If we’re now getting to the stage where our game is now getting refereed by the Police Force we’re absolutely in a sorry state . Would it happen in a Old Firm Game ?

I’m sure it wouldn’t have happened in an Old Firm game , bit surprised it wasn’t made more of an issue as and when it happened. Maybe our “ cuddly “ image is coming back to haunt us .

Think you’re wrong re Fitzpatrick, apart from his goal . Malky Mackay targeted the left hand side of the park as he knew Fitzpatrick didn’t track back and there were overloads because of that exposing Kevin Holt Holt , Docherty and Brian Graham were shouting at him to work harder . It was the right sub at that time unfortunately Banzo had an absolute howler when he came on . Realistically I don’t think we’re ready for Premiership Football yet .

Agree , if Banzo is fit he should play to shore up midfield, I would put Fitzpatrick on when the game opens out a bit .

Ian McCall had 3 years to build something and didn’t , if we did manage to get to the Premier League by the play off system, I think we’ve only got 4 or 5 players who could play at that level ( Tiff , Holt , Milne , Turner and maybe Lawless ) So in fact Ian McCall’s perceived contacts , Sevco etc have been a waste of time for our Club and offered us nothing for progression We should have been scouting players that we could develop , giving some of our young players a pathway to first team football. The quick fix template hasn’t worked, I would much rather we built a team that was ready for the step up to the Premier League .

Agree re Fitzpatrick, the only player out of the 22 on Saturday who went off with cramp , ridiculous for a 22yr old player

Re Fitzpatrick, unfortunately you can’t make a player fitter , he’s got to push himself to do that and he’s not done that Aiden would be better to stay in on a Friday night and rest rather than post stuff on Instagram ( Chris Brown gig etc )that would be a good start if he wants to have a career in football . Absolute Nonsense, we’ve possibly got a progressive coach in place in Kris Doolan , time will tell on that one . Ian McCall had 3 years to build something and didn’t , no youth development, journey men guys joining the Club( Cammy Smith , Hodson etc .) and Loan Players from Sevco ( that worked well ! ) Dools should be given a chance to build something with bringing some of the young players through, getting guys like Fitzpatrick fit to actually play 90 mins etc I’m sure there will be a lot of changes in the months to come , especially with the infrastructure within the Club. Doolan has given us a chance of a play off place , though I’m not sure a lot of these players are good enough to play Premier League if we did go up .

Respect everyone trying to make a reason for Aiden’s Performances on the park. Aiden is now 22yrs old , and has been about first team football for the last 5 years . When he came back to Firhill , McCall highlighted his fitness as not being what it should be , that shouldn’t be the case now for a 22 yr old . Senior pros have spoken to him about his work rate and even when Tiff was injured Aiden still didn’t start . Hopefully he sorts himself out as he is an undoubted talent .

Not sure what aspirations you have/ had for Darren Brownlie who has just came back from a bad injury, think he’s only playing because of injuries to Milne , Mcavoy and even Lee Hodson and he has made crucial mistakes that have cost us points. Aiden Fitzpatrick should be the first name on the team sheet every week such is his ability, two footed , quick , creative, can score a goal as well , but he’s not because McCall and now Doolan know there is no work ethic there . Doesn’t track his runners etc , know senior pros like BG have spoken to him about attitude and workrate for the team .Know McCall was exasperated with him , no idea about Doolan’s opinion but it looks the same as Aiden doesn’t get a start . Just now Aiden Fitzpatrick is cheating PTFC and himself with the ability he has . Two players who had tons of ability were Kevin Nisbet and Neil McLaughlin One of them is playing in the Lowland League for East Kilbride the other sorted themselves out. Maybe Aiden should give Nissy a call .

Think regardless if we win or don’t win promotion it’ll be a different team next season

Re Fitzy , terrible attitude, tons of ability as he proved at the end with his crosses into the box . Jogged around the park , never showed for the ball . Kevin Holt took a booking for him when he lost the ball and meandered back . Similarly , dreadful mistake by Brownlie but Fitzy never showed for the ball and left Brownlie with few options . Fitzy is going to be “ another one who could have made it “ , saw Banzo and Doc having a go at him. Unfortunately I don’t think the penny is going to drop for him what it takes to be a top professional football player. Dools can’t start him as it is too big a risk because of his work ethic .

Think the biggest difference is what you say is the work rate and the fitness of the team. In Dools we trust.

Agree with your appraisal of the game , biggest mistake Dools made was taking off Lawless especially the way the game turned out , he was the only player who could have unlocked a packed defence with his ability.

Think Aiden has got another year , there is a player there , maybe should talk to Kevin Nisbet !

Think Aiden Fitzpatrick polarises opinion because of the ability he has and he could probably play at a much higher level . Think Dools doesn’t trust him to do the closing down ,working hard defensively etc. part of the game . Some of the players like BG have spoken to him but I’m not sure it has made any difference .

Just back from Crappielow , please don’t ever give me Dougie Imrie as a manager Morton are what drives supporters away from football. They are totally anti football, with no desire to play , relying on 2nd balls and a physicality that needs a strong ref which there wasn’t today. Proud of our team today for sticking at it and getting a point which I don’t they would have got earlier in the season.

From what I was told the players weren’t happy with it when McCall got sacked but are now buying into it Amazing what a couple of results do

Think this is absolutely normal re contract extensions , pretty sure it’s happened in the past as well Not great for the players out of contract but don’t think they’ll negotiate contracts till they find out what League they’re playing in next season.

I’m not sure our players underperform , think that’s the level we are at . Kind of mirrors last season as well , absolutely fine at the start of the season with the better weather conditions and better parks and we looked good . When it comes to the business end of the season, you need more physicality etc in the team , with Turner , Bannigan , Lawless , Docherty etc we haven’t got that , it’s always going to be a battle at this time of the season with every team playing for something.
