts if i put them down iwould not be allowed on this forum again.  :angry3: :angry3:
  6. The SPL is a mess no matter what shape it takes, but iwould always want Thistle to play at the highest possible level.I fear what team we could end up with next season if we dont get promotion.I think we could lose all our best players and end up with a team that would struggle,We dont even know who the manager will be next season.I also feel if Morton win the league it will be a missed oportunity as i really didnt think that they would finish above us before the start of the season.Finaly once again we could finish second and once again we might as well have finished 6th again for all the good it does
  7. 6pts a must out of theese 2games and we really need to start winning away from home as well .Morton are on a run at the moment that usualy ends in promotion.I fear what will happen to us if we dont go up as i think we will lose our best players and we dont even know who the manager will be.
  8. What is happenining re league reconstruction, after a few weeks of meetings and claims that we would have leagues of 12,12 & 16.It has went quite again.Surely if as was reported this was to happen for the start of next season.Something will need to be decided soon,or is it a case of they will still be talking about it in a few years time with nothing changed?
  9. Why? We have only won 2 away games all season.I know it will be very difficult to win next week, but because we havent won games away from home that we would expect to we are now in this position.Yes we have 3games in hand but 2 are away from home.
  10. Imo we need to win next week.A draw would keep us 8pts behind with no room for any mistakes by us.I know it is a big ask but our poor away form has put us in this position. The last time we won away from home was last September.Imo if we dont win next week we will not win the league.
  11. Is 2012/13 going to be the season we should have won the league part2
  12. Why is my post over reactionary? or talking nonsense?I am only saying how i see it.
  13. If i was told that we would be in third position at this time of the year before the season started i would have said great, but after the start we had picking up 2pts from our last 4games is a concern.Imo this is where we now find out how good the manager and team are,as i feel when a team is on a bad run the good managers will stop the decline quicker. It has been said in previous seasons about the league being there for the taking, but i really feel that this is the case about this season and if we were to lose out this season i think we would look back on this bad run as where we lost it.The other thing about this league is unless you win it,it doesnt really matter where you finish as there is no play offs and not a big financial diffirence either.Imo next 2 games we must get 6pts from or our season is finished.
  14. Imo our away form will cost us any chance of winning this league.must improve and a win on Saturday is a must. The red cards arent helping either.
  15. I dont think anybody would have expected us to be second at this point of the season,or Morton to be top.Our last 2 results have been dissapointing, although with a bit of luck we would have won on wednesday.Every team will have a bad run and at the momement it is us and Dunfermline.Imo Morton will also have a bad run at some point(if they dont they could go no and win the league by a good margin).I feel this is where our management team now prove if they are as good as a lot of fans have been saying.I have looked at the next 4 games for the top 3 and ifeel that Dunfermline have the easiest set of fixtures.Imo there are a number of twists and turns left in this league yet.I do feel a win on wednesday is vital for us,no matter how we do it.If Morton did win the league would they get promotion with Cappielow in its current state or would they need to upgrade or groundshare?
  16. If he is not leaving, the only other explanation imo is he and Jackie have had a falling out.Why else would our top scorer from last season be spending so much time on the bench? The latter stages of the Morton game we needed him on the park not on the bench.
  17. If anybody had said we would be top of the league going into the last game of 2012,i am sure we would have all taken that. The Morton game was dissapointing because it is a game we should have won.I feel this is where jackie and Sid prove they are as good as we all hope they are. They and the team have been getting praise but now is the time to show what we are made of.Lets get a victory against Airdrie and Hamilton and hopefully take it from there and we also still have 2 games to play against Morton this season, lets hope we can get revenge by taking 6pts from them on the way to us winning the league.
  18. Imo the next 4 games will give us a good idea of where we might be.3 at home and 1 away i would be looking for 10pts min if we are hoping to be challenging.
  19. You can support your team even if you are not optimistic.
  20. I think dunfermline will win the league and Airdrie will be bottom . I also think we will finish above Morton and Raith. So i think we will be top 5.
  21. I agree that we have done well in the friendlies, although we lost both closed door games. But i do feel that a few on the forum are getting a bit carried away suggesting we will win the league.Maybe after supporting Thistle for more than 50years as i have done it is hard to get rid of the pesimist in me.I feel with 3 teams coming up from div2 we will not need to worry about relegation. But i do feel it is to early to be talking about us challenging.Lets get of to a good start and take it from there.Remember Morton last season?I feel that this season depending how the SPL clubs are getting on financially there could be a change in the leagues for 2013/14 so the higher we can finish the better.Saturday is our first competitve game and it will be a difficult one but imo it will also give us a better idea of how our season may go than any of our friendlies.
  22. Due to personal circumstances i would only manage to get to tommorows second game.Anybody know if you can get in for just the second game or can you only get in at 12?
  23. I dont think that this has been mentioned anywhere else, but i do not think that any rule has been brung in if another club goes bust and becomes a newco.Surely this has to change so that this endless debate does not happen again and just in case anybody from our board is reading this i think that any newco at best should start in div3 at best. This is not the only reason but remember the double vote to kick us out the SPL..
