    Compensation

So? Lots of managers do it. He doesn't exactly come out smelling of roses with this either, but I doubt he cares!

    Compensation

You do realise that if we denied him permission to speak to them he would probably have just resigned anyway? If a manager wants to leave there is nothing a club can do. Would you have preferred we kept a manager who didn't really want to be here? Get a grip.
  3. Because we have a game on Saturday and, in the absence of the board making a quick appointment before then, we need someone to pick and organise the team. The two most experienced players in the team, one of whom has been coaching the youths and reserves, are the obvious choices to act as caretakers, particularly in the absence of any other coaching staff.
  4. He's been probably our most important player of the year so far, along with Bannigan and Erskine. If Paton were to leave we would seriously struggle to replace him. He has developed into a fantastic player.
  5. He isn't. He has an excellent job outside of football.
  6. Where have you seen this? Rubs salt in the wounds if even our physio is leaving with JM.
  7. Absolutely spot on. Let's cut the doom and gloom. It doesn't exactly help our season but there's no reason why we can't still win the league. Same players, same fans, same Thistle.
  8. Nonsense. It's gutting and hardly helps us, but we aren't going to lose any players before the end of the season and a quick and clever appointment will see us through. Guaranteed he will bring a few of our players with him at the end of the season though. My bets on O'Donnell, Erskine and maybe even Paton.
  9. You seem to spend a lot of time on here telling people what they should and shouldn't post. I find this thread pretty interesting every week. If you don't then don't read it, pretty simple!
  10. Nomads should have 400 tickets set aside for this game IMO.
  11. He wasn't! He clearly had some talent and generated a lot of excitement at the time, but he was also extremely lazy and just simply not as good as we all hoped he would be.
  12. Jacobs really wasn't that good. Also, Mark Stewart is mince. Had a good season or so at Falkirk but that's about it.
  13. Beneath the spiel, that page seems to hint at the fact that they use labour from work-to-welfare programme. Talk of "vocational programmes" etc. Anyone know if this is true? If so, it seems another reason (aside from the terrible quality of their service) to bin Sporting Solutions- these programmes are pretty morally repugnant, providing free labour for companies who can't be bothered paying for it.
  14. Or maybe people were just sitting there thinking "Oh there's some guys from the old board. Ahh nice my starter has arrived. I'm looking forward to this match."
  15. Giving the club money at a time when the hospitality is, frankly, rubbish and in doing so coming to see the team they clearly support? Shocking.
  16. To be fair, he was asking for trouble by running to the barrier at the front, reaching over and screaming abuse at Gallagher (who, to his credit, seemed to find it quite funny). I'm not saying he deserves a life ban (or a criminal charge), but to do what he did was pretty stupid. In any case, I'd imagine that it was the police and not the stewards who dictated how the issue was dealt with.
  17. That isn't what he was doing at all. Look at the highlights from the other thread- he kisses his finger and points at the crowd, as many players do.
  18. As we don't play in a cave, no this isn't what is happening. I really hope the piped noise idea has been shelved for tomorrow.
  19. I agree with your defence of Murray, but O'Donnell was superb yesterday. Never stopped running, put in some excellent tackles and was a threat going forward. You don't need to defend one player by criticising others.
  20. We have lost ONCE in the league this year. You have said elsewhere you have only seen the last two games, so maybe wait until you have seen a few more before writing off our title chances. Jeez.
  21. Murray was stupid to get himself sent off, but can we lay off abusing our own players? Lots of fans today seemed to be intent on having a go at Sinclair too, numpties. We lost two sloppy goals today, and the sending off meant it was always going to be an uphill struggle. However we played some good stuff at times against a team of long-ball merchants, there was plenty of effort from the players and on another day we would have won the game well. We have done exceptionally well this season, but we were always going to lose at some stage- it's how we respond to it that matters. I have every faith that we will still have a very successful season.
  22. Scotland would have finished 11th because Team GB did so fantastically, and the reason Team GB did so fantastically has everything to do with investment, i.e. the Lottery funding that has been pumped into UK sport (both at an elite and grassroots level) over the past decade or so.
