I know it hasn't worked out at Firhill, but I think that there is a player in there with the right team and he could be one that comes back to haunt us. Now lets get in that central defender.     No. He is a free agent, so we can still sign him outside of the window. What we can't do is sign a player who is currently contracted to another club

    Not expecting anything before the last few days of August. Archie has said many times that he's looking for a central defender, so I would be surprised if nothing happens before the end of the transfer window. maybe a loan signing. I think we can still get out of contract players after that, so 1st September might not be a deadline for us.

    The good news for our chances is that it looks as if Magennis (Killie) and Stewart (Dundee) will both be moving on. That can't harm our chances. Edit to add 1. Looks like Stewart has turned down Birmingham. Edit to add 2. Peterhead (H), QotS (H). Is there a reason why we don't get draws like this ? Must be just the luck of the draw
