  1. I think Miller will be a great signing for us. How can you compare him to Doolan? One has played at a high level, one is a nice guy. Guys like Miller could play for another 5 year in this league
  2. Livingston are in the Premier League. Did they get their trophy taken away from them? There doesn't seem to be any consequences to going bust. Look at that Govan mob. They're still cheating their way to stop Celtic winning 10 in a row.
  3. Doolan is a Thistle Legend. Its in the history books. I don't think his signing for Ayr will come back to haunt us though. Its good if your getting into double figures if your a midfielder but we need a striker to be scoring 20 odd goals a season.
  4. What ethos is that? Mediocre up and down cuddly toy losers? Would it really be that bad if we started winning major cups or even just seeing a quality footballer back in the red and yellow? After all these years supporting Thistle, a little bit of success is the least us suffering fans deserve. There is no guarantee that this supposed takeover would bring any success, but we can all dream.
  5. This forum is a complete joke. People getting there knickers in a twist and accusing people of being racists for comments which could barely be described as offensive. I wouldn't like to be in a lot of your companies as you take things far too serious. The world is ****** and its down in small part to this over sensitiveness over comments which are scrutinised to death. I come on here to see about signings etc. and have to read through 3 pages of absolute shite.
  6. Adam and Steve. I almost think they want us all to join the bandwagon. Im all for inclusivity but that should be a given and is more a social issue. If that's the message then that's OK.
  7. Or maybe its because mediocre is more acceptable at Firhill. The expectation of, say Erskine, to perform consistently at a high level was never achieved. At us, we accepted that for every bad game he could have an outstanding one.
  8. If Elliott is going to be kept on as our highest paid player, then im jumping on the sack the board bandwagon too.
  9. As much as I am disappointed about the news of Doolan leaving, we really do need a complete rebuild. Sentiment doesnt win games and its that jobs for the boys philosophy thats got us where we are now. By the looks of it, the manager has identified what he needs and who is surplus to requirements. Forget the nonsense about keeping players because we sing about a goal scored against Airdrie 6 years ago. Its a successful team I want. Remember, were not that cuddly anymore
  10. Aye, lets get Jackie back. I'll no be going back to a game this season. Its nowhere near good enough
  11. Bring back the good times, bring back McNamara. This is tragic
  12. I think that speaks volumes. Even with the bunnett in charge, if memory serves me well, we took a sizeable crowd to tynecastle. With the prospect of beating an average Hearts team a semi final against inverness, and we only took a paltry support, it would surely represent a vote of no confidence in the team in its entirety.
  13. That was the first time ive left the ground before half time. It was shocking viewing and how we managed to still be in the draw ill never know. Hearts are not a great team and if we had been a half decent team ourselves would have an unbelievable chance of major cup final. I agree with an earlier post regarding cardle, he will be the difference this year
  14. Football is a fickle business, if your no winning your out on your arse
  15. Saturday at 4 bells I dared to dream of a promotion playoff place. By 10 on tuesday night we are concerned about relegation. Theres only one realistic target now. Stay up, clear out and build again.
  16. Maybe because we dont have as much money to keep paying off managers
  17. What is Kenny Arthur doing these days? It surely cant be coaching our keepers to stand on their line not commanding that big rectangular area that only they can use their hands in
  18. When you sign 'footballers' that never play professionally ever again, i think its quite apt. We have went from having a bright future to an unknown one in that space of time. Unbelievable
  19. How did that get missed when he was interviewed? Were we that short of quality candidates? Its all about timing though, we were a club going down, Caldwell hasnt improved it. Two year ago at least we were still an attractive proposition and would have had better options. Its funny how those that didnt really give Caldwell a chance are the ones who campaigned heavily not to sack Archie. Someone said about giving a forum user credit for constantly hounding our current manager, if they only could have seen the disasterous path the previous clown took us down and hounded him out sooner, we might just be as good as Livingston instead of staring into the abyss
  20. Aye they might well be here, but Id doubt we will have a team capable of pushing for promotion for a while, hopefully not as long as the last time
  21. With the exception of Harkins who was strangely given an 18 month deal most of the signings in January were about keeping us up. How many will be at the club next season? Doolan looks like his race has been run however it doesnt help when you are given no service at all. If we are to ever push for promotion back to the top flight, i cant see it involving any of the current squad never mind the manager
  22. Given credit? For acting like a daft 12 year old wee lassie, gloating at every defeat. As for last night, I didnt go with a red and yellow gary caldwell scarf. I went to cheer us on expecting the unexpected, sadly it was all too familiar. So you want to sack the boy, my question is, what do we do next? This debacle has been years in the making and is not something that will easily be changed. Its a total rebuild that is required now, not a few players. Is Caldwell the man? He's under severe pressure for sure, but whoever is in charge next season faces a difficult job
  23. Cardle is the only player i can think of who was missing that will make a difference. McDonald was disappointing. Missed a glorious chance from a corner, probably easier than the ones they scored from.
  24. Just in from the game but I knew there would have been umpteen posts from Sandybaws as usual. We were absolutely toothless and didnt make their keeper work at all in the 2nd half and only once in the first. The best move of the match was broken down by wee Aiden who was mince the night. If he had did better with that we should have been looking at 1 each. We controlled the game without creating anything which frankly is a waste of time. We looked like 11 strangers at times with no clue, which has been ever too present for the past few years. We conceded from 2 corners, again the first within minutes of the 2nd half kicking off. They were never in the game, only attacking from our own mistakes and shitebaggery. Wee Soulymane was the only one showing any sort of urgency. Is it Caldwells fault wee Aiden couldnt trap a bag of cement tonight? Would sacking and bringing in a new manager make a difference this late in the season? The cards have been dealt, its upto them now to keep us up
  25. Did we not also beat Inverness away who gave us a first half hammering earlier in the season? Easy to forget said results when you try to paint a dark picture
