  1. The one with the "Gnome Liberation Front" banner looks like a fully bearded Rod Petrie!
  2. I see from BBC Sport that the SPFL have opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic and Aberdeen for bringing the game into disrepute.....Do the SPFL not do that?
  3. One could argue that such a written statement is libellous. But I DO like it!
  4. I saw on the Hearts Kickback forum that some Thistle fans have set up a "Gofundme" page seeking £300 for a banner saying "SPFL corrupt to the core". They now have £275 towards the £300, with Hearts fans contributing. Look out for a new banner when we return! (In the Boycott away grounds, thread, in the Kickback forum.)
  5. Several issues arise from this decision. Hearts made a commercial decision to return to training. Others chose not to. They are being financially punished for their return, and being disadvantaged for the cup semi final. Other lower tier teams made their decisions not to return to training for commercial purposes. Queen of the Farce only have three registered players! They couldn't even put out a five a side team! With the cup semi final, there were anyways going to be anomalies in training schedules. No reason to play the "disadvantage" card. That is a convenient excuse. I said during the court case that Doncaster only set up the bottom two tier leagues return because of the court case. I also still have concerns about the return of these leagues. Thank heaven Doncaster wasn't given executive power for this season. We do now need to work with some of the clubs that voted against us to form sufficient numbers to block any proposal to end the lower tiers. Voting rights as per last season's shutdown still apply. You can bet your bottom dollar that the social club mendicant teams will want to mothball. Hopefully there are sufficient ambitious teams to block this vote. All we want to do is play football. As said repeatedly above the errant clubs will not be touched. Doncaster's sacred Sky contract must be fulfilled!
  6. A lot of clubs changed their vote for the final flurry as they knew perfectly well that reconstruction was not going to happen. (Imo.) Morton were one of them. Dunfermline another. Both previously dead set against reconstruction. One of my unpleasant memories of the Bad Friday vote and its aftermath was one Dave MacKinnon (remember him?) sticking the knife in with his "The silent majority" voting to end the season quote. Their chairman was also rather outspoken in that period. So no, I'm not really impressed by their late change of stance.
  7. St Mirren Morton QOS Queens Park None of these clubs did us any favours. C'mon the Jags
  8. The very least the club can do is fine all eight two weeks wages. They didn't obey the Covid protocol. The club can claw back some of the goodwill lost by this if they then donate the fines to the Scottish NHS, or something similar
  9. Keep football tidy teeshirt came this morning. Had its maiden outing, when myself and Mrs EKJ walked the dog in the fields near our home. Saw a fellow dog walker friend, and she loved the teeshirt. "How community minded" she said. "What?" I asked rather confused. "SPFL in the bin. Stop People From Littering." I was too stunned to reply, and it kept Mrs EKJ amused for ages. It would take too long to have explained it, as she isn't a football person. Good fit, and very happy despite the neighbours
  10. There is a hearing either next week or the week after announce the decision on costs. For a week's court time +prep for two QCs + other counsel and staff, you are probably looking upwards of £500,000. But probably a lot lot more than this. What I'm not too sure on, is whether us and Hearts split the bill on the ratio of what damages we were seeking. This is costs for the arbitration panel, they were seeking damages of four times what we were. Doesn't matter. Still a damn sight more than £2,500.
  11. The club website has just announced that alterations to season ticket prices, and hopefully pay per view (PPV) will be announced next week. https://.ptfc.co.uk-news/season-ticket-update/
  12. There is a full statement from Murdoch MacLennan in the Scotsman times at 1:22 pm on Monday 22 July 2020. Doncaster also gets his twopence worth in. The statement you quote is timed 17:00. MacLennan and Doncaster made their full statement disclosing the outcome much earlier. I saw it in an article in the Scotsman timed 13:22 on that day. I'm not intending to say any more. The timings speak for themselves.
  13. Check the timings before you produce such rubbish. The SPFL were the first to make a statement, including no compensation awards. The continuing fixture list is a complete red herring on your part, when you are talking about the right to disclosure. The Hearts and Thistle statements were only released AFTER the SPFL and the other interested clubs had their say. There was no agreement for the SPFL to release any decision. In arbitration the decision and any remedies can remain confidential. full stop. The SPFL put the decision into the public domain, and were wrong to do so.
  14. The SPFL and promoted clubs told the world the result of the Panel. Not the panel, or anybody else. Thistle Hearts did not agree to this happening, and the decision should have remained confidential - despite public interest. What part of "non disclosure" do you not understand? The SPFL and promoted clubs did not have the right to put this info into the public domain. You don't seem to grasp the conditions of confidentiality expected of the parties to the case.
  15. Why has Doncaster broken the terms of Arbitration? The law regarding Arbitration clearly states that ALL of the proceedings are confidential, unless otherwise agreed. Well Hearts and Thistle clearly have not given that agreement. Lord Clark, in his Decision said that the rules of arbitration must be followed. Doncaster spoke on national radio, and his favourite paper breaching those terms. He is therefore in contempt of court in breaching the procedure set out in the CoS. Doncaster for the pokey!! ps Although not specifically set out in the Arbitration Act 1996, there is an implicit obligation of confidentiality with three exceptions. Agreement of the parties. Court Order. Disclosure which is essential for the protection of a party's legal rights. None of these apply to Doncaster's breach.
  16. Surely there must be two fans in this photo!!
  17. is this another of these threads like "Who are the Jags in this photo?" An inauspicious start!!
  18. Is that (the late) Brian Whittaker at the far right of the back row, with Danny Kellachan beside him. Maurice Johnson at the back row left, beside the white tracksuited coach? Bobby Houston bottom left front row ? Mr Britton hasn't changed at all. Does he have a mirror in the attic?
  19. Sena did a good shift at Montrose, in this division last year. Lets not forget that we have him. Young, hard and an asset in the division.
  20. McGregor did come up with this beauty several weeks ago. Difficulty is that the SPFL called the lower divisions for 19/20, with the later calling of the Premier Division on average points per game.. They in all probability will not be able to N & V the Premiership for the 20/21 season because of their contractual arrangements with Sky, but can they seek to do this for the lower divisions? The SPFL Exec did seek power to make Covid decisions for this season, but were knocked back by clubs. The fact that it is 20/21 and not 19/20 will not make a blind bit of a difference to the SPFL, and their Sky contract is their only sacred cow. If their is another lockdown or big outbreak, they will turn the argument 180 degrees round and claim that N & V for the lower divisions is the only fair outcome, as we are playing a reduced number of games. Others quoted extracts from "Animal Farm" in the Court thread, but the SPFL are capable of trying to manipulate this for real. Fun ahead.
  21. I saw him play a number of times when I first started going to see Thistle around 1968. He wasn't the type of player who would be sent off, and I don't know for certain whether or not he was sent off before of after the Celtic game. Interestingly East End Jag started a thread in November 2019 "What do you remember about....Davie McParland." Good read. The thread is on page 10 of the topic listing.
  22. WJ has highlighted a concern I have on the 20/21 season. McGregor of Ross Co has already said that there should be no relegation or promotion for this season. Others will think the same. Imo McGregor just wants to protect RCs Premier status. The SPFL are going to ensure that the Premier League will keep going, for the Sky cash. They (as we all now know) have a responsibility for ALL 42 clubs. Their request to use emergency powers to call leagues etc was rejected. Member clubs simply do not trust the executive. But Doncaster gets a salary of £400,000 + to lead. What's the point of his existence if he doesn't produce leadership, sponsorship etc? What plans does he have for the lower leagues? The SPFL have had all summer to think about this. Thistle need to take early action to ensure that they pressure the SPFL to ensure measures are in place in the event of a shutdown. James Anderson did give cash to he clubs to deal with Covid interruptions, albeit not a lot per club. I'm usually an optimist, but I can see us being in League 1 for 21/22 season by default
  23. Irish Cup Final being played at Windsor Park on Friday (31 August), with 500 fans attending. (Ticket only.) Ballymena v Glentoran. Same night League of Ireland Premier Division game between Derry City v Sligo Rovers at the Brandywell live on internet BBC Sport. (For those of you with withdrawal symptoms.) Article states this game is "broadcast live", so I am assuming that it will be TV broadcast, and not just radio. I do stand to be corrected if I'm wrong.
  24. Colin McAdam was our penalty king. Usually hard, straight down the middle. I'm sure keepers used to dive out of the road of his thunderbolts. I'd love to have a young, physical Colin in the team next season, dishing it out! Ah, wishful thinking!!
