  1. I'm afraid I'm happy to admit to being small-minded enough to not give a toss about the co-efficient and take huge delight at the Sellik getting pumped rotten. I can't see my attitude ever changing unfortunately.
  2. Would love to have gone to this but I'm abroad until September. I worked in Belfast for about 10 months in 2010, company rented a flat on that side of the city. Not sure what the area round the ground is like on a match day Ian, but when I was there it was fine. Had a few beers in the Harland and Wolff club which was just along the road, no problems at all. The Northern Ireland supporters club in town is a dive but cheap beer if I remember correctly. A few great boozers all across the city, but there are the usual suspects in the city centre, wetherspoons etc.
  3. That was a brilliant day in Durham, apart from the score.
  4. That's what I was thinking. If his company were capable of doing a good job, and gave the club a good discount then what's the problem? As BowenBoys has said, don't get sidetracked from the more important issue.
  5. It's only a quick ride on the train from Edinburgh to queen st.
  6. A goal here could be worth a lot of money.
  7. That was brilliant, really enjoyed that. I've missed the majority of the 2nd half of the season by working abroad so it's a real pleasure watching all the goals again. Thanks for putting it together David. Sorry for being picky, just before you do your final edit with our 5 goals against Ross County, the date of the previous home win says March instead of April! As I say, sorry for noticing something so small but I'm sure it's something you'd rather was sorted!!
  8. Surely a point makes us safe tonight, even if Kilmarnock win provided it's not by more than 2 goals. If they win 2-0 and we draw; Thistle 36pts GD -20 Killie. 36pts GD -21 Hibs. 35pts. GD -19 If this happens only one of them can catch us as they play each other. Or am I having a nightmare with the figures here?
  9. Definitely. His confidence has a massive bearing on his contribution. The chance he had on Saturday, a confident Erskine would have given the keeper no chance. Confidence is temporary though. I'd still be pleased if he was in our squad next season. Priority for me though is definitely Taylor.
  10. Fair enough I suppose, if he's 34 and can get 5, 6 or 7grand a week from those mugs for a season or two then who can blame him
  11. I see Kenny Miller has left Vancouver Whitecaps. He may very we'll have better offers but if, sorry, when we stay up I'd be delighted if we could get him. He's 34 but I'd imagine still fit and reasonably sharp.
  12. I'd be very tempted to play with Doolan behind Taylor on Wednesday. Probably with Craigen and Higgy wide. Try and play in Hearts' half and try things in and around their box. This is Doolan's best area I think, the guy is class and he is Taylor's best chance of getting a goal.
  13. Leaving Saudi on Tuesday, back in plenty of time for Saturday!
  14. Superb result Jags. Onto next week now.
  15. I'm told that Ross County paid Rotherham £8,000 fee for the loan, covered 100% of his wages and paid for a flat for him.
  16. I see the St Johnstone game is now rearranged for January as well. So that's us playing the entire bottom half of the league this month. There can't be a better opportunity to cement our place in the division. All the possession, all the chances we've made, it's time for it all to fall into place.
  17. Might just have seemed like that through my 12-year-old eyes!!
  18. Thought I was getting home in time for this one but its not happening, not home till next Tues, so it will be another nervous 90 in front of the computer. This is a big game for us, and a big opportunity to put enough daylight between us and Hearts to ensure we won't finish last. They won't catch us anyway, but winning on Sunday would seal that I reckon. Tynecastle is brilliant. Hope we take a big support. My first trip there was in '95 (I think), Alan Dinnie scored the winner in a 1-0 win. Think there was about 4,000 Jags fans at the game. Brilliant day. A repeat would be nice.
  19. I love the football we have been playing and trying to play over the last two years. However, I'd be lying if I said I didn't take any pride in 'winning ugly'. I take a lot of pride when Thistle win a game, no matter how they did it.
  20. I'd say Doolan will play and Taylor also. Doolan is clever enough to exploit spaces created by having someone else in the box. Taylor is a goalscorer and a good centre forward, but Doolan is different. He doesn't get enough credit for his reading of the game and quickness of thought. Some of his goals this season have been brilliant and normally down to his movement, quick thinking and touch. I'm optimistic. I'd settle for a 2 or 3 goal victory at Parkhead now.
  21. I'd like to see us sign him. From what I hear, the deal is there to be done as long as we pay his wages. If not, apparently Ross County are keen to get him.
  22. I have heard that Tidser is almost a done deal. (Loan)
  23. Good Morning. Having had a few hours to let yesterday's result sink in, hopefully everyone is a bit more relaxed. We got turned over by a clinical performance from a Motherwell team, they took their chances, it happens. Looking at the game v ICT (one of the better teams in the league this season) where we should have won the game, v Kilmarnock where we had chances to win the game, Hibs where we should have won the game. I'd be a lot more concerned if we weren't competing in games, but we are. The chances are being created, and if we take them in the 4 January games then we'll be fine. Archie's biggest job this week is picking the players up after that yesterday. Get them into a frame of mind where they go to Parkhead and give a performance. If they can take any confidence from the Celtic game then it will set us up for Tynecastle.
