  1. BL was definitely on fine form at Hampden on Saturday! What I loved about his style of play was that when he went on a run, instead of keeping the ball under close control he would usually knock it far in front of him and then just belt after it. Just like one of his beloved dugs after a hare. It was great to watch.
  2. Everybody was stoned out of their heads. Arthur Montford included.
  3. A skeleton walks into a bar. "I'll have a pint, please. Oh, and a mop."
  4. That mob haven't won a match at Dens Park since the league started. No reason why that dismal record shouldn't continue on Saturday!
  5. Points all taken! I 'm thinking more of their posture and the way they bustle into players to try to win the ball back. Park was indeed a great winger. If Cairney continues to progress, he may well become a Jags legend.
  6. It was nice to see us scoring from a cross dropped by the opposition goalie for once! Imagine that had been Fox......
  7. Tora Tora Tora! : Getintaethem!
  8. Often used to describe Margaret Thatcher, I recall.
  9. A telling reminder of how some of our hard-earned taxes are used: http://dotsub.com/view/01ad2718-073c-474a-ac40-c7a72e199d55
  10. Cheers for that. Sounds like it's worth a visit.
  11. His sole role is to talk Scotland down at every opportunity, in a vain effort to reinforce the notion that Scotland is a dependence junkie that needs handouts from Westminster in order to survive, while hoping of course that the people here remain underprivileged to further reinforce it. Thankfully more and more Scots are becoming increasingly aware of the British nationalists' lies and tactics.
  12. Watching the two later games made me see more than a passing resemblance in style between Donald Park and Paul Cairney, though Park has more pace. Both are right wee needles, probably a nightmare to play against!
  13. Yep; a bit of a shame that it didn't quite sell out. Whoever got the profits from the bar certainly was quids in! I reckon that something similar at Firhill to belatedly celebrate the Firhill Centenary would also be a hit, especially if combined with promotion to the SPL!
  14. Big Roughie: incomparable. Excellent to see 18,000 inside the old Firhill.
  15. Great to see the opening video from last night's celebration too!
  16. If I could re-live any single day, it would be that one.
  17. Yes, a BIG thank you and CONGRATULATIONS for what was a brilliant event.
  18. The huge Thistle "choir" was indeed in the left side of that terracing. However, there were plenty of Jags fans also in the stands, and in fact everywhere. On the video of match when you see the goals again in slow motion from another angle you can see the fans celebrating all over the place.
  19. Noticed that the Thistle Bar was open again yesterday, presumably under new management. Anybody been in?
  20. His finish certainly let him down yesterday; all he had to do was sidestep the ball into an open goal, but he ballooned it over.
  21. Excuse me, but it was the Thistle end that afternoon! I've always wondered who was the fan that ran onto the pitch at the end of the game before the polis got to him.
  22. You're right about Sinclair. Last week against Raith Rovers I couldn't believe how bad his passing was, and I put it down to an off-day. But yesterday was even worse; a shocking collection of over-hit, under-hit, or off-target passes. You're also right about the dropped points. If, as usual, we play the socks off Dundee at Dens Park but still lose, that will be 1 point gained out of 9. That would be worrying.
  23. That pretty much sums it up, I reckon. Though I'd add that there are too many long cross-field passes that don't actually take us any further forward but that give the opposition plenty of time to get organized in defence. Great that the team kept fighting right until the end.
  24. Excellent photies. Thank God for supersub Erskine!
