  1. Knew there was something up with SOD. As PT says hasn't looked the same player this season. Just best wishes to him and hopes for a speedy and successful recovery.
  2. Let me help with that. The fact is Archie will be given another season at least. Even if, as seems likely, we end up in the play off final, I think we've more than enough to stave off the likes of Falkirk or Accies. No guarantees of course but on our day we're a match for most teams in the Premiership, never mind the league below. In January Archie made some good signings and its not his fault Sir Isaac, Sean and Conrad got injured. How much more resilient would we have been with these guys in the team?. Some of Archies decision making is suspect as we all know, Fir Park being a prime example of that, but he was thrown in at the deep end and took us up. I dont think he's learning as quickly as I would like and seems incapable of influencing the flow of games as other managers in this league can. However as long as he does learn we'll be alright next season. What concerns me more is the hoofball we've been employing recently to a far greater extent than before, and the capitulations we've seen on more than one occasion. That being said the majority of our squad have been asked to take a step up and some have proved incapable of that. The truth is some of our football this season has been sublime and Archie has to be credited with that. I think we'll be far more solid next season which means our creative attacking play will bring far more points. Theres plenty to sort out, and the next 5 matches, hopefully not 7, are all against teams we've already proved more than capable of beating, so chin up lads.
  3. No matter how you look at it, Gabby represents a great big gaping hole in the middle of our defence. SOD has been a liability for months. For me, McMillan, Mair, Conrad and ATS. Gallo is still good enough but the man needs protection.
  4. Cheered me up no end today. Cheers Buddy. great job.
  5. Of the two teams its the real Thistle who are the fresher and in form side. Its a great opportunity but wont be easy. ICT are in their league position for a reason.
  6. Better get Spock onto that one Banderas. The computer cannae handle aw that Data.
  7. United will destroy sevco no matter where the games at. A plague on both their houses though. Although i might relent on Thompson if he gives us Chris back permanently.
  8. Ye canny break the laws of Physics cap'n. Improbable but of course possible Banderas.
  9. I remember that one. And people call him a throbber. He may be, but at 27 still learning about life. As are we all, Sadly I've had a lot longer to do my learning . I have though had the good fortune never to deal with some dick wishing ill health on my child.
  10. Disgusting ****wits. Is this the same mob that threw lukewarm pies at us after the play off ?. # Nohungerinrabluetoon
  11. Congratulations to Paul. Its always great to see Jags, former or current, get international call ups. The Paton hatefest is shit IMHO. He,s just a boy and cut him some slack.
  12. I saw this thread title and thought someones at the wind up. But no? You do wonder what people want sometimes. Archie is doing a good job under difficult learning conditions and is hardly responsible for some of our squad failing to finish chances I'd convert. He's not perfect but I've yet to meet anyone who is, ever. We have a manager who came in last season and absolutely turned it around with that great run. I'm pretty sure Archie and Shaggy are trying to iron out our defensive horror shows but we just dont have the quality in those positions. It'll come. One year in and after getting to the promised land, and being above the play off place right now, and some want change? Not me.
  13. Theres no way this tournament should be played in Qatar. These people consider us all to be animals, a bit rich considering their own highly developed sense of altruism and fair play. we all know the good of the game was sacrificed to give it to these ********, so a boycott seems like a great idea. I wonder how much was stuffed in the brown envelope?
  14. There's a more basic requirement than having a Plan B. And thats playing to the evident strengths available in Plan A. Plan A has us bombing up with the full backs pretty much all game. This pulls the centre two out of position and they're not quick enough to cope. It needs to be mixed up more with them staying back if its not really on. It shouldnt be automatic. Plan A needs us to make something of set pieces, or indeed, show some clue how to defend them. And also to back up the lone striker with a closely supporting 3. None of that is happening. A lots been made of missed chances in terms of points lost, but right now it would be great to just make a few decent ones. You cant blame strikers who dont get a sniff.
  15. Not surprised by this at all.Shit referee who deserves the chop. Thought cheating wasn't allowed by refs?. That being said, how awful was that?.At home to one of the worst teams in the league, and they had us sussed. The bad news is, so now does everyone. When Banzo ducked out of Aberdeens free kick what message did that send out?. Thistle can be bullied, end of.
  16. Aye,my Dad,my 2 brothers and me.That was the best day. Went to every game that season. That season started with 3-2 win against deadco when Roughie saw a Derek Johnstone shot come back off the bar into his arms with 5 left at Firhill. And it just got better and better.
  17. That was entirely predictable from the moment Doolz hit the keeper with that sitter. It seems like a confidence thing.Five games at Firhill and two penalty goals to show for it. Thats relegation form. Its not just misfiring in front of goal, its getting there. The final cross has by and large been absolutely pants and our set pieces rank rotten.Bet it wasn't just me who predicted how far the late free kick was going over.Or that our corners would be as well being passed to their keeper. Sounds like a rant and it is,but its not all negative. We do play attractive passing football and can outplay most sides in this league, but they all have something we dont, they're clinical up top.The confidence issue is only going to get worse. If its annoying for us,how must the players feel after again dominating a game and getting hee haw?
  18. If it was their first against our kids, and it would have had to been our kids, then no big deal.
  19. My Dad and Granddad.Lambhill boys the two of them.Plus,we're ******* brilliant.
  20. iirc it all started when Killie trooped up to a packed Firhill in what was widely anticipated as the title decider in the first season of the First Division in I think 1977? A big away support, some crowd naughtiness and a fine 2 0 Thistle. After that for a while we never failed to beat them.Usually 1 0 even if they'd played us off the park.Usually Donald Park in the 85th. Then we had the famous Bobby Houston who came on for Killie at Rugby Park as sub after an acrimonious move from Thistle, assaulted 2 Thistle players and vickied the bench.Time on pitch before seeing red....45 seconds. Next match at Firhill on he comes in the second half to be greeted with "On for a minute, you're only on for a minute." Happy days.
  21. I'm in Crawley in West Sussex.Am trying to get a squad together from my local here for a weekender in Scotland.I will post if its a goer.Shortage of Saturday games it seems. Will be up for Killie but not this weekend.
  22. Aye thats right,BUT no-one is making more chances,or playing constant attacking football more than us.Someone prolific to finish them off would be great.
