East Kent Jag II
I've just noticed an obituary in the Guardian for football journalist Kevin McCarra, who has passed away today from Alzheimer's disease, aged 62. I used to read his articles in the paper, and previously in the Sunday Times for quite some time. Although he had written a book on Celtic, when he retired to Glasgow a number of years ago , Kevin did go to Firhill when he wasn't at Parkhead. He came back to live in the West End. Very sad that one so young should be taken away with such a horrible disease RIP.
Barney Rubble
So sorry to hear about this - always enjoyed his writing even if I didn't agree with some of it. Irrespective of that - Alzheimers at 62 is an absolutely shocking thought. RIP Kevin.
Fawlty Towers
So sorry to hear this. In the last few seasons Kevin and his wife Susan attended Firhill on a regular basis and sat to my immediate left. As I would be sitting down usually 20-25 minutes in to the match I would ask what have I missed usually to be told not much. Kevin was a very intelligent man but he was also a gentleman and I always enjoyed our discussions. Thoughts are with Susan at this difficult time. 2
AlgarveJag
a tragedy to such a cruel disease. thoughts are with Susan, his family and friends. I'm sure a lot of the PTFC 'mentions' in the Guardian, radio and podcasts were down to his writing and influence.
