  1. Calm down Conrad, but if lighting a fire under you makes you run faster or jump higher then go for it.
  2. Did we not hear enough of that last season. Why not give a reason for Seaborne's absence.
  3. 1. Walking up Maryhill Road from Cromwell Street with my dad and grandad. 2. Going to League Cup finals in the 1950s by tram to Hampden, seemed like a very long journey. 3. Going to St George's Cross to buy the pink Times and green Citizen, reading about junior and reserve games.
  4. I see Scunthorpe have signed another striker today.
  5. Osman is there to allow Fraser and Bannigan to push forward which they did brilliantly, if all you can say "he was tidy" then you should be apologising.
  6. Did I really read someone say Osman was "tidy" the guy never lost a tackle, his passing was simple but perfect, he made one mistake in the whole game, he was superb as was the whole midfield.
  7. I have to ask Paterson if we have the money to bring in better quality for next season then why did we not spend some of it in January on better players.
  8. I left early but I do not boo my own team. Have not felt so angry and disappointed for a long time. Said to a friend before the game that Hearts strength is in their midfield so I felt looking at our team we would struggle against them. For the first 20 minutes we looked good and should have been 2up but we once we sat back and allowed their midfield to run at us we were in trouble. For the first time this season I was very disappointed with the management, they were far to slow to change things. If we manage to stay up then Archie has some serious thinking to do, a lot of our players are just not good enough for this level.
  9. All good strikers need good service, is our midfield making enough chances, is the mix right? For me Higginbotham must start. Getting the balance between attack and defence is the key to our problems. We have Kerr, Osbourne, Fraser, Welsh, Craigan, Forbes, Higginbotham, Lawless, Bannigan, Elliot all competing for 5 places if we are only playing with one striker. The mix in midfield is crucial to the chances Baird or Doolan get, the jury is out on both but even if we sign another we still need to find the right mix in midfield.
  10. I use Sky, I have both iPad and iMac and I cannot access the site unless I turn on VPN. If Sky is your provider ask them why they are blocking it.
  11. Sky are blocking certain websites. No idea though why they would block ptfc.co.uk. Get round it by turning on VPN. I can get the site using my mobile network but not when I use my Sky WiFi.
  12. If they go on loan Lennon will want them playing every week and not warming a bench. Could we guarantee them a starting place every week?
  13. Says on BBC Sportsday live that he is returning to New Douglas Park for his loan period.
  14. What I don't understand is why we choose to play pre season games on artificial surfaces.
  15. Easy being a scout on a computer, blame Football Manager myself.
  16. Tough one, maybe start with McGuigan and Taylor on the bench.
  17. Yes I would agree that a city end stand for the home support would be ideal. I also think that getting rid of a long term debt is not a short term financial gain. I have had the privilege of being a Thistle supporter for over 60 years and my wish is that many on this forum will have the same.
  18. The manager and the players have a job to do and the directors have their job to do. The manager wants more money to sign better players and the bank wants the debt repaid. Mr Beatties job is to keep both happy while trying to keep fans happy. In Archie we trust with the team and in David Beattie we need to trust with the finances, so far he has done little wrong in that respect. Please leave the sevco thing in the past, it is done now move on. The first two home games are against Dundee Un. and Hearts and for different reasons they will both bring big crowds with them, especially Hearts. If moving our fans from the north stand means we can accommodate more away fans then so be it. If the police and Glasgow city council are forcing us to use the main stand for our supporters only then the choice is to keep the north stand for us and have very few away fans in the J H stand, keep our fans happy but not a good business decision. David Beattie is a businessman, for him a no brainier. His fault appears that he did not consult with the One Thistle guys and if so a big mistake on his part. The other point is that most players are not fans of the club they play for so why do the Chairman and directors have to be fans? I want Thistle to stay up but most importantly to make as much money as possible, if relegation happens then I will settle for a debt free club in the first division or whatever it is called. It is possible that 2014/2015 season in the first division you could have Rangers, Hearts, Dunfermline and Thistle fighting for promotion and we will need money to compete. The bottom line is David Beattie wants what we all want, a successful debt free club in the top division, if he has to make unpopular decisions then we have a choice, make our feelings known but accept it or spend the whole season moaning and groaning. The season cannot start soon enough for me so we can get behind the players and return to debating football.
  19. We did try and sign Baird before he went to Dundee, he now has a years experience of the SPL so hopefully when confirmed he will turn out to be in the Grady/ Burns type signing.
  20. Not only has it wrecked any chance of alcohol being sold in Scottish football grounds but has also ended any chance however slim it was of Rangers or Celtic playing in England. Peter Lawwell must be wringing his hands in despair if he was watching the scenes on Sky last night. By the clarity of the photos I think a lot of troublemakers are going to be getting early morning wakeup calls by Glasgows finest.
  21. Hopefully he will come back to us.
