  1. Brilliant. Been hiding this week after humping Inverness? 11 points clear of relegation places before Christmas. Archie clearly hasn't a clue.
  2. McNamara had no pressure on him the way Archie has had over the last two seasons. His team could play freely and it was noticeable when some expectation were put on them to kick on (after we beat Dunfermiline) we started to stutter as teams worked out how to snuff us out. For better or worse Archie has the team coping with increased pressure to win the first division and stay in this league. If this means we take a couple of rank performances and results then so be it. Only Lambie in the last 30 years has managed to keep us up. At the moment Archie is on course for our best league finish in years - currently well clear of play offs and relegation spots. Would McNamara have the stomach for a relegation scrap in this league with Archie's resources?
  3. Totally agree. We scored from a corner today as well. What on earth do they do in training?
  4. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!
  5. If that was true why are we always told if players are a doubt in the press the same as ever other team? By that logic Sean Welsh could be raring to go but Archie could be not choosing to pick him. I take your point on game day in regard to tactics/line up but there is no consistency in what you're saying.
  6. You must have been asleep when Gallagher saved us time and again.
  7. This thread is hilarious. Keep em coming!!!
  8. If your theory was correct then cars like BMW, Mercedes etc would be much cheaper as parts and build quality would be comparable with Renault or Vauxhall. Honda regularly tops reliability customer surveys. And some branded parts are better build quality than others - it just depends whether you are willing to pay less for something that does a similar job and may not have been tested to a higher spec than standard.
  9. Honda's services and parts are high price for a reason - quality and reliability. Having heard experience regarding someone who bought a Mazda CX5, and the customer service that followed I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Which I found strange for a Japanese car. The Sportage is a great looking car.
  10. If it's a SUV you need for the space, but you need four wheel to guarantee you get out in winter, the Honda CRV is a good choice. I was in the same boat 3 years ago, but couldn't afford the ix35 or the Kuga in 4 wheel drive and was not for spending that amount of money on a car that size if it didn't have it. Wasn't impressed with the Nissan test driving. The CRV is a great size, very reliable and was significantly cheaper second hand. Granted the model I have (07-12) may not be the greatest looking aesthetically, but it does the job. Don't get a petrol one though; there is a significant difference in efficiency between that and a diesel.
  11. My head is bursting with all the possibilities. I know the most straightforward one for us is either 6 points or 4 points in the next two games and we're safe. Excluding goal difference situations, has anyone worked out all the scenarios that could happen? As a pessimist I'd start with us losing both games....
  12. While you may have a point regarding Hearts, they did not bad on from the start against Hibs last time out...
  13. Desert safari was good - 4x4 tearing up the sand dunes. City sightseeing bus was best way to see all the stuff you can't afford and more in a day. Speak to someone who's been or a travel agent; it's not a compact place and stuff is sprawled everywhere. Don't drive - utter chaos on the roads. Was there about 6 years ago for 2 days on the way to Oz. Didn't know my way around admittedly; great place if you have money to spend, but I found it pretty soulless. I know people living there just now but I'm not in a hurry to go back.
  14. Apart from his last game against Liechtenstein. Calling him lazy that night was about the only thing Craig Levein got right in his tenure. Showed no interest whatsoever and I remember the crowd giving him some leeway for the first half hour then berating his complete disinterest or urgency. Rightly hooked at half time and to be honest hadn't looked anywhere near the player since. Which is still more than good enough for the SPFL.
  15. That's what the biker gangs do. Very well researched, with the founder of the Hell's Angels, Sonny Barger, as an advisor with a cameo role.
  16. What game were you watching on Tuesday? He might be able to spread the odd pass but he's a headless chicken. Lawless was terrible today. If he hadn't been a sub he would've been off. Powderpuff.
  17. So who replaces him then? Fraser, who was atrocious on Tuesday? Lawless who was even worse today? Elliot????
  18. Elliot's passing is accurate??? What game were you watching today??? He was rank and should have been hooked after half an hour. He was lucky Taylor saved his rank lack of control for the 3rd goal. As for tracking back, you actually have to do something except just hang around. His inability to tackle, pressure or give an outlet gave them the freedom of that side of the pitch in the second half. In fairness I blame Archie more than him.
  19. I completely agree. Higginbotham has lots of nice wee touches but very little end product. He almost always chooses the wrong option; he may have a lot of shots but how many have ended up as a goal? His sitter yesterday epitomises the entire team - lovely stuff to watch up to the last minute but if you don't do the basics it's pointless. ATS could go right now if we had another left back. We have taken him as far as we can; he has improved but as a player he needs better coaching to take him to the next level. His delivery in particular is very poor. Don't understand the criticism of Craigan; he's had one or two bad games but on the whole he's fine. Baird on the other hand...... Someone needs to explain to me how our management team of two ex-defenders can sit week after week and watch the same mistakes being made. Cross balls and clearing lines are basic, basic stuff. However calls for them to go are a joke. People have very short memories. Less than 6 months after a 20 odd game unbeaten run and they're rubbish for struggling in a higher league of which we aren't even close to being bottom of?? Tell us then - who is the messiah with the master plan?????????
  20. 9/10 for Beaton in the Record today. I wasn't at the game but the praise he got could have been someone's attempt at sarcasm based on comments here!
  21. I don't think there was a link to the Green Brigade and the damage at Firhill if you mean the Glasgow Cup game.
  22. Because it's a matter of opinion. And how can you be a hipsterish hater when it's stated how much it was enjoyed in the end!!!!! To be honest I wasn't really into the premise of the show and only watched it based on recommendation. It took me around 6 weeks to watch the first season on DVD and only because I was determined to give it a chance, hence I felt it was a slow burner. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed it. However I don't think it's the best thing I ever watched. The Sopranos, The Shield, the Wire and Sons of Anarchy I felt more compulsion to watch more than one episode at a time. I only really felt that way about BB from about season 3. Really good, satisfying and disturbing last season though, maybe one of the best at wrapping things up.
  23. Breaking Bad was a slow burner for most of the first season, especially compared to later seasons. It's not that compelling for the first few episodes and only became addictive about 5 episodes in. I also thought some scenes were overdone in many episodes (the fly) and the scene after the bombing with Gus really annoyed me; it was daft. But overall it was very good. Can't believe no-one has mentioned The Shield. Loved the way what happened on the first episode resonated right through 7 seasons, and you were rooting for the 'bad' guys....
