  1. I know, though I would argue Barton was playing well in league two and this Turnbull was playing for a side that got relegated and their fans seem happy to see him go. Anyway, Archie's record with signings from this level is pretty good as you point out, and generally the defence has been improved season upon season, so I do trust him.
  2. To avoid the Dundee Situation wouldn't it make sense to plan the ties even before the group stage draw, like in a Would Cup or Euros?
  3. Doesn't sound like an improvement to me, relegated from League One last season. Then again he is young and probably improving and I saw pretty much no English football last season so can't really judge.
  4. The four teams entering the competition are all seeded, Celtic, Aberdeen, Rangers, St Johnstone. In a round of 16 there was only room for four more seeds, the four group winners with the best records.
  5. Shorts of A and B have a white J logo on red background.
  6. I got absolute pelters for suggesting we should pay Welsh oft but now everyone is fine with Muzzy bring paid off. Welsh did just have a decent season and we were probably right to be loyal to him. In this case, they said Muzzy should be back in two months, so September isn't so bad if he can get up to speed quickly after that.
  7. I like that blue, it looks a little more vivid than the previous blue ones.
  8. We had the YouTube question recently, with a number for and against it. The problem was that the content is available for a price and putting it online free makes that worth less, but there are already teasers posted on Facebook so for me it is a good advertising tool for JagZone. Some of the ideas above are interesting, but I am interested to know how people can prove they aren't a jags fan when they buy a ticket? The one for brining your girlfriend/boyfriend is weird (and also what about guys with boyfriends or girls with girlfriends?) Could I turn up with a mate and say he's my boyfriend to get 2 for the price of 1? Anyway, the point was not to be critical. I like that there are ideas to get new fans along to a game or two. We often focus on making people season ticket holders when that is unrealistic for someone attending no games or only a few currently. Glasgow is a massive city, so even if a small percentage of those in northwest Glasgow all came to a game each, that would increase gate money a fair bit. For this I feel the game needs to be an event or a day out. I don't know how to do this, but the club have tried this with certain games in the past. Giveaways or bigging up certain matches, though we often play badly when these are hyped up! But can we make these events something that can be enjoyed even if the performance is poor?
  9. Thank for the update, great to know where some of the scarves have ended up. Jags fans here...
  10. Together, would you be able to give us an idea of the geographical spread of faraway KR1S D00LAN scarves?
  11. Barton was a good player beging utilised in completely the wrong way by Pompey, a club that would have had players above League Two level.
  12. That isn't the system in Belgium. They use the most bonkers system ever created. 16 team league with playoffs for the championship and playoffs to qualify for a playoff to get in to the qualifiers of the Europa league. I have no idea how Relegation works but there is probably a playoff and a calculator needed. Our system is good for entertainment at the top level. Generally there are teams with things to play for on the final match weeks, maybe not this season but you can say that about Sky's best league in the world TM too. I could not care much less about the potential home/away imbalance and the people who get upset about 7th place having more points than 6th place make me laugh, it is like claiming the team winning the championship should be given a European spot if they have more points than 3rd place in the Premiership. Of course I would like a bigger league, but I don't think that would necessarily result in better entertainment. It would allow clubs to better plan as businesses and allow then to try out youth players potentially resulting in better player development.
  13. I know you have posted on the subject before, but I get annoyed by the definition of an assist. For example, if a player takes a corner to the back post, it gets headed back across the goal and another player puts it away, I feel that both the corner taker and the player who headed it should get an assist. This is how it works in ice hockey. Similarly, if a player takes a shot that is saved and another player scores from the rebound, I feel the first player is due an assist too.
  14. Even if the deal ends, I'm sure we will keep Kingsley. A new sponsor would see the value in keeping him, surely?
  15. I am not sure anyone was being serious about signing any of them. More a comment that looking down the leagues at those performing well, at least in the goal charts, can be very misleading.
  16. Are centre back and keeper the only positions he hasn't played for us? If he gets a testimonial I reckon we stick him in the goal for ten minutes.
  17. Hola is brilliant, it allows you to use streaming services whose content is only available or different in other countries. The problem is it can be slow sometimes but for a free application it does a fantastic job.
  18. Seeing as they visited me in the South of England the past two pre-seasons, they could find a training camp in southern Germany...
  19. Interesting analysis. Why are so many teams below the prediction, is it the number of draws or is it that the model didn't account for the fact that they play each other, using previous points totals only?
  20. You can't have some and not the others, so in my mind they're all jags.
  21. I'm with you on this one. From topics in the past others have seemed to think the likes of Graeme Dorrans or Andy Wilkinson were never Thistle players. For me loan players are as much jags as fully contracted ones.
  22. I would suggest you sign up Jagger. It has been posted recently by Shuggie on here and facebook that it isn't making as much as was expected and the club will have to consider it's future. Signing up for Jagzone would give the club a more steady and anticipated income stream compared with the fundraising activities on here, though I am by no means belittling those efforts.
  23. Reading back to the first page, interesting seeing the varied predictions/expectations. 1JL I think you we're alone in that 15 point prediction but we will now get between 15-21 points from the 9 games pre split. This has been out most consistent season, not just in performances but consistecy with the league table. We generally win or draw against those below us and draw/lose against those above. This is in contrast to other seasons when a lot of the teams around us at the bottom end picked up points from us. I feel some of the Interviews recently where Archie or other players have highlighted the detailed preparation for each game demonstrates why we are where we are.
