  1. Interesting to hear about Norway. It's currently the shining light the SNP are currently looking towards. Before it was Ireland. Then it was Iceland. Where will it be next? Maybe they will move onto Sweden but as with all countries they have negatives and positives and their own set of issues they need to deal with. If you want to change something such as splitting a country up then you need to state what are the benefits but at the moment it's all soundbites, mottos and then reverse questions of "can you tell me what will happen if we remain in the UK?"
  2. Yeah staying in the SPL with the money it brings outweighs £50k. £250k is another matter though! McAleer has only been playing Juniors. Good luck to the boy but he is way off playing first team SPL football.
  3. They are a reasonably sized team. £50k is peanuts. We must remember we are a selling club so any money is good but not that pittance. Def need to think about getting an Erskine replacement before punting Lawless.
  4. Who would have thought so many Thistle fans were bitchy fashionistas? It's like "Ugly Betty" on here.
  5. Can Nomads send him some protein shakes? After the title celebrations all the boys were ripped which is great to see that they take care of themselves. Archie is a machine. Baird looks like me (mid thirties, slowing metabolism, best position "organiser of the game") in a football top about to play fives.
  6. Who is wearing the away top? Is that our new striker? Got a bit of a gut on him.
  7. I agree with SOD and very happy he is with us. Archie is our manager. Don't care about McNamara.
  8. Was hoping for hooped socks. Really like hooped socks for some reason.
  9. No. Plus think it's bad effort trying to get political. Let's be positive and feel good but create splits due to political views. That is for AOB and is generally good natured if it rarely flares up.
  10. Common folks let's get some board representation and get a player sponsored.
  11. Sounds to me the club's hands are tied. Maybe if we had a bigger home support we would be able to restrict the number of tickets we have to give to Celtic but we are not in that position. Respect to JJ for coming on here and communicating with us.
  12. Ross Forbes. More time on the ball. Fitness up from the beginning of the season. His attitude is good, he always wants the ball, confident in posession and has a sweet delivery - note the cross for Doolan to equalise in Challenge Cup Final. Just need to have a midfield partner who can cover his lack of pace.
  13. Think the defense is now sorted. We have Muirhead, Balatoni and McMillan with Archie as backup centre half. O'Donnel and McMillan can play RB. Sinclair and Bannigan can black LB. So first choice and cover is there. Also got some youth to blood as we started at Dumbarton last game of the past season. Outstanding is replacement for Paton, centre midfield to bolster it up and Erskine, attacking spark. A special player who can conjure something out of nothing.
  14. I wonder what we will do with the extra cash that was not budgeted for? That's a nice wee bonus and development for start of season.
  15. I think we should all take a deep breath and compose ourselves. If we are unhappy then we should contact the club in a polite and sensible manner. If they understand the feeling we have then they may change their mind. onethistle and The North Stand have been great and will continue to be great. Give Celtic the Main Stand and part of the Jackie Husband if need. Keep the North Stand as Thistle. The fixtures are not out. Nothing is set in stone. It can be changed.
  16. I was really meaning what rows, seats, areas are available.
  17. Stupid question but if I am getting a season ticket on my own as my friend says he will pay at the gate despite the benefits to himself and club how do I know what seat to choose? Is there an online seating plan? I would probably sit anywhere with him and his Under 16 nephew but good to have a fall back seat for a busy game like against the 'fugees.
  18. Made me spit out my water over office keyboard. "Carry On Thistle". Cue Sid James hearty laugh.
  19. Season tickets are on the up! Join the momentum. http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2013-2014/june_2013/season_ticket_sales_on_the_up
  20. I do like Falkirks concentration on youth so have to give the club some respect. Combining youth setups as described above does make sense. Economies of scale, more players through the door, one vision of technique and skill (hopefully) and the teams involved have a natural pecking order in size and success. Would like to see Thistle and Queens Park co-operating more in a mutally beneficial way.
