  1. As others have said our options are sadly limited in terms of making us better defensively. Maybe worth moving Milne into midfield and ngwenga to left back. I'm also thinking mcbeth ( I've read the comments ) may be worth a go at centre back. Final point....the entire team are responsible for defensive weaknesses, from front to back. Our failure is collective, not individually. To pin the blame on one player is nonsense.
  2. If Dundee United, Aberdeen and Ross County adopted this methodology they would have had quite a turnover in the board/chair department....as for managers, Dougie Imrie would have been toast after 10 games. Sometimes patience is a virtue.
  3. Once again a bit of perspective for those getting over excited by our one league defeat....in 2024! We are still in third, albeit I agree we are not great defensively, offset by scoring plenty to a degree. We trounced RC a mere 3 weeks ago and ran Livingstone close. Two PL teams remember. I'm bored with the attempted comparisons between McCall and Doolan. We all know the background why certain posters bring that up ( always in periods of adversity of course.... ). No reason why we can't make the play offs, but if we don't that would be failure in my eyes. Equally if we make it that's success, this season for me.
  4. It's obvious to everyone ( bar you ) that you have been given answers. It's just that you don't like the answers as your position is don't accept the tranche 2 payment ( which may or may not happen ) due to the dilution of shares. We get your argument, so there really is nothing more to debate. What I fail to understand is what sort of funding ( outwith of Gate money, hospitality, advertising) can the club/TFJ raise that would actually get your approval?
  5. Probably too many to mention lol. The Bobby Houston non goal still rankles to this day......
  6. On the podium as one of the worst decisions ever against us.....and that's saying something.
  7. The stats speak for themselves. I'd imagine if you'd said to the fan base in Feb 23, here is your next 50 games statistics in advance, 99.9% would have thought it highly improbable.
  8. Impossible to predict of course, but if raith get beat again I think they find it hard to recover; so 2nd up for grabs. Morton looking dangerous too and I think they will be in the play offs too. Not easy for us to beat ICT either, but 50/50 game. All to play for.
  9. Yep. Worst post I've seen for quite a few weeks. Congrats.
  10. Get that. They live off being in the SPL and the revenue that comes from that.
  11. Couldn't make the game today and gutted we lost. Will watch highlights imminently. Bit of context. We've just lost to a team who have been in the SPL for quite a few years. Their players and budget likely to be far superior to us. So is it really surprising we got beat?
  12. Amazing stat. Plus a GD of plus 42!! Average of 2 goals per game quire something over 50 games.
  13. I can't say whether Academies are financially viable or not. What I would say is what would happen if Academies didn't exist? They and systems like it benefit our young immensely, whether it benefits any senior club. Sometimes the greater good applies and perhaps the perceived cost is pretty irrelevant.
  14. No thanks. Let's have a bit of ambition. Decent winnable tie and then get the financial rewards LATER in the cup.
  15. Blink and you miss the highlights.....thanks BBC
  16. Idiots. But "spoiled the result"? Nope
  17. Turning a positive....into a negative.
  18. Very interested to hear John Robertson saying on BBC that this thistle team could compete in the SPL. Nice to hear.
  19. Fantastic result. Maybe dools was right to start BBG. Also pleased for Banzo given some of the flak he has received. Home tie next please.
  20. Playing well. Let's keep in going!
  21. Thankfully Jamie does distribute the ball a tad faster than it took you to type this ( maybe not much in it ). However, I suspect his distribution capabilities have very little outcome on our games. Bigger picture out there.
  22. I'm hoping the winter break may mean RC are rusty, allied to the player churn in their team. Far from impossible we could win it.
  23. Yep. I understand that fundamental aim in the mid to long term for TFJ funding. In the short term I'd argue that money is spend in the most prioritised areas. We could argue endlessly what constitutes short, medium and long term financial planning, but the direction of travel since less than a year ago is far better than most of us could have imagined. Perhaps next year's accounts will evidence that improvement. If not this thread will make a lazurus like recovery.
