Administrators Chaz Posted October 10, 2010 Administrators Report Share Posted October 10, 2010 Hello, David Stewart, the Jags Trust Chair, has kindly agreed to a Q&A session with fans on this forum. We will keep this thread open until 17th of October (1 week) to allow everyone time to submit any questions they have. If you would rather submit your question anonymously, please email them to [email protected] When the answers are available we will put them up here and in our content section. Just to confirm - this Q&A is open to all fans, so you don't need to be a member of the Trust to submit your questions. Cheers
B.C.G. JAG
Do you agree with me that the Trust needs to reform it's procedures so that it both: a. represents a more sizeable percentage of the fanbase by reviewing it's membership policy and fees (Possibly introducing lifetime memberships and cutting the membership fee down to a small, nominal one off charge)? b. ensures that the Rep position is always elected by a quorate and democratic vote, (where candidates can be rejected at the ballot even if they are unopposed) giving the Rep a secure mandate with which to represent the fans? Steven H
Given the differing opinion amongst the general support on what the Jags Trust do and/or should be doing, i.e. fundraising or working towrds fan ownership, are there any plans for a 'two-pronged' Trust where fans who want to be political can focus on that while another group focus on fundraising? Obviously all members would be involved in both when it comes to voting, being represented and raising funds but with 2 specific focus groups within the organisation. Also, given the image associated with the name Jags Trust, is there scope within the rules to change the name and drop the Jags Trust part, thus leaving Partick Thistle Supporters Association, and if so is this under consideration? In addition, are there any plans to review the constitution to make the aims and objectives of the organisation clearer and more focussed on the what the fans see as priority? lady-isobel-barnett
I'd appreciate this post being considered in tandem with Steven H's (post 3). Do you believe that the Jags Trust should be the centre of and driving force behind most if not all Club fundraising? If yes how do you square it between handing proceeds of fundraising direct to the Club, which many JT members and those donating may wish, as opposed to withholding monies, say to purchase shares or perhaps for some ringfenced purpose, that other members and those donating might prefer? digger
Shall we be vigorously pursueing any Ex Board Member/s who may hold or have held shares which were held in trust for the club?
Fellow Traveller
Two questions: 1 At the recent AGM when listing the achievements of the Trust over the past two years Kieron cited: “1876 Merger securing the right to a place on the Club Board in perpetuity without payment of a Directorship fee”. On the face of it, that puts the Trust in quite a strong position when dealing with the current board. Can the Trust make this agreement available on their website so everyone can see precisely how it is worded? Presumably it was tightly drafted and does not permit the board to block this place "in perpetuity" without giving a good reason for doing so. 2 A fairly important Jags Trust Board meeting took place on 8th January 2009, the Thursday evening before the CF/1876 merger vote. The minute for that meeting was approved at the next monthly meeting in February, but seems to have gone missing from the website. Can you arrange for it to be added to the record? File was not in my copies of historical minutes when reconstructing the website. Should be up in 5 minutes.

yoda-jag
Lifted from the "Who's running PTFC" thread: Beattie and Allan are calling the shots ...on both the Property Company and The Football Club completely unchecked now that they've managed to free themselves any possible opposition or scrutiny. What is the Trust's position on this? Have they suggested (for instance) greater fan consultation and potential input on Propco? Are they calling for greater transparency on they way the Club (and Propco) is run and how it conducts it business and accessibility? Does the Trust see any Conflict Of Interests with the Club and Propco Boardmembers holding positions in both? If so, does it intend to do anything about it, either by seeking some changes, making a noise about it to force any rethinks or gain a greater position of power and influence, or even seek Propco's ThistleMinded folk to not go down the residential ruination conversion of Firhill route, and instead look at other ways of utilising their money as a interestfree loan to see if other means of funding can be raised to pay them back and wipe out our debt and become a fan run club? Or is the Trust of the opinion that there is nothing that can be done to have any influence, discussions or input with regards Propco? Or even to the extent of how the club is run? Or who owns it? And one final question: The confidentiality clause that prevented Keiron from revealing so many things from the boardroom to his fellow Trust members (not just the birth of Propco or how he could see from the inside our increasing financial problems). Is there any will within the Trust (should they get access to the Boardroom again if the rep situation can be resolved), to speak with the Club/Propco leaders to, if not remove the confidentiality clauses, at least relax it and open up more to the Trust (and the support), and work together for the greater good of this great football club? Administrators Chaz Posted October 25, 2010 Author Administrators Report Share Posted October 25, 2010 Hi, Just wanted to let you all know that it shouldn't be much longer now before we get the answers back from the Jags Trust. We had asked if they could respond by yesterday but unfortunately they didn't receive the email until now, so that has caused a slight delay. David hopes to have the answers sent back within the next couple of days though and I will post them on this thread as soon as we receive them. Cheers

MerryHell
Is the moral of this story not to agree to a Q&A with supporters? Cowan was going to do one in the Glaswegian, David Stewart was going to do one here...
