  1. Then there can be only one winner..... @Mon the Dons....
  2. Don't think you could say that Paton "lost his way". He has played in a Scottish Cup final and been capped since leaving. United lost their way rather than him. If he signs for St. Johnstone I expect he will do a good job for them too.
  3. I don't think you can disregard the number of games. Your suggestion would mean the top Division side playing two games more in which to collect injuries or suspensions and poentially get "leggy" as the saying goes. I think the system is fair enough. We may just have to disagree!
  4. If the team that finishes 2nd in the Championship makes the final (as Falkirk have) they will play 38 games before the play-off final, same as the second bottom Premiership team. Falkirk actually have an extra day off. While their games have been more competitive than Killie's last two, maybe that can be beneficial. Main bias to Premiership team is they get to play away first but Falkirk had the same benefit against Hibs. I think the set up is OK on balance.
  5. At St. Mirren in the cup earlier this season?
  6. Excellent. See you there then! We can all laugh at Hibs... Then hope that they win the Scottish Cup!
  7. Anyone know if the Aitken Suite is open from 11?
  8. Do you actually know that is how it went down? Is it not possible that we just needed the money? Crowds were awful last year and we lost cash. That gap had to be filled. Player sales (of which we have had relatively few) is a quick way to do it.
  9. That was the performance I had hoped we would give at Firhill earlier in the season. We are better than we were then and they are worse. Probably the best chance to come away from Parkhead with a result that we could have had. However if we keep that level of performance up we will get a second chance this season. Players gave everything and deserved the applause at the end. Big games coming up in the Cup and the league. Would be good to get an increased number of fans to back the team, especially at Firhill.
  10. I saw those Dundee figures on BBC as well: mental! Sevco also promising to overspend to get promoted. I seriously hope they continue their implosion. Hibs and Falkirk top two would be brilliant, if too much to hope for!
  11. Truth is there is very little between most teams in this Division. The breaks we never got in the first 9 games we've had in the last 9. Archie's no better or worse than he was previously and neither is the playing squad. If County had taken advantage of our mistakes at Firhill we could have been 2 or 3 down by half time. Had that happened we would be joint bottom with Killie now and the moaners would be out in force. As it happens, we didn't though: we got out of jail and got the break for the OG also then finished the game off professionally and are now in 6th. The next two games are really tough and the likelihood is we will get nothing. Decent performances are important for morale but any points at all would be a bonus for me. Dundee at Firhill on the 16th is a big one! Hopefully St. Miirren continue on the Alex Rae trajectory.....
  12. Terrible first ten minutes, but after that we were the better team. BBC stats show us out-shooting them 19-10 and 8-1 for on target. Some really nice passages of play at different points and some abysmal distribution from the back (you know who you are....)! Really good performance from Mustapha. Obviously a freak winner but I think we deserved the luck that has not come our way in some other games. Results elsewhere also good though Sellick failed us. Hopefully we can do what they can't and beat Killie next week. Crowd was really disappointing given that we were offering free entry to what is a substantial portion of the NW Glasgow population. Not sure what else the club can do to attract punters if we can't fill seats for free. Answers on a postcard...
  13. We only want the hard working, focused ones, not the wasters.....
  14. Great news on the face of it but in reality impossible to assess without full details which will hopefully not only be forthcoming, but be palatable. Time and disclosure will tell.
  15. I think you will find it is an example of top quality trolling.
  16. And hey presto, everything is fixed! You should be CEO of a major company if you aren't already.
  17. If we are utterly abject, disorganised and get gubbed by United, then maybe. However, we haven't been like that in any of the games I have seen thus far. What if the team play out of their skins, have stonewall penalties denied, on-side goals chalked off and players sent off for nothing only to go down 1-0 to a last minute goal deflected in deliberately by the ref? Should defeat spell Archie's demise? We have been ok in most games this season and should have won against Killie and Dundee. Had we done so, we wouldn't be doing great, but would be better off and this thread wouldn't exist. There is not much between teams in this league and I think we can still get up the table with Archie at the helm.
  18. I agree that we are not that bad. We are not getting pumped or totally outplayed the way I have seen Killie this season, but we DO need points badly. Next week is the biggest one since yesterday... Don't think you could describe us as keeping in touch with the rest, more that they (or at least one or two) are keeping in touch with us by losing. Hope the players and management keep their heads up and concentrate on getting a win next week and never come on here!
  19. Wilson is a good young player, but I think he had more misplaced passes than anyone else in the team on Sunday (I didn't count btw, just my impression). Regardless, he certainly wouldn't have been my MotM. Sure he will make a decent contribution to the side over the season though.
  20. Club may be happier to have away games midweek. Crowds are always lower and hospitality harder to sell midweek. In that case, someone else takes the hit rather than us.
  21. Most comments relate to what SHOULD have been. Ws should have been more positive. County were positive at Parkhead and didn't hammered. We were at home against a team that had played on the eastern side of Europe in 30C heat. We never even tried to take advantage of those circumstances.
  22. Agreed, but Collins is full of pish. He moaned incessantly about the ICT handball in the Scottish Cup semi despite having done it himself when playing for Scotland.
