  1. I was standing in front of them on Saturday and to be honest they were a a real pain....at times interested in the football however most of the time just interested in winding each and anyone in the near vicinity up. Most annoying/disgusting thing was when one of them shouted abuse to one of the St Mireen players by the way of calling him a ****** Bassa....I did turn round at this point but to be fair when you allow Under 16 in for free then you are going to get Old Firm fans without the bus fare or the means to pay in. It is a good initiative however a tighter control on some of the above element might make the whole situation a better experience for all.
  2. Totally Agree with the post above after being at the game last night there was no way the formation was 4-6-0 we now play 1 up front it may not always be the same player(predominately it will be) but we will play 1 up front. Total transformation in all of the players under Strachan. My own perception is that we now have players who want to keep the ball for longer periods of play, not only wanting to keep it for longer periods of play but are comfortable at keeping it. Will not get too carried away but any player with an ounce of skill has a greater chance of getting a cap under Strachan than that idiot Levein who should have got the bullet after 4-6-0 when we did have no striker
  3. Anyone know a good pub in Alcudia to watch the game as I have not been to Majorca in years.....wife does not know yet that this is the first thing we will be doing when we get there.....Bring it on
  4. Whether they are going to give us money or not for players is irrelavant till the next window opens..... plus if they have said they will and the club is keeping it quiet then well done the club as anybody we go for will have their price increased if they know we have money to spend. To be honest can we not just be happy that somebody has decided to invest such a large sum of money into Youth Development at our club..... to the Weirs I say thanks very much
  5. I dont think Novo would have been that bad a signing....example being if Novo had been through one on one with the keeper I know who my money would have been on....he has scored goals at this level on a consistent basis.
  6. Thats a bonus as down near Dumbarton tomorrow taking a football team for a Disabilty tournament so me and my boy going to miss our first game of the season. Hopefully setlle back with a few beers and good night watching a Jags win( I hope )
  7. Make no mistake this was a good result for Scotland. I wouldnt change the central pairing of Brown and Mulgrew as the last 2 games have shown that they are probably the most comfortable players we have had on the ball for a long time. The add on from that is that the rest of theam grows in confidence and gets longer on the ball. I agree it was Macedonia but even though they are ranked 80ish in the world we still have to beat them. I fully believe we now have a team that will compete and win against those who are ranked about us and will have a better chance of beating those who are ranked above us when we play them at home and possibly sneaking a result away. This gives us a much more realistic chance of qualifying for upcoming tournaments i.e. if the same team had been playing this way then I fully believe we would have started off with 6 points against Serbia and Macedonia as for what they might have achieved against Wales well recent results have shown them up for what exactly they are. Remember it is all about opinions however things are looking much better.
  8. I think that wanting another Striker i.e. Tall target man does not mean that we are saying that the strikers we have at the moment are all of a sudden bad my take on it is that it would allow you a plan B when the only option we have at the moment is not working at times. For instance a tall target man does allow you a get out of jail ball when you are under pressure however the tall target man does have to make the ball stick. When we play at home I would stick with the current system and probably start every away game with it however if it doesnt work during the game then it has to change and bringing on one small striker for another is not going to change too much for our opponents defence. However most of the above is stating the obvious but as starts to the season goes I am totally happy only slight dissapointment is probably the Hearts game as when you are that on top you have to bury the opposition but hey ho bring on St Mirren
  9. Small bowling club that you can see from the A737 on the left as you pass over the St James Roundabout heading to Linwood. Bit of a walk to the park from it as you have to head back down to the Roundabout at Ferguslie Police station however not a bad idea for Supporter buses that are attending.
  10. Seriously listen to some of the interviews with the wee Rat it is unbelieveable......all in all he comes across as a bitter bitter wee man....best quote " Partick got a rub of the green with Dunfermline going into administration getting Andy Dowie and Jordan McMillan" mental note to Allan thats not a rub of the green thats going out and getting players who are free to be signed something the Manky Morton could have done however as you then said you thought you had a good enough team and did not need to add to the squad....mmmmm guess what Allan you never. Morton will always be a SFL team with that guy in charge there is not an ounce of football in them.
  11. Just been emailed Chris Erskines response on Facebook in relation to the Pre Contract aggreements. Just wanted to say fair play to you Chris for commenting on the matter and yes you are right it should have been kept quiet till the end of the season. Hats off to you for coming out and having your say. I personally would like to thank you for your efforts over the season and over the next 3 games. You have been here for 4 years and thats longer than some other players who are hero worshiped at times. Just enjoy your football till the end of the season score a few goals and make sure you party with the rest of us. P.s. Hope your team gets gubbed next season
  12. I am glad that we have someone in place and that it is Archie however my only concern is that say it does not go right...... say we go on a poor poor run then the abuse will start and it will start. I am greatful that Archie has stepped up to the plate but I do think the board at this moment in time have a product that many a quality manager would jump at the chance to take on and keep it going in the right direction. Please dont take this the wrong way I more than most want Archie to do well but know that if it does not then there are many fickle fans out there and at times in the history of Partick Thistle me included will turn and to me a legend like Archie does not deserve that pressure. I hope and pray Archie that you do the business and you will have my backing 100% regardless.
  13. give me a break......lets not ditch the song as for me and I no doubt lots of my Generation it was there for one reason and one reason only to get it right up the old firm...especially for all those times when you were either a ****** or Orange B just because you had the audacity to support the Jags and not them F.T.O.F. I really hate them all with a passion. So for me the song stays and quite simply if you dont want to sing it then......dont
  14. Only my opinion now but from what I can remember Murdoch was a better goalie than Arthur....but then again its all about opinions
  15. Baird is off to Dundee............... we expressed an interest but nobody could match the offer from Dundee
  16. Hi, Needing 2 tickets for the POTYD on Saturday anyone know how I can go about getting them or if they will be available on Saturday at the Falkirk game. I got 2 at the Raith game now needing another 2. Any assistance most appreciated
  17. ok point taken but by your reckoning every club above and below us will still be on the same financial footing in respect of costs, free entry, not paying full price and those who have already paid season tickets. We are the 04th best supported team that is fact. As for the debt the present board has championed that they have managed to slowly but surely started to turn things around so at some point regardless of the debt we must look to become competitive................ if that cant happen then heaven help us
  18. Im getting pretty fed up with this......if the fans played their part..........This season we are the 4th best supported team in the First Division on average home attendances. The 5th placed team are a clear 400 supporters behind us. On my estimation thats 800 supporters more income a month based on 2 home games which roughly equates to £13600 extra income monthly on gate receipts alone. on your average 10 month season then we generate £136,000 extra a season over the 5th placed team and obviously that sum will grow as you go down the average attendances. Teams below us in order are Raith, Morton, Hamilton, Livingstone, Queen of the South and Ayr. So the arguement that other teams have bigger budgets more often negates itself when you look at average income. Running costs may vary however I have not included the extra income that is generated to the club on matchday when you take into account 400 extra supporters at least. All in all the fans are playing their part they are continuing to support the club when the standard at lot of the times is not that great. Yes sure more fans can come along and Im sure they will but lets stop blaming the fans. All clubs are toiling in the first Division but no matter what happens we are still the 04th best supported team in the Division and that without doubt generates a competitive budget in this league. Maybe the board can answer why the budget for players is so low
  19. Good Evening Everyone, On behalf of Smeatojag and myself I would just like to inform everyone that we have met with the club and are extremely pleased to inform yourselves that the club have confirmed that they are totally in the wrong in relation to the miscarraige of justice that resulted in us both being ejected from the ground. Whilst the circumstances and the embarrasment can never be reversed we are both satisfied that the club have fully reviewed the events of Saturday and are in the process of ensuring that through due dilligence by all staff incidents such as Saturday should never happen again. We would both like to say many many thanks to everyone who has supported us. It has restored our faith in all things that are Thistle. A point that was not lost on the club so never underestimate the power of the supporter.
  20. I just thought I would post today after having 24hrs to calm down. I am the other person along with my good friend Smeato Jag who was ejected from the ground for throwing something. As with every version of events there are 2 sides to every story. Obviously I can only give my side of the story and like anything else you will form your own opinion. However when all is said and done I will not be stepping foot inside Firhill again until I have an apology for what I consider to be one of the most embarrasing things ever to happen to me. I was ejected from the ground along with Smeato Jag because we were accused of throwing something. I at this moment in time admit my guilt at throwing my ripped up 50/50 tickets in the air at half time guilty as charged your honour. I also admit to having a pie at half time and throwing the foil tray down at my feet guilty as charged your honour. My son who is 26 and accompanies me to every game also had a pie however was unable to finish it so he threw the pie and the foil tray down at his feet. Smeato Jag never had a pie therefore no foil tray however he did throw the 50/50 tickets guilty as charged your honour. At the end of the game if you have nothing better to do please take time to look for all the other foil trays and 50/50 tickets that have been thrown at fellow supporters feet. I do have 3 season tickets I also purchase many Partck Thistle items from Greaves in support of the club. My son is a Player boot sponsor as well. Alas after yesterdays experience I will not be renewing any season ticket or rushing to help financially in any way with the club. I have been watching Partick Thistle for the last 40 years and have managed to raise my son with that wonderful experience of being a Jags fan however for me its finished I have had enough........... at 46 years of age being escorted out of the ground in front of your own son is one of my lowest experiences I have ever felt in my life. I will be e mailing the club and asking to meet with someone as quickly as possible so that any cctv evidence can be viewed to exactly pinpoint when the supposed offence took place. I would like to also point out that if I am in the wrong in anyway then I will be the first to post on here with an apology to the club. I have always been a passionate Partick Thistle supporter and those who know me would sometimes say too passionate however for me thats it shove your club where the sun dont shine. You are slowly but surely killing our club....thanks
