  1. Apparently we approached Killie about Conrad returning...Unlikely to go through though unless Killie stump up some cash...we are only offering a one year deal and they wont pay him off for the existing 3 (?) years of his contract..
  2. I haven't seen the email (I get some & not others in true thistle fashion). Is there much more content to it or simply the need for the new share issue
  3. Like Ryan Stevenson?! Why Archie persisits with him up front is beyond me. Craigen on bench, Dools up top and Stevenson in that role for me.
  4. Hi LLD, For what's its worth I'm a similar age & just gone through the exact same dilemma. I had the choice of a gaff in Muirend or Clarkston. Both were sand stone terraced houses (at a similar price) with the one in Muirend having the extra bedroom and probably a few more 'features' that my missus likes but aren't the most essential things in the world. Despite the one in Muirend probably being the better house, we took the one in Clarkston as we felt its overall value was probably greater. In terms of schooling its the better option (on paper)and I guess that, in a lot of ways, became the 'sensible' option. Property values also seems to stay pretty strong whereas moving outside ER and into Glasgow City Council you find a lot of fluctuations - according to the estate agent in GCC. For example, we sold our flat in one day in Muirend and our neighbour (literally next door) hasn't shifted it in 5 months - the estate agent prepared us for this as its apparently very common regardless of house price. The houses in Clarkston seem to go quickly so if you need to sell then there's peace of mind that you should sell rapid without compromising on losing money. We are pretty delighted with our move. They local bars & restaurants are excellent and transport links are also pretty good and really convenient (so is Cathcart to be fair). We also have parking which we wouldnt have got in Muirend which has been much more important to us than we thought. On similar train/bus lines to Cathcart so your adding 5-10 mins to your journey into town but worth it. Our neighbours are similar ages to us (a lot of families) whereas the ones in Muirend were a lot older so that's been a wee added bonus. One final thing - having gone through the buying process - mortgages, valuations, financial planning etc. etc. that comes with buying a house I am so glad that we stretched ourselves this time & don't have to do it all over again. If you have all the time in the world then I'm sure its quite easy but juggling that with work became really tiresome. I If you want anymore info then drop me a DM. Good luck with your decision! Cheers.
  5. Last one I remember winning was the season we won First division title. Arthur saved a penalty in the 70th odd minute and we went up the other end and scored - Hardie I think. Was that the last win?
  6. For Stevenson having such a bad game he laid the first goal on to Lawless and won the header on the half way line for the third goal. I also think he was the one in the middle of the park who created the shooting opportunity for Bannigan but cant be sure. He is not a player for craft. He is in there to do a job. To make us more solid, to win headers, to make tackles, to be 'box-to-box'. His role is to let the likes of Fraser, Bannigan, Higgy et al. get on the ball and create things. Yes, he will need to contribute with goals but lazy is not a word I would use to describe him
  7. Morally, I couldn't support anyone in a Thistle jersey who had previously been found guilty of rape - regardless of what the legal system does, or does not, say. I'd go as far to say that I would struggle to support Thistle if we had a convicted rapist in the team - young fans idolising a 'role model' goal-scoring number 9...who in his spare time doesn't have the discipline to stop himself from raping a women after drinking too much alcohol.
  8. If you ask me he's the Ozzy replacement.
  9. Why? Did we bid for these players and lose out because we couldn't afford them. Would Alan Gow be an inspired signing who would propel us into the Top6 ...or... should we hang fire and hopefully get another Higginbottom? Surely that risk is worth it rather than an Alan Gow whos agent whore him about during every transfer window.
  10. Cracking signing in my opinion.... http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2014/june_2014/ryan_stevenson_joins_thistle
  11. Lee Mair to be released - Bit surprising unless Archie has a replacement lined up - http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/partick-thistle/archibald-to-cut-jags-stopper-mair-loose-163288n.24207259
  12. If we really wanted to raise awareness it should be a pink home strip (with some discreet yellow and red to maintain tradition) Edited to add: just for a season
  13. Seems Lloyds (I think) are desperate to get out of Scottish football. All the debt in Scottish football has been written off and anything recovered is basically a bonus. Sounds like theres a similar offer as the Dundee United one on the table for Killie. If they pay off X amount then they will potentially be debt free as well. It seems to hinge on the fact Michael Johnson doesn't have he cash though and Lloyds will settle if they find a sustainable business partner going forward. One caveat on the Dundee United offer includes 50% of all transfer fee's for the next 2 windows to the bank and then 40% of all transfer fee's in the 3rd window to the bank. if Steven Thomson plays his cards right then Dundee united could have a very bright future
  14. His form has been shit. He's half the player he was last year. He's had one good game since he made such a fuss about not signing a new deal. He gets bullied far too easily. He needs to get his head down, get his form back and stop bitching about on twitter
  15. Might not have to wait that long. Speaking to a guy I work with who runs one of the Killie Supporters clubs - thinks they could be in administration by Christmas. Fans boycotting, crowds of under 3,000, massive debts and a chairman who wants £2m to sell-up doesnt really add up.
  16. Herald says McMillan has turned down an offer from us in order to move to England.
  17. Not overly excited about Graham. Hope we dont change our style and start to go long. OK as a back up plan as long as Doolan signs on & starts the season as first choice.
  18. Hope Doolan is on that list...
  19. Agreed - the abuse is pathetic. Given the way we portray ourselves as a club some of the 'fans' need to look at themselves. Absolutely embarrassing. Sorry to see them go but the club is always bigger than a couple of players
  20. Wouldnt touch Graham - encourages the long ball and by all accounts his attitude is stinking - not what we need. The ginger full back from Accies - Ziggy something was always decent - Id take him Bachirou wouldnt excite me much either
  21. I have to admit I find it strange that Judas has singled out these two. Erskine, on his day, is a match for anyone in the country but he can silenced - especially in the Scottish game. Paton is a solid holding midfielder but we have coped adequately without him. Look at their signing last summer for first division - Michael gardyne. He was a player who really impressed me yet has rarely featured anywhere but from the bench - do Paton & Erskine want this if they don't hit the ground running? Disappointed if they go but I would think its purely a financial decision which is fair enough but can be very short-sighted in football
  22. It's always a great time to be a Thistle fan
  23. Love the fact shaggy still wears number 5 on club gear!
  24. Would be a loss but not the end of the world. We've lost better and always coped! Not sure he's up to that standard to be honest but it was clear he was a favourite of Jackies
