  1. Me too. I like the almost "sea shanty" vibe to it. Hope there will be a video of some kind.
  2. I can't find any mention of a ptfc tv live stream for tonight's game. Does anybody know for a fact if there will be one?
  3. Logged on here with more than a little trepidation..... What a result! "Brilliant!" to the team and management, and the supporters. Onwards and upwards, Thistle! ETA: Gotta love it: Only 38% of possession, no shots on target, their goalie didn't even make a save, and we win!!
  4. If Bannigan plays, please God let him play well and avoid a card. Same for Stanway. In fact, God, if it's not too much trouble, please extend that request to all our players! Thank you in advance. Respectfully yours.
  5. I wish I had one. But I bought so much stuff back then, it wouldn't surprise me if I already had one of those prints (in amongst tons of other Jags stuff in storage while I'm floundering on the other side of the planet).
  6. Absolutely. I was trying to be ironic, and ballsed it up. (Maybe a bit like Banzo's late sitter.....)
  7. Brilliant article! True thanks, TTA.
  8. I've thought about this for some time, but will only express my thought(s) now, in view of the impending, sad disappearance of this source of information and outlet for outpourings regarding all things Thistle (and much more than that). The autographed backdrop picture of (I think) the League Cup Final (1971) squad, with Dave McParland back left and Willie Ross back right, is amazingly good. Many real likenesses to the team members, due to a talented artist (presumably from one or more photos). Does anybody know any more details about who did it? Is the original in oil, acrylic, watercolour, or (my guess) crayon? Is it based on a real team photo shoot (I've searched but can't find any such picture), or has the artist created it? NOT of any importance in the wider context, of course, but it's harmless, which cannot be said of so many things that are occupying most people at the moment. Even just to give the artist due credit....
  9. I've always believed that's why we lost that day....
  10. Sorry, LIB, but three "buts" in three of four sentences leaves me confused about what the take-home message is from that! But never fear. I think the Jags might just surprise a lot of folk. I agree that we should go for the win, but that doesn't mean recklessness. It could be a tough watch, but maybe also a delight.
  11. It looked to me as if Bannigan realized his boot was high and in fact didn't complete the tackle, but the Falkirk player still crumpled and refs just love going for that second yellow.
  12. By the way, the awful pitch invasion after our second goal illustrates perfectly why it was the correct decision not to allow the Falkirk fans into part of the JH stand. Idiots, including "grown" men, who think it's smart or big not just to celebrate the winner, but to run on to the pitch and across to goad the Falkirk supporters, some of whom reply with missiles of various sorts. Ugly and primitive, unfortunately.
  13. Hmm, Bannigan might be a strong candidate for our next player-manager..........
  14. We also played Dalmuir few times. It was definitely more challenging!
  15. It is. The streets mentioned in the posts above were in Drumchapel.
  16. I played on that 9-hole course many times, especially during school holidays. My golf never really improved!
  17. Well, another game vs. Falkirk that will linger in the memory. First, apart from the obvious idiot, full marks to every player who gave their all when they were on the pitch, and to the managers for adjusting the formation for damage limitation, and making good -- nay, excellent substitutions. Really no criticisms of any of the players who helped us toward that totally unexpected win, but special mention to Mitchell (some important saves, dealt competently with crosses), Megwa (wish he'd been on such good form earlier in the season), Ashcroft, O'Reilly, McBeth; and to Graham and Chalmers for the sheer grit and amount of ground covered. I had a feeling that Fitzy was looking like he meant business, and I wasn't happy when he got replaced by Turner for tactical reasons, but it was part of the plan that worked. Absolutely delighted for Ablade. Definitely worth getting up at 3:15 am for.
  18. No soap; stale bread and puddle water for nourishment.
  19. He was excellent throughout. I hate time-wasting by keepers, but he did what he had to do.
  20. Right, serious question; Does Bannigan do this deliberately? It happens so much, I can't help thinking there's something "not right" behind it. Anyway, he's slow, can't keep up with he pace any more, just a clugger. Get rid of him asap.
  21. We lived in no. 20. Left in 1972 for leafy Knightswood. Loved growing up in the Drum.
