  1. As I recall the St Mirren board operates with 6 board members with 3 from their Trust. If the PTFC Trust have any aspirations it should be this!
  2. One representative on the board falls well short of any sort of fan ownership model that I'd find acceptable. Never mind everything else in the 6 pages of nonsense.
  3. I'm with you on this Sandy. I'm scunnered with all the shit that has gone on. I'm still 100% behind TJF but for now I'll find an alternative way of spending Saturday afternoons. I hope that a time will come in the near future that I'm desperate to get back to Firhill but right now I'm not sure if even promotion to the Premier would be enough to entice me back. Sad days.
  4. Rubber stamp if their approval process for rangers is any guide
  5. Watching Thistle often causes me to wish I'd taken plenty loo rolls
  6. Mrs fifexile has a very special birthday on Thursday this week (she turns 60). A membership to TJF seemed a very good choice as a birthday present. Delighted that her membership number is 865! Great to see the numbers still climbing. Wonder when it will break 1000?

    QP away

TBF injuries have dictated the set up in defence for the last 2 games. Can't imagine either Turner or McColl wanted him at RB. Expect Hodson will slot straight in tomorrow.
  8. Another great piece of detective work. I really enjoy reading these back stories.
  9. I might be shooting in the dark but does any potential owner of the shares have to pass a fit and proper test by the SPFL? I don't doubt that the Trust would pass the test (Jacquie has friends in high places) but surely objections from a wide fan base would at least get a decent amount of publicity and force the SPFL to review the track record of the Trust? (Criteria for membership, lack of elections, unaccountably etc.)
  10. Most important is that you get well as soon as possible BB. As and when sales restart I'd be happy for either any profits to be held and handed to PTFC at a point in the future when we own our club or donated to the charity that has recently been set up by Jags fans (sorry cant remember the name off hand).
  11. My concern is that Tiffony seems to be prone to picking up injuries. However if he can be used from the bench he might still be a key player. Ee relied far too much on him for creativity last season, hopefully with the stronger squad this year we can rely less on him.
  12. Because Duncasterand the rest of the blazers let them....makes no sense at all. Who in their right mind would see an issue of every game on Saturday being streamed....Sky won't be broadcasting any games so their precious viewing figures won't be affected. Just more proof that when it comes to Scottish football the SPFL board just hasn't got a clue, or the best interests of all but 2 of its members at its core.
  13. Apparently there will be no live streams of games this season because Sky won't allow them. Interested to see exactly how many games in the Championship and leagues 1 and 2 Sky intend to broadcast this season. In fact how many games not involving either of the ugly sisters they will cover. Also its been stated that the SPFL are 'continuing to discuss streaming with Sky'.... SPFL ' can we allow clubs to earn a bit more money by streaming games please?' SKY 'No, now sod off' SPFL 'Right you are' ....Quick, get a press release out saying we are in constant dialogue with Sky on streaming
  14. Just as likely the clubs don't want them injured in meaningless games given most carry a 1st team squad of around 20. The squad players can get a run out in the challenge and league cups.
  15. Time to dig out the flares (non explosive ones) and tank tops.
  16. £24 for Saturday's game. No PATG or online ticket sales according th the Thistle website.
  17. If the club is losing money providing printed programmes I'm more than happy to bin them but some digital version could be made available, after all a lot of the info is already published on linevin one f I rm or another. Pull the team lines, snippets of player and manager interviews, latest from the Academy and Women's teams and maybe a few choice bits from the Thistle Archive (assumin that they are happy to contribute) and it's pretty much there. Maybe get another sponsor or two to cover additional costs.
  18. While I'd far rather the round of 16 was an unseeded draw, I'd also want to see bookings in the group stages wiped for the knockout stages and then wipedfor the start of next season's competition. It's hard enough for teams to win the Cup from the group stage but even harder if you have suspensions hanging over from the group stage. Although Hibs amongst a few clubs must think bookings are just ignored whenever they happen
  19. Sort of saw it! Been an odd 1st half. Thought we would go on and score a few after the 1st one as we were dominating but thought we were so poor we would be lucky to go in 1 up then Holt stepped up.
  20. Anyone else having problems with the picture? It's constantly 'flickering' and it's virtually unwatchable.
  21. Craig Nelson was one who could make some great saves only to make a blunder later. I might be misremembering but I recall him diving under a shot by Hately against the blue arse cheek at Firhill and doing something similar when Geordie Shaw played for Dundee, again at Firhill.
  22. There is also a bit of incentive for those clubs that qualify for Europe in that they are spared the group stages of the League Cup. Although Motherwell may disagree after last night's result!
