  1. Pretty even 1st half apart from their the goal which was a defensive mistake. Fitzpatrick had another good chance just before the break but hit it at the keeper. Arbroath played a high press and found plenty gaps in the midfield. Great finish again by Fitzpatrick to give us a buffer and we took control from then on. Couldn’t believe Adeloye missed that first chance. It was as big a howler as Sneddon’s on Tuesday. His 2nd miss wasn’t quite as big a howler. He did well with his other two tap ins, though. Was a bit worried when Williams replaced Muirhead that we would concede. Liked the look of McBeth when he came on. He got involved and wasn’t afraid to put in a tackle. Fitzpatrick,Bannigan and Neilson were the standouts for me and Stevie didn’t fade as much in the second half.
  2. I think you are right, but having said we needed a defensive midfielder, signing one and not playing him would be a bit baffling.
  3. It’s not unusual for major shareholders to have seats on boards. In any case the appointment isn’t permanent. If it isn’t working, it will change. There have been plenty already.
  4. You would think that he would need to give McBeth some decent amount of game time tomorrow either from the start or from the bench. Either way, I guess Stanway would be the one to give way.Graham usually struggles at this time of year, so maybe he could do with a rest too.
  5. In the other two, we lost an early goal and didn’t win.
  6. You are more than likely right. However, last 3 games we have been slow out the blocks. Hope it isn’t a trend.
  7. Started the same way as against Dundee Utd without conceding. We seem to start slowly every game. I thought Fitzpatrick was pretty anonymous in the 1st half but much better 2nd half. Stevie, the reverse. Maybe it’s something about playing on the JH side as it seems to happen each time at Firhill. QP hardly troubled us but still managed to score twice due to Sneddon’s howler and Muirhead’s needless tackle. It was good to get the win.
  8. I didn’t assert anything of the sort. I made the logical conclusion that given their new owners probable new investment and our reduced budget of at least £600K that it would be reasonable for them to be above us in the league.
  9. Why do I need data on Raith.
  10. There is data. We know that we had a £600K hole in our 22/23 budget. As I said it is only logical to think that resulted in significant reduction in the 23/24 playing budget.
  11. I am making no pivot. It is logical to think that the Kelty owners took over RR and put some money in. Even if they were just maintaining their budget, what isn’t in doubt is that we were in financial turmoil and again logic dictates that that the playing budget was cut. It’s not what I believe- it’s what makes sense.
  12. I need to provide evidence that the people that owned Kelty took over Raith Rovers at the tail end of last season ?
  13. The problem with 1. Is you won’t remember your resolution when your pished.
  14. There is evidence that DU and Raith would more than likely be better off than us. DU got relegated and have parachute payment. RR got new owners and presumably new investment. We were in a financial mess.
  15. It’s hard to tell how we are doing. Of the 7 teams that were in the league last season and are still in it this season,3 are much worse off points wise than at the same stage last season(QP,Ayr &Morton). ICT are 5 pts worse off and 1 place worse off. Arbroath have a couple more pts but are in the same place. Raith obviously are the big improvers. That leaves us 29 points in 3rd place with + 4 goal difference compared to 27 points in 5th with + 3 goal difference.
  16. If you saw Dundee Utd stats with and without Docherty playing, I think you might change your mind.
  17. I might be mistaken, but I am sure all 3(Fitzpatrick, Tiffoney and Lawless) were starting at the end of the season. Turner would also be a cert to start.
  18. I don’t think Doolan is going anywhere.
  19. It seems to me that both were influential in our success last season and both would be upgrades on our current squad. However, our main need is for somebody to be able to win the ball in midfield.
  20. It’s in the Raith thread. We had one 2 points in the last 15 minutes and lost 7 points. I think ICT had lost the most points(9) in the last 15 minutes.
