  1. True; however Morton may feel that their best chance of a victory is to follow the same 'not to be beaten' tactics of pressing the opposition, doubling up on our full backs, etc.
  2. Craigan fits into the system better. We can't really have Ross sitting in front of the defence and James is more suitable to playing just behind the forwards.
  3. Bachirou is a decent defensive midfield player; he's not as good as Paul Paton though. Tidser would probably get a game ahead of Welsh, but there's not much in it. Not sure about Reid but he seems to be highly rated by the 'Ton fans. Left sided defender? better than Balatoni or Sinclair?
  4. But we played 442 with Muirhead at right back and SOD on the right side of midfield against Dunfermline in arguably our best peformance of the season: the 5-1 game against Dunfermline. SOD was sensational in that role that day. Let's go 442 again- possibly with Archie back in to offset the missing experienced players.
  5. McCall thought Cameron was an excellent coach, did he not?
  6. Forbes poor? I thought Forbes continued his excellent form today. His passing and technical ability on the ball were of a very high standard.
  7. It wasn't until Craig came on to play up along side McGuigan that we started to cause them problems. Erskine was out of sorts until the last 20 mins when he was excellent. We were unlucky today- not at our best but probably deserved to to take the tie to Fife.
  8. Bannigan has done well in the left back position but has not impacted a game in the way that Sinclair has in recent matches. I think only a real drop in form or injury will cost Sinky his place.
  9. I think this is our first team, although Doolan has a bit to do to 'cement' his place based on recent peformances.
  10. I agree. 'Erskine for Scotland' is surely the best option?
  11. -----------------Smith Muirhead-----Balatoni-----Archie------Sinclair O'Donnell-----Paton-----Forbes---------Lawless --------------Erskine --------------Doolan I think he'll go same team as sat with the obvious exception of keeper. Hamilton will probably sit back and defend deep so 442 to add more width to help stretch and draw them out. McGuigan will give us an option to be more direct if it's not working out.
  12. He's obviously had a couple of bad games, which I think fans will focus on, but the fact that he's been in two Scotland squads as well as having a B cap will tell us more about his form over a greater period of time. If he's fit I would play him on Friday.
  13. He may well be, but the point still remains: some of the abuse that I've heard being shouted at Stevie- and Erskine btw- this season and last has been rather unhelpful. Good to see both players dealing with it in the best possible way.
  14. I agree- those photos of the game are excellent. However, one disappointing aspect is- if you look at one of the pics of Stevie O'Donnell celebrating his goal it looks as though he is running towards the JH putting his finger to his lips in a 'shooshing' motion. Obviously aware of the wholly unmerited abuse dished out to him at times by some of the less descerning members of our support this season and last.
  15. I thought Foxy may have been at fault. Muirhead should not have been in a position where he has to play the ball, facing his own goal, on the edge of the six yard box. I think Scott should have dealt with it. Good ball in by Dunfermline though- into that area that's difficult to defend.
  16. Not at all. The bar arrangements weren't perfect but it wasn't a shambles. If you arrived in the Aitken suite after two for such a big game when we get chucked out at 2.30 then you should expect to to wait a time to get served. Having someone extra behind the bar would obviously have helped to reduce the queue waiting time, but, IMHO not by enough to get too bothered about. Jeez, almost forgot I saw the most exciting Partick Thistle team for decades beat their nearest rivals 5-1 yesterday.
  17. Aye maybe, but not a shambles. I was 10 -15 mins in the queue before I got served (spent 10 mins getting served in the Woodside after the game) But there again I arrived at the Aitken at 1.30. If you leave it to two and after- given that we get thrown out at 2.30 and it was such a big crowd, well then...
  18. I think we get chucked out at 2.30 anyway don't we? Expecting to get served at a busy bar and then drink up given this time frame is probably pushing it. Didn' t think it was a shambles; the bar arrangements were slow but orderly. I agree- the game was a joy to watch.
  19. https://picasaweb.google.com/parspix2012/PARTICKTHISTLE101112# Some great pics of the game from the Dunfermline photographer.
  20. Not saying that at all. I'm all for improving the match day experience; however given the unusual circumstances sometimes you have to cut people some slack . Waiting in a queue to get served hardly amounts to a bad experience. It was obvious it was going to be busy in there today; the bar staff were doing their best; they don't decide when the bar shuts.
