Lack of Professionalism at the Club

Recommended Posts

It was stated last night on Social Media that the Club would be issuing a pre AGM Statement today - which it just did

someone knew in advance because they were given confidential information

The options are therefore - a Board Director - a Staff Member - or assuming TJF were notified ( happy to be corrected if not ) a TJF Board Member

Now Football Clubs have lots of leaks on Football - but this was a statement from the Chairman - very few staff would be copied in

So that means that Club Business is being bandied about to “ mates” - we elect Boards - TJF members elect TJF Board - we expect them all to act professionally - Ive long accused Fan Ownership of bringing a Bowling Club Culture - leaking confidential info so a mate can plaster it on Social Media simply confirms it

Not sure what “confidential information” you’re referring to?

I had emailed TJF about the lack of transparency around the plan for the transfer window.  I’m sure I wasn’t the only one.  TJF has a board rep so this very well could have made it to the board, who found it important to address the issue ASAP.

Or they just could have seen the furor on social media and decided to act based on that.

Or a combination of the two?

Jim this is ridiculous.

Andrew Holloway, a former Club and TJF Board member and long time Thistle fan, expressed concern, publicly, on Twitter, that there hadn’t been any public comment by the Club on transfer policy and football matters.

He told other fans, publicly on Twitter, that he had emailed the Club to ask for more transparency ahead of the AGM.

He received a reply from the Club advising that a statement addressing these issues was planned and would go out before the AGM.

He told Twitter what he had been told.

There isn’t a conspiracy or unprofessionalism here. This just serves to show that answers to a lot of fans’ questions are literally one email away.

Please, for the love of god, give it a rest.

Not sure someone saying we will be getting an update from the chairman is a big issue.

If the details of what was going to be said were leaked then I'd see that as an issue.

Shame the statement wasn't made at the start of January and it might have prevented some knicker wetting and conspiracy theories from some posters...

So posters complain that the Club doesnt bother there arse replying to e-mails but another Fan happens to simply “ e-mail the club” and he is advised by return that the Club are putting out a statement - of course when you e-mail the Club they respond straight away with exclusive  info to any fan that contacts them

Aye No Bother …

Jim - you can't have it both ways.

You initially thought that there was a governance issue with "leaking" a statement ahead of the AGM. It has been explained why that is not the case.  The explanation refers to publicly verifiable facts. That's really the end of it.

If someone else has difficulty in getting the Club to respond to a query, they should say so and take it up with the Club.

There are plenty of valid criticisms to make. Having raised the point and had it answered, it's probably more productive to accept that and move on.

(As an aside: I can't recall a Club board in my lifetime that hasn't been a leaky sieve with people ITK. I don't like that personally, but if the point you're trying to make is that fan ownership = low ambition cosy boys club, then again, I think you've picked a poor example to try to make your point.

And its verifiable that various people complain about the Club not responding to communications ~ but “ a fan” who is a former Chair of TJF  just so happens to e-mail them -and is told immediately that there will be a statement from the Chairman

Im sure that there is no coincidence on any level

Your 100% correct - Fan Ownership = a low ambition cosy boys club - we are a shambles -and TJF re-elect the exact same board - there is no Plan on any level to stem the losses - when Tranche 2 runs out what then ? Continue to blame Jlo ?

We have Board Directors telling is “ we took a punt on promotion “ but if we failed we burn £280k of Cash Reserves - that punt was agreed with TJF - it wasn't agreed at the AGM - where it could be challenged

But Im sure its all fine - at least other fans now know that if they contact the Club they will reply immediately

Absolute waste of a thread. Vexatious rubbish about a statement. Maybe we should go back to the good ole days and put something out on the programme. Or just keep it all hush hush, in smoke filled rooms. Fan engagement is leaps ahead, even with a bump in the road or two.
