potty trained
The GF and I bought a new hoover at the weekend, really good deal from Tesco, about 80 quid off. However, although it's unbelievably powerful, the hinge that keeps the upright part "upright" when not in use, or when using the hose is rubbish and the upright part keeps on tipping over. A quick browse online shows that this is a fault with this (and apparently a lot of the Vax upright) range. needless to say, the hoover is going back for a full refund this weekend. Now i know why they didn't have a display model!
Jaggernaut
Now i know why they didn't have a display model! Agreed. No self-respecting model would want to be seen displaying that thing!

[/quote You should have asked my advice on this...Vax are and have always been a poor relation in the Vacuum trade...Hoover and Dyson have always outsold them as Vax have always had design faults, my old work used to manufacture parts for all the big hoover companies and Vax's designs were always in a word....ABYSMAL!!!! Rid Skwerr
We've got a Vax upright that we got from Asda about five years ago for £30. It's been fine and has enough sook to lift the carpet off the floor! It does, however, make as much noise as a 747 on full throttle!
