  1. And another. Entirely unnecessary and bush league.
  2. Worst case scenario we're still earning 630k more than last season. Even if gates were down as a result (which they won't be FYI) the revenue the club will earn in 13/14 will easily dwarf that of 12/13. http://sport.stv.tv/...ction-revealed/
  3. Saw Andy Gibson play for Glasgow Perthshire against Glenafton yesterday, he had a cracking game. Scored one and set another up, although he did miss his penalty in the shootout.
  4. When we were busting a gut to get the North stand ready for the March 31st deadline in 2002, ground sharing was explicitly not an option. In fact, two years later when ICT managed to scadge their way into the league by playing at Pittodrie the rules were changed to say you could in fact groundshare, with the restriction that you could only play at one ground for the whole season. Amazingly the rules were changed yet again when their own ground was up to standard and they were allowed to play in Inverness.
  5. As long as they play Sylvia at 2:45.
  6. I appreciate the effort being put in to improve the atmosphere and the move to the North stand is a big positive but this is another no vote regarding relaying the chanting etc. The sound travels perfectly fine from the North stand without it being rebroadcast from a shrill speaker right in front of your seat in the JHS.
  7. Crowds will generally react to meaningful games, of which there's been very few at firhill in the past few years. Adding a SPL 11th/D1 2nd/3rd/4th playoff would make such a massive difference to our division it's not even funny. Look at it now, you'd have County, Falkirk & Dundee going for the title and us, Hamilton, Livi and Morton scrapping for a playoff place.
  8. When I did it (about 97-99 I think) I was always behind the city end goal, Kenny Arthur was always telling us whether to slow down or hurry up late in the 2nd half depending on the score at the time. Maybe there's a lack of communication between our current squad and the ball boys? I think a trip to maryhill McDonalds is in order.
  9. Most of the seasons are on Soccerbase, with full match dates. The ones from the early 90s I took from the Thistle history book. http://www.soccerbas...eamTabs=results Of those seasons, only the 2002-03 had a game less than a week prior to the 26/27/28th game, so they played 4 games in 12 days that season.
  10. I can't remember thistle playing more than two games over the festive period, certainly in the last 15 years or so. Edit: Shows how good my memory is, we've played three games as recently as the 2008-09 season. 2008-09 - Sat (27), Tue (30), Sat (3) 2005-06 - Mon (26), Sat (31), Mon (2) 2004-05 - Mon (27), Wed (29), Sat (1) 2002-03 - Thu (26), Sun (29), Thu (2) 2000-01 - Tue (26), Sat (30), Sat (2) 1996-97 - Thu (26), Wed (1), Sat (4) 1991-92 - Sat (28), Wed (1), Fri (3) Every other season since 1990 we've played 2 or less games.
  11. I can't believe people think there's anything positive that can come out of this. First of all try and imagine what a tonne (that's 1000kg, 2200lbs) of clothes piled up would look like. That's a absolute sh1tload of clothes. And for all that collecting the club gets £400. Hardly life changing is it? Compared to the what the club could lose in terms of perception & PR it's mind boggling to me that the board would happily go along with this. It's the kind of thing you'd expect a Scout troupe or a boy's club to do, not a professional football club. Are the club going to send the players to supermarkets to do bag packing next? If this was a scheme ran by a charity where the clothes would go to a good cause, then that's fair enough. But to effectively be an agent for a jumble & bric-a-brac collector for a few coppers is a disgrace.
  12. Mention in the Airdrie & Coatbridge Advertiser that we're after EK Thistle's Barry Russell.
  13. I sat just behind the away dugout at Ibrox the game where James Grady scored a consolation goal right at the death. Watching games in the other 'end' is fine, just keep your tongue in your head and remember where you are.
  14. Pollokshaws East is right next to the ground.
  15. What's on the page? An audio report? All I get is the side & top menus with an ad for their facebook page. Edit: Got it working on IE rather than firefox. That is so completely pointless. Why bother to film a match report if you don't even make a single attempt to look into the camera?
  16. He's only had 15 league starts in the last four seasons, that would worry me.
  17. They were promoted in 69-70 as we were relegated. We went back up the following season, and they were relegated. 1969-70 - Division 1, Division 2 1970-71 - Division 1, Division 2
  18. First time we've been in the same league as them since 1933-34. Quite the stat that, considering our ups and downs in the last 15 years. I've never been to Central Park, looking forward to the trip next year.
  19. From what I saw of the game Falkirk deserved to go down. Absolutely wretched football, zero invention. They played the same high ball into the middle of the box every time they gained possesion in Killie's half for the last 15 mins. They'll fit in well in the first division.
  20. End of current contract in brackets. Goalkeepers Bryn Halliwell (2010) Craig Hinchliffe (2010) Ryan Scully (2011) Graeme Shepherd (2011) Jonny Tuffey (2010) Defenders Alan Archibald (2011) Partick Boyle (2011) Ryan Conroy (2010) Martyn Corrigan (2010) Willie Kinniburgh (2011) Kyle Lochead (2011) Ian Maxwell (2010) Ross McGeouch (2011) Paul Paton (2011) John Robertson (2011) Colin Stevenson (2011) Midfielders Stuart Bannigan (2011) Paul Cairney (2012) Jamie Campbell (2011) Mark Corcoran (2011) Simon Donnelly (2010) Chris Erskine (2011) Bryan Hodge (2011) Ryan MacBeth (2011) David Rowson (2011) Forwards Liam Buchanan (2011) Kieran Burns (2011) Kris Doolan (2011) Martin Grehan (2012) Scott Tully (2010) Players Out of Contract (as of May 2010) Bryn Halliwell Craig Hinchliffe Jonny Tuffey Ryan Conroy Martyn Corrigan Ian Maxwell Simon Donnelly Scott Tully Source. I have to say I'm surprised at the number of players signed through to the end of next season.
