Agree. I thought after he scored that goal it would have given him a lot of confidence and he would kick on from there. Sadly for Thistle it never and he was a very poor player for us. I think I am right in saying it was his first stint at ICT where he made his name, if he can regain that form again he will be a big player for them. But if he plays as he has done for us he will be no threat.

I was one of those who would have liked to have seen Goodwin as Thistle manager. But so far you would need to say that Caldwell has done better so far, we are in the last 16 of the league cup, St. Mirren are not. I hope Caldwell continues to be the better manager, because that means Thistle will be doing well.

I prefer more experienced/mature.

How will the new season pan out in the Championship ? I think the 2 Dundee clubs will be the top 2, with Utd winning the league. I think 3rd and 4th place will be between, Thistle, Morton and ICT. Dunfermline, QOS and Ayr will be going for 6th,7th and 8th. With Alloa 9th and Arbroath 10th. I know there is still a month of the transfer window to go, also a possible takeover to take into consideration. If we are not up the top half of the league pushing for a play off place, it will be another poor season.

I also have the 1971 league cup winning scarf. I haven't bought a top for years. Robert always liked buying a new Thistle top when they came out. His birthday was in July and any money he got always went on buying a Jags top. Since he died I always have one of his tops on when at a Thistle match.

Kenny Miller on Radio Scotland saying he is enjoying it at Firhill, rates Caldwell as a good manager and we are going for promotion. Just what you would expect him to say, or will it happen. We will find out as the season goes on.

Less than 700 at livi today. Listening to Radio Scotland today most of the pundits think Thistle will be in the play offs. With both Dundee teams going for the league but they think Dundee Utd will win the league, because they have the best strikers.

If I remember correctly, last season we had to wait to the Sunday and hope Hearts beat ICT by a few goals so that we qualified for the last 16. So good to be relaxed and watching other teams sweating on whether they go thru or not. When is the draw for the last 16 ?

Dundee have signed striker Danny Johnson from Motherwell. Also ICT have loaned 9 players to Fort William. Fort William have not won a league game in the last 2 seasons, and we think following Thistle can be trying.

We won the games I thought we should. I wasn't sure how we would do at Hamilton. I think getting a point was a good result. As you say we have won the group. So job done. A few other clubs wouldn't mind being in our position. Big test when the league gets underway.

The Thistle twitter page saying it was a great save by David Mitchell. So well done to Mitchell for the great save and also well done to the ref and linesperson for getting it right. My red and yellow tinted specs let me down.

I thought it did look over the line. Not as bad as Dools ghost goal last season. But I did think it was a goal. Anyway we won , so no harm done. Onwards and upwards, hopefully.

I was in my usual position behind the goal at the right hand side. The side the keeper saved it at . I would say without a doubt it was over the line, before the keeper pushed it back out. Never mind just like Doolan's ghost goal last season we still won.

Miller's second goal was over the line, no doubt in my mind about that. We should have won more easily. Need to sort out our defence, or we will probably need to score at least 2 goals in a game to get anything from league games. On the positive side we won the group and in the last 16.

Couldn't agree more. He sent Robert a Christmas card after hearing about Thistle fans sending cards to Robert in hospital.

On one hand its simple, 3points and we win the group and qualify for the last 16. On the other hand it's Thistle and we never make things simple. Lets hope for a good crowd.
