  1. Do you know what the alternatives were ?
  2. Fox is a good example. Over several seasons he has proven himself at this or a higher level and last season was the keeper for the League Champions. He is not a bad keeper. Yet, under 2 managers at Thistle he has been in steady decline, suggesting that it is not him, or the managers that are the problem. We have others like him in this and previous squads who had been proven players at our level, yet fail to play to that standard under successive managers
  3. Lets be honest. Since we finished top 6, we have had 4 boardrooms. Beatie & Co, JLo & Co, Beatie & Co Mk2, Interim board. That is more changes of boardroom than changes of manager, and we have a 5th in the pipeline. None of them have covered themselves in glory. To suggest that certain board members should be thanked for what they did in this period is quite frankly ludicrous. At best you could say that Beatie took his eye off the ball when blinded by the light of cash that he may or may not have been expecting to see again, however I would suggest that there is incompetence across the lot of them. I only hope that the fan run board, who ever they are has some plan to get us out of this mess. I am no fan of McCall, but there is no point in making any managerial changes until the top level structure of the club is sorted.
  4. Sorry but you are delusional if you think we can win 4 home games in a row, having only won 2 all season.
  5. I would at best say ambivalent, at worst, they don't know who we are. Only 2 teams that they care about one way or the other.
  6. I deleted that myself as it may have been causing offence, which was not my intention
  7. Don't get me wrong, I was not defending Caldwell. He had lost all credibility and had to go. I just think that we could have done better when replacing him.
  8. Appointing McCall was not right (and I said so from the start) 1. It was a lazy decision from a board that was needing good PR as at the time the Consortium buyout was falling on it's arse and they had lost the backing of Colin Weir. It was the appointment that the fans wanted, so they could get some quick brownie points. I'm not sure who else would have been available, but judging by the timescales, I don't believe that they looked very hard 2. By his own admission, the decision to come was a heart over head. It's great that McCalls heart is with The Jags, but we need a manager using his head to get out of the mess that we were in. It also calls to question his professional judgement when he had an Ayr team looking like promotion candidates at the time. 3. I don't know if there are any truths in the rumours around his previous departure (I've never seen them denied), but this was basicaly the same board that reappointed him, so they should know. If there is any truth to them, he should never have been allowed near Maryhill Rd. ever again. 4. Some may find it amusing, but as above, if there is any truth in the shoe defecation story then I would not want anyone who considers this acceptable conduct anywhere near my club. On Caldwell, I think that at times he was unlucky (transfer budget pulled, the collapse at Morton, the double sending off v Ayr) however I'm much rather have a lucky manager than a good manager.
  9. Just because a decision is popular does not mean it is either right or good. The board are there to make hard decisions that are right for the club, not necessarily what the fans want.
  10. In the same way that you can give an infinite number of monkeys an infinite number of typewriters you will get the works of Shakespeare
  11. That might have happened even if the game had been played
  12. 3 at the back like against Arbroath. Please god no
  13. They say it’s the hope that kills you. Based on that (and an optimistic first post) I’ve given up hope. 1-3
  14. Not much choice so Aberdeen, Celtic and Rangers .... controversial or what ? Against all odds, I’ll predict that the numpty picking them doesn’t understand the hot and cold balls and so YES to a Celtic v Rangers semi
  15. Win 3 home games in a month ! Remind me again how many home league games we have won so far this season ?
  16. It wouldn’t be the first time that there were allegations of someone at the club betting against us
  17. Very attacking midfield and with the old reliable pairing of O’Ware and Saunders at the back, what could possibly go wrong ?
  18. With our current form and record in front of the cameras I won’t be holding my breath for a win
  19. Is there such a thing as enough caramel wafers ?
  20. Firhill is our major asset, yet it is only generating revenue for around 20 days per year (this is one of the biggest issues facing the football industry) any way to generate more revenue has to be explored by the club.
  21. Two wrongs don't make a right. Lets not do it in the future.
  22. I have doubts about the rest of you, but I’d do a better job than McCall. (Mutley for assistant).
