  1. Swings and roundabouts with fixtures getting moved, I couldn't have made St Mirren if it wasn't on Friday and I wouldn't be going to County either with a 3pm kick off (well I would if we weren't safe but we will be). Hibs against Killie will be the live game.
  2. Slightly off topic but why don't bigger Junior teams want to give the SPFL a go? Pollok for example.
  3. Arsenal, Cardiff, Spurs, Chelsea, Fulham, Sunderland, Southampton, Liverpool, West Ham and Man City all have away fans on view in the corner/behind the goal on the main camera. Probably others too.
  4. There’s a new chip shop opening in what was formerly Jaconelli’s on Maryhill Road in around 3 weeks, I know the family opening it very well and they’ve asked me to post a competition for Thistle fans to name it. If the owners choose your suggested name you win a free fish supper at every home league game next season. The owners are a Thistle family although the name doesn’t have to be Thistle related. It won’t be open in time for the Ross County game unfortunately. It’ll be up and running in time for the play-offs but everyone, including the new owners, are hoping that their first matchday business will be on the opening day of the SPFL season in August. Hint: They already have a chippy called ‘The Codfather’.
  5. Look at how much better Everton are doing this season under Martinez. His signings were crap, he didn't get his good players playing for him and the style of football he played was crap. It's hardly surprising they've sacked him. Does anyone really think David Moyes can get them out of this hole?
  6. It does 'de-value the product' if you have empty seats on TV, Sky realised this when they created football in 1992, people were tuning in for the atmosphere and the people in the posh seats also wanted to hear the atmosphere. The highlights from Killie looked terrible, at the very least if you have the fans out of view pan into a close up after a goal or something. It's common sense that if you are going to have thousands of empty seats you try and conceal it a bit by putting the fans in the places the camera will see.
  7. Destined to do another conga round The Falkirk Stadium on a warm sunny day ensuring a place in the top flight for the following season. Nice.
  8. Terrible decision by Higginbotham not to change the formation when it became clear after 20 minutes our midfield was as solid as a coffee cream.

    Hearts

Early goal and we shoud stick a barrel load past them.
  10. We were very good in the first half apart from the soft goal, we looked dangerous going forward many many times. And the Saville/paedo stuff needs to stop, yeah it was pretty funny when Alan Lithgow turned up at Firhill around the same time as the story broke but it hasn't been funny since, thankfully it isn't part of the weekly repetoire anymore. But how on earth can we take the moral highground and criticise them for their 'folk songs' when a significant minority of Thistle fans spent an inordinate amount of time accusing people of being sex offenders by virtue of being Celtic fans ergo by virtue of being catholic. And for all the issues with the police in general and on Wednesday in particular they didn't arrest any of the Thistle fans down the front of the main stand for belting out this stuff right under their noses either. Anyway, lets all move on.
  11. Yeah for Wednesday but not in general. When Rangers went bust and the press were harping on about Armageddon all the time Pie & Bovril was full of fans providing stats for attendences when the old firm visit and they were pretty unremarkable. Same way our highest attendance this season was against Dundee United. They aren't the cash cow(s) they once were and more and more home fans decide to give it a miss when they come to town.
  12. You don't need TAG for that, you need a simple database for everyone who has ever bought a ticket at Firhill. Why this hasn't been done I have no idea. I still get Denver Nuggets emails going into my Junk folder on a regular basis because I went to a game in 2005. And the reason for doing that isn't to stop old firm fans going in our end (which is rarely ever an issue, Wednesday was exceptional circumstances) but to target communications at lapsed/occasional fans to encourage them to come back in the first place, reminders about games/events, sending out offers, etc.
  13. I'd happily have the singing section in the Main Stand all the time.
  14. I think the days of Celtic fans filling grounds around Scotland has ended since we were last in the SPL. There were an extra 2,500 tickets they could have bought yesterday in the home end but didn't and there were loads of figures flying around at the time of 'Armageddon' along the same lines.
  15. That's because Tuffey wasn't an absolute throbber.
  16. Even Paul Paton isn't stupid enough to think Paul Paton will ever play for Scotland.
