  1. We've got players who are match fit and play in that position. McCarthy anyone? Still not understanding Archie's reluctance with him and Penrice. Would much rather see one of these guys in there instead of Paton.
  2. Pace will be our friend tomorrow. Storey, Edwards, whether or not Muzzy plays, even Sammon is quick when he gets going. Hamilton struggle to deal with pace, and their surface means there will be a lot of awkward bouncing balls for CBs to judge. A quick player running at them adds to the pressure. Let's get at them with some of that.
  3. Christie will be playing for the dev team on Friday. He won't be ready.
  4. One game at a time. One win breeds confidence again. But this is one we will need to really earn over the 90. Hamilton will be looking at the last couple of weekends and thinking we're vulnerable, particularly in the first and last 10, so they'll be going at us. A wildly optimistic person might say we could use that to counter. This will be the standard NDP game for us. Not a lot of quality predicted.
  5. Glad they took their time and waited to get their man. Looking forward to some new and interesting names in the assistants too....
  6. Great news. I would like to see the youngsters get some more game time towards the end of the season, and hopefully we will be able to afford to do that out of choice rather than necessity.
  7. My 4 month old kid is still a little bit short of looking after himself at home. I'm a bad fan.
  8. After reading the post match analysis in here of the other night's game, may I revise my answer? I now believe we will finish 13th.
  9. Every time I hear talk of moving from Firhill, I can't help but think of Clyde and St Mirren. The Firhill land likely won't ever be valuable enough to provide us with the funds (or the ambition?) to build anything with character and identity. As decrepit as Firhill may be, it's unmistakably our home.
  10. We really need the away form to come good, and those returning players to boost the confidence of the squad. I'll go for 9th, and be satisfied with that.
  11. Woah. Even though there must be dozens of hands for this process to go pass, and a myriad of chances for some little stitch to be dropped, please don't apply reasoning to this. Just get on with blaming the club with the rest of us!
  12. Before or after the club start revoking season books in the JHS for the holder not singing enough?
  13. This has gone well. Good work in here guys.
  14. Hospitality is definitely an interesting industry! At least in the Courtyard bar, everyone was speaking the same language. Back to the football, let's hope Woods is ok for another hour at least tomorrow. Having a midfield anchor makes a load of difference to our team. Protects the defence, and frees up the midfield to push further forward. That last point is important when we choose to go a bit more direct, like we did in the first half on Weds.
  15. Same place I started my career, behind the bar. What a place that was. Still haven't made it to the premier league though!
  16. I blame St Johnstone for the downturn in this thread.
  17. I think the term desperation signing is apt when you're desperate. This would suit both parties at the moment.
  18. Agree with all of this. We were talking about how we could change it 2nd half, because we all like change and it always works, but I really didn't see any change that jumped out as obvious. 3 centre backs, with Barton's natural tendency to drop deeper as the game goes on, really invites teams on to us.
  19. Unfortunate not to get the penalty. Both teams playing 'try not to lose' and desperately low on confidence. That pitch is a joke so I will refrain from judging the performance too much. Horrible feeling is we might need to limp to January with what we have. Left back (although Lawless did really well) and central midfield are extremely vulnerable.
  20. Yeah. The media and the authorities have no appetite to tackle the problem, for fear of the big (expensive) huff. BBC print any old guff coming out of Ibrox without question or analysis, just in case there's another 'ban' coming their way.
  21. Ever go fishing and catch ALL the fish? But if you take enough out of one area of the pond, the others will notice. /Cantona
  22. Jags fans rise above the rest, as ever. Great work.
  23. Suppose Hearts are a bit of an unknown quantity since the 'change' of manager. Don't think that'll stop us having a go at them though. 3 points and things start to look brighter.
