  1. So what would you do differently, given the known financial position and remember what transpired a mere few months ago? Doolan has had one transfer window and clearly his options were limited. If they weren't we would have held on to the four key players who left! I'd agree with you that the team are not living up to the pre season expectations, but that's football. I'm not sure it is a factor but I suspect what happened in the play offs continues to have a mental impact on those players that remain. They are human after all.... Hopefully if we go on a strong run that confidence and performance level may return. There remains a long long way to go.
  2. Nobody wants to see us just rebuilding, but I think most fans have pragmatism about challenging Dundee United for the title. It's been laid bare over the last week in particular that we are simply not good enough to finish first. The question is even if we make the play offs, can we improve enough to make our way through them ( not looking good at the moment but who knows in 7 months time ) I don't think we are deliberately trying to sign mediocre players.... ( agree we have ) and it's not clear at all that Mitchell is better than sneddon.
  3. Watched the last 20 mins on stream ( not the best )....but we looked god awful.
  4. The key issue is the players we lost we were unlikely to replace like for like. So it's not that simple. My expectation remains the play offs and if we achieve that it will be viewed as a success by most.
  5. We lost 5 goals..... You have focused on one, where bannigans involvement is non existent or minimal as others have stated. Why not analyse all the goals and spread the blame? You are now suggesting that solely bannigan is bringing the entire teams performance down, which doesn't carry much water. The entire team were flat/awful/second best, so to scapegoat one player ( again ) misses the point why we lost. For the record I think bannigan and many others deserve dropping, but the problem is we have little options at the moment ( for a variety of reasons). Maybe worth making a point why bannigan is in the team. It's essentially to link the play and give it to others with more attacking skill etc. I'd describe him as a water carrier. A guy who keeps it simple. Most teams have a player like that. Dare I say ( on a slightly higher plane ) watch how Billy Gilmour plays for Brighton and Scotland. Its all very simple, but designed to keep possession. He rarely scores or has many killer passes ( sound familiar ) but he's essential to the team. Finally, a dose of reality. We have lost holt, docherty, Turner and tiffoney. Mcmillan injured and milne off form. That's 6 out of 11 of the team last year. No squad is easily going to bounce back from that, especially one with a very inexperienced manager.
  6. Kind of echo above. Also fitzpatrick pointed at sibbald but....did nothing. Worth mentioning that it was mcenroy who gave away the ball which led to the corner. If that would have been bannigan I suspect you may have commented on that....to be fair bannigan should have saved the holt thunderbolt.
  7. The reality of what the game showed us ( and the one against Arbroath ) is that we won't be challenging for the title. I think Dundee United are far superior to Dundee of last year. So realistically we were unlikely to challenge as this team is not as good as 22/23. Given the financial state of flux its play offs at best. As for Doolans signings to date the jury is well and truly out. For a new manager not exactly surprising, but yes he will and should be judged. If we can get mcmillan back soon and milne gets back to last year's form that would make a huge difference. Last point some posters suggested that some players were passable yesterday ( strong drink must have been taken ) but this was a collective failure all over the park ( bar lawless maybe for some of first half ). Last point. I hope Muirhead has a large fine coming for getting sent off in his historically stupid manner. Utterly pointless.
  8. Let's hope so. If only Kevin holt was available.....
  9. Abject performance all over park. If I wasn't in hospitality I would have left....
  10. That thought never even entered my mind.
  11. I think you will find that it's thistle fans laughing/cringing at your inane posts. Stop being lazy. Read the posts above and then string some sensible words together. No harm in a counter argument but at least try and make it a tad cohesive. Thank you.
  12. Ah the sweet smell of a meaningless task. I suspect that very few fans would be remotely interested. Anyway we have social media who evaluate every tiny bit of what goes on in PTFC. I give you flaggate as a living example of that.....
  13. Good point going into break. Beat Dundee United and we are very much in the mix.
  14. The club statement and indeed the TJF one I'm in broad agreement with. With regard to consultation on the removal of the chair, I see that as an internal matter, albeit I'm saddened on the background on why it occurred. On the investment issue it appears to be a no brainer to me that the Club need the 500k to stabilise the financial shambles the previous board left us. Therefore what is there to consult on ? What options did the club viablly have? I doubt there is a massive queue of investors out there.
  15. Your last line....should read " consultation with me " as the overwhelming majority of thistle fans/TJF members accept the rationale given on when it is appropriate to consult or not. What next? You'll be demanding full disclosure on emails, what's app messages and recordings of all meetings.
  16. We get to know more than enough. If you really want to know everything ( you have been down this rabbit hole before) get yourself on the board/TJF board member and live that reality. And perhaps think about what our TJF reps have had to deal with.
  17. It's a legal issue at the moment with more to come. We all have to wait....
  18. Whatever happened was between the board members and the TJF were acting essentially as intermediaries ( read their statement ). I think you have made multiple statements about " holding off from TJF"....each one unsurprising.
  19. As always a professional and comprehensive statement from TJF. The sort of insight we would never get under previous board regimes.
  20. Sounds like an unholy mess. Boardroom shenanigans of the highest order it appears. Ultimately not clear why mccreevy was removed, but I guess we'll get the truth very soon. Clearly TJF seem pleased with the investment and I can only hope for the right reasons.
  21. They didn't score. I'd rather enjoy the win, the fact it was actually a cracking open game, with plenty of chances at both ends. As others have said I think we may be the league top scorers. Will it be good enough to challenge for the league....who knows, but I'm being entertained that's for sure.
  22. Our defending was decent today. We didn't concede and I thought Muirhead and neilson looked solid. Not quite sure what you are expecting but in most games the opposition will have a few chances.
  23. Night and day from last week. We could have scored a lot more. Accept they had a few chances but we always looked the more dangerous side. Onwards.
