Celtic Away Boycott

Ordered me + the wee mans tickets yesterday. Restricted view left only, but who cares, we're excited to be going!

Also purchased tickets for the other side. Other half + kids are Celtic fans. All going together but sitting in separate sections : )

Surprisingly, (for home fans) there was only single tickets dotted about the ground available. everything else was showing as sold out. Had to buy slightly dearer tix to get theirs all together.

Got to admit, the Celtic online ticket page is very impressive. You can see every seat in the ground, choose the one you want, and if you click on it, it gives you an approximation of the view you will get from that seat.

Boycott? These are the games we want to involved in. Mon' the Jags.

It stills seems strange that this game is being played on a day when there is no public transport available. Surely this will put many fans off from attending.

I can understand the notion to return to traditions but some things are better left in the past. Bigger leagues, safe standing areas, gate revenues split are the.sort of initiatives worth looking into. Playing football at times when there is zero public transport regardless of tradition ain't worth it.

Then you should take this article to heart. http://blogs.channel...ne-written/6897

It is a good article, but at the risk of upsetting people I am going to make the obvious point that it is about Rangers and doesn't mention Celtic at all or there supporters. I'm not for one minute suggesting that all the wrongdoing emanates from Govan, but the Celtic crao tends to be about pseudo-political rants whereas the Rangers stuff is basically plain racist sn sectarianism which is anti-Catjolic and particularlly anti-Irish to the core and has been downplayed or ignored by the media in this country.

Or a blue seat at Ibrox :-)

Thought Ibrox was sold out with ST holders, yet 1/2 season tickets are on sale.

Don't know what amount of season tickets are sold for Ibrox but you always get the 1/2 season ticket option each year and this is nothing new.

To be fair the clubs can count these season tickets be it 34, 38, 40K whatever as it's all money that's been paid upfront.

I don't get all annoyed that clubs should put up false figures now and again but the reality is Scottish football has empty grounds all over and you see this from the highlights on TV.

It's another debate but the product and all round match day experience just isn't good enough to get more folk along to the games these days.

Do you think there's empty grounds all over the tv because a lot of clubs were forced to build all seater stadiums too big for their requirements to get into the SPL?

A requirement that benefited rangers greatly!

That might be one of the reasons and a minimum 10,000 seater stadia was probably a bit much for some clubs but the standard of football in this country has been poor for years and folk these days don't have the same interest in it.

Dundee Utd by bringing on good quality youth players and playing attractive football has at least brought a bit of excitement and interest to that club recently.

It's now up to other teams to get quality players through the ranks to get the same type of interest and more folk wanting to go and watch good attractive football.

We as a country have produced next to nothing with regards top quality players for a few decades now and the game has been in decline.

This needs to change if we are to have a chance of getting folk back into the grounds again. (imo)
