  1. "Dundee play some good football and are in a better place than us." They might play some good football, but five defeats in a row and bottom of the table quite clearly shows that they are not in a better place than us. The Killie comments are nothing other than vague opinion, not one person on here will have seen enough of them to know much about their prospects. The only fact is that they aren't doing any better than we are right now. So therefore, nonsense.
  2. Not bad at all and don't see a problem with the sponsors logo since it blends in ok with the top.
  3. Same fee will just be because its been widely reported that Thistle have accepted a fee of either £250k or £350k, so there is no need for any other club to bid higher for him. Any club with any interest in him now is only going to bid a similar figure. There might not be a release clause in his contract, but it seems like Thistle must have had an agreement with him that any fee above a certain amount, they wouldn't stand in his way.
  4. It gets even worse, BBC reporting it as £250,000 with potential add ons and future sell on fee.
  5. Just heard Ian McCall on Radio Scotland say he doesn't know what Archie's thoughts are but he thinks it might be a job that would interest him. I'm not sure why though if he already turned down Shrewsbury? Added to the fact that Swindon are already relegated so will be in League Two next season. I suppose it depends on if Archie really does believe there is more room for improvement at Firhill, or if the budget constraints will make him think this is as far as he can go.
  6. Terrific news. It's great to see the Weir's investment continues to be well thought out and gives the club something to try and build upon.
  7. Forever a Jag, RIP Robert.
  8. Ross County (h) Celtic (a) Motherwell(h) Rangers (a) Don't think there's a huge difference in the upcoming games to be honest, except we have County at home while they are away to Inverness. We really need a win from the game next week after throwing away points today and last week.
  9. Exactamundo. The fact that St Johnstone will once again finish comfortably in the top six playing their efficient style of football while we, yet again, flatter to deceive and flounder in the bottom half is very frustrating. If a team continually plays well for at least part of a game and rarely takes their chances and end up losing or drawing, the only place they are heading is the relegation places. In Scottish football, entertainment is a long way down the list of priorities and has been for years.
  10. Good luck to Banton, but bit-part player in the fourth tier in England? Not going to be much different/better than Amoo is he?
  11. Considering he didn't really make the step up from U20's to League One while on loan at Cowdenbeath, isn't it more likely that's he's not really good enough period, and the suitability of the U20 set up has nothing to do with it? We had reserve team football for years and had countless young players that weren't good enough to make the step up then too. Why would bringing it back make things any different?
  12. Its a shame Ziggy never managed to live up to high expectations we had for him. He seems to be a good guy, and good luck to him in Poland.
  13. They're not that bad. Go with black shorts and they'll do ok. In saying that the other thread with the NASL team (Fort Lauderdale Strikers is it?) and most of potty trained's mock-ups show that it's really pretty easy to come up with something better, so not sure why Joma and Thistle keep making it look so difficult.
  14. He is a bit of a bellend and I think the BT Sport commentators were all a bit surprised with him post match. He didn't like getting asked about the penalty did he? https://twitter.com/...918003154489344
  15. This is it in a nutshell, but that is always the difference between an ok team and the better quality sides. We are painfully slow at times but far better and more expensive teams than Thistle can be just as ponderous.
  16. That's it in a nutshell ian_mac. It might be dodgy journalism, but particularly in this case, pure greed from Allardyce not just to walk away.
  17. Working fine for me right now, and was on earlier today without any problem too.
  18. Good luck to Pogba, it just didn't really work out for him. Glad to see him go. Edit and he's obv been released so he can sign for for another club. @SpartaRotterdam Hpoefully get another striker in to replace him, DR reports we're after two players before the deadline today.
  19. Looks great. But I went to read the report of the result of the Development's squad game v Dundee United. Thread about the 2-1 win was posted by smokiejag on the night of the game. 6 days later. Nowt. Nothing in the news section either? https://ptfc.co.uk/p...rd-august-2016/
  20. Just thinking that myself. Didn't know them personally, but Ricky & Chico will forever be fondly remembered at Firhill. Sad news indeed. RIP.
  21. Don't St Johnstone do quite well out of corporate events in the stadium? Conference & restaurant facilities etc. Plus they are far less of a yo-yo club than Thistle have been in recent years.
  22. Strip itself is good, the yellow trim on the red shorts/socks helps and the fuzzy hoops look good when you see them properly. The Kingsley logo looks awful though, but that's true for any kit with a logo stuck on the front of it with no attempt to blend it into the kit.
  23. I hate goal music but I think I'd love a roar and some shooting fire breath from a giant Kingsley after every Thistle goal.
