There is passion and there is being crass. I'm not raging. That is for the angry brigade. I prefer to wait and see what happens next. Maybe you can go and stand outside firhill with a banner....father Ted style " down with this sort of thing"

So if you disagree with your view you are not a passionate supporter? Bollox

Nb I don't want Miller at Firhill. Then again many were spectacularly wrong about McDonald. I actually think Boyd would score a barrel load in our division. I doubt we can afford him....

It the context of the season as a whole erskine s contribution was minimal. Dare I remind you how bad we were between August and December when erskine was in the squad? Has erskine improved Livvy? Nope

You are clutching at straws there. That's like saying if we didn't sign Anderson his crucial goals not being there mean we go down. Same applies to Scott McDonald.

Personally sad to see Kris leave. I thought he should have played on Saturday. That said he was barely getting any game time. McDonald came in and let's be honest see the heather alight. This is probably the best decision for all parties. His testimonial is still happening which is great. Finally on the erskine debate the team has improved since he left. Fact. Results improved since he left. Fact. What do you think John Lambie would have done with a player not in the team. Yep. The bullet.
  7. I'm pretty sure their was a chant directed at the bearded security guy on Saturday that went " you're just a sh** rag n bone man" a variation on the Stevie may and Andy Carroll chant...but fairly inspired.
  8. Quite like the idea of that. Or even a meet in a boozer. We all have at least one thing in common....no not jags fans. We like a good old fashioned argument ( within reason lol )
  9. Echo that. Perhaps those people espousing on the j low thread would do well to read your sensible words.
  10. Awaits the usual chime of " the season starts in August". Clearly we have been lucky since January.
  11. Very enjoyable to watch. Despite the disappointing season we did play some decent football at times.
  12. How was he lucky? Please explain. Next you'll be telling me we were lucky to beat QOTS yesterday. Have you actually read the posts about our results since January, the form guide over our last 10 games. Over the last 6 high pressure games. What luck?
  13. Apart from those two results and the Ayr home loss, we 've been good. Maybe not excellent. Stats for last ten games third best. 2 points behind inverness. If there is a form guide from January to yesterday I'm sure we will be 3rd or 4th at worse. If we take that form into next season id take that right now. Especially our away form. Improve our home form and hey presto we 'll be strong contenders. My last say on this as i realise im making the same point lol. Time to move on from boring stats :-)
  14. Lol. I think that depends on how we play and the quality of the other teams. Let's be honest if GC doesn't have the team challenging at the top he will be under pressure from the get go. As always the first 10 games crucial.
  15. That being the case surely Doolan will get another years contract?
  16. Who knows. Right now I want st mirren down. They along with Dundee are in freefall. Much like us last year. Hate to say it but Dundee United up probably improves our chances. So who will be challenging next year? Ayr likely to be weakened as Shankland and a few others away. Inverness probably a strong contender. Morton and Dunfermline. Doubt it. QOS if they survive? Dobbie one year older. Don't see it. Alloa? No chance barring a miracle. In my opinion a great chance next year.
  17. That's a decent spine to work with. Personally I'd like us to get Anderson for a year. Elliot I'd keep for this level. He started poorly but had a decent last half of the season. As always it's getting in that 20 goals plus striker is the key. Spittal did well but I'll not be devastated if he leaves, assuming we recruit a goal scoring midfielder.
  18. I must admit that staying or leaving Caldwell should have given him the last ten minutes.
  19. This. Let's be honest none of us likes been proven wrong. As i said before those without humility are guilty of arrogance. But when your arrogant you can't see it. I can't even say you know who you are because....arrogance blinds common sense.
  20. You stated constantly that Caldwell had not improved the team. You constantly said that when we were below 8th....the position we were in when Archie was sacked. So now that we are 6th can you now admit that Caldwell has improved the team? Secondly you called for him to be sacked on an almost weekly basis from October to ahem this week. You got that wrong a tad or are you still right?
  21. Time for a straw poll. There is a tiny tiny minority of people who want him sacked. I had many a debate with my mates about this ( average years supporting thistle between 20 and 40 years ) and the consensus was he deserves more time if he stabilised the ship. He did. Clearly. I seem to remember someone on here tried to organise a Caldwell out protest when we lost about 5 or 6 in a row. No one was interested. No one is interested now apart from a bitter few. Suck it up and move on.
  22. I agree. I'm looking for a strong challenge for automatic promotion.
  23. 100 pc agree. Also worth mentioning that those fans who indulge in condescending chiding uber intellectual claptrap might want to give their brain a wee rest. Oh and a bit of humility won't go amiss....ironic since that barb has been directed at Caldwell countless times.
