  1. I hope it's a left sided central defender
  2. Very much a feeling of relief after that. It was a bit of a makeshift side with Barton in a back 4 and Booth and Osman being unknown quantities after their time off. Souns as if Sammon was the difference as he finished his chances, while Dobbie missed his at the other end. In the hat for the next round and that is the important thing Edit to add ... Frazerborough next please.
  3. I wonder if Abdul could play central defense ? Far from ideal, but I don't like the idea of Barton in a back 4.
  4. It's a plastic pitch, so I'm not sure we should be rushing the injured players back too quickly, however I think that Penrice has to start, probably at left wing back Cerny McGinn Keown Barton Devine Penrice Spittal Woods McCarthy Erskine Sammon That is ....unless we sign a central defender today
  5. We have no idea what the terms were in Liam's contract, or how much Liam himself wanted to go
  6. But I do have to commit now, however I won't know if I can make it until Friday night/Saturday morning. I had been planning on a pay at the gate. I'll save it for Brechin or Fraserburgh in the next round
  7. Well that scuppers my plans to come up for the game.
  8. I suspect that it was his wage demands that we couldn't match, rather than anything to do with a transfer fee or sell on clause
  9. Will that be Live at Leeds, Hull or Charlton ? I do hope The Kids Are Aright
  10. According to this, Matthers also made the 54 squad https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1954_FIFA_World_Cup_squads#Scotland
  11. Simon Donnelly in 98 Derek Whyte in 98 (God we had a bad squad in that world cup with Jackie in there too !)
  12. I've got 4 more ..... David Harvey (is always the answer) 74 Peter Cormack 74 Mo Johnston 90 Murdo McLeod 90
  13. I was reading that FC Bayern have had a player in every World Cup final since 1982 1982: Breitner, Dremmler and Rummenigge for Germany 1986: Matthäus and Eder for Germany (D. Hoeneß as sub) 1990: Augenthaler and Kohler for Germany (Reuter) 1994: Jorginho for Brazil 1998: Lizarazu for France 2002: Kahn, Linke and Jeremies for Germany 2006: Sagnol for France 2010: Robben and van Bommel for the Netherlands (Braafheid) 2014: Neuer, Boateng, Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Kroos and Müller for Germany (Götze) I was wondering how many Jags, or former Jags had made it to the final tournament ? Rough I'm certain 78 and 82 Chalmers I think retired before 74 I'm struggling to think of others Edit: How could I miss Alan Hansen 82
  14. I'll take the easy one ..... Mo Johnston
  15. It didn't mention any club, but Ciftci will not be returning to Celtic, but will goto "another club" when his Plymouth loan ends. Might be interesting for us ?
  16. I just hope that he is happy to play at left back for a bit
  17. I suspect that there is a good reason why they stopped doing this in both USA and Japan.
  18. I was not aware that this was an either/or. I would hope that there is still a place for McCarthy, but lets be honest, beggars can't be choosers and I don't expect that there are many central midfielders who are available and have the potential tat Gaz does. Lets get off the guys back and see if we can bring out the player that we first signed.
  19. Well done allyo. partick76 and wayfarer.I bet you never thought you'd be so interested in a midweek game between Hamilton and Kilmarnock !
  20. Great confidence boosting win and, after all our trials and tribulations, we go into the break just 6 points away from top 6.
  21. If Sammon goes and we need another striker, how about Souleymane Coulibaly. He is available for free after it didn't work out in Egypt, and he certainly looked to have goals in him when at Killy
  22. May I offer Cozy Powell's Dance With The Devil
  23. And as soon as anyone says it on this forum .... We're Doomed ...... Doomed
