  1. Really enjoyed today . We're trying to play a very unscottishlike way I.e passing . Thought the move just before half time we started from our own corner flag was sublime . Calm , crisp short triangle passes , superb . Draw them out then a zipping pass from Paton to completely slice him open . That boy has improved immeasurably . Always liked his workrate and effort but now he's added a good final ball to his game . Like the balance althrough the squad with mostly young hungry players . Our defence hasn't really been tested yet but have done well so far . Excellent
  2. Couldn't agree more , one of my biggest bug bears . The roar from the crowd and subsequent chanting is all that's ever needed . Why play some Amarillo esque pish over the tannoy to drown it out ? Have sent an email to Stacey saying as much .
  3. Woody was mobbed today , great atmosphere . Only 2 bar staff , beer shit but you can't beat it on a Saturday .
  4. Think the greaves flag would look good over everyone's head . We did it a few a few seasons ago inthe jh think it was Dundee game. I'll take a few pictures from the jh .
  5. Will the "greaves" flag be available tomorrow? I'll bring the woody jags flag but I'll have to give it to someone as my son isn't allowed in to the north stand .
  6. Wasn't there today but can imagine the Pish your talking about . My major bug bear with the support for years and it really has a negative affect on the players especially in the smaller grounds . Some people aren't happy unless they're moaning
  7. It will probably be cheaper to go to ibrox next season than firhill so don't see us getting any of their fans other than the one's who already watch the odd thistle game . I assume there is a limit to what you can charge each division so it might cost just£15 to go to ibrox . They'll probably do some child schemes as well and more rangers fans might be inclined to take their kids .
  8. Completely agree Iain , can't believe that fans (many of whom have been going for decades) are willing to stop supporting and ultimately allow their club to die over an issue involving another club and how the authorities deal with them . Some are threatening to leave even if the board say no but the authorities say yes . Would these fans be making such a hysterical stand if it didn't involve the old firm ? Can't imagine this reaction if everyone was bending over to accommodate Albion rovers . The bottom line is board personnel , sfa/sfl figures come and go . Corruption , dodgy deals happen all the time but the one thing that keePs the game alive is the supporters supporting their club . Where was the protests for the unfair tv deals , 11-1 voting , one promotion place , Dundee going into admin twice . Why should clubs die because rangers get preferential treatment . Their very existence creates a rivalry , something to hate . I remember fondly most games against the OF win or lose , the atmosphere , underlying threat of violence and on the rare occasion we got a result absolute joy . Certainly more exciting than a home game with Cowdenbeath . I enjoy watching thistle and would not give that up and allow them to die in protest against rangers . We could all find something else to do on a saturday but passion for a football club is difficult to recreate it's a unique feeling . We could pick and choose to travel the country and watch different teams but what a soulless existence with no real feeling for anything .
  9. A great day , lost in final 2 years running , at least I get my monies worth . Cheers Charlie for letting my boy play and score a goal , he was absolutely buzzing and was still going on about it tonight . Is telling everyone he now plays for 2 teams when I told him this team only plays once a year he said "I know" . A great day and the penalty kicks were a great idea .
  10. Shiver down my spine when I realised promotion against Forfar was twenty years ago . Great piece on ptfc.co.uk brought back memories of an amazing season . Defeat at home to Dundee , was a bit angry that day and went for some hooligan action ( couldn't fight sleep , but some adrenalin rush when your 17 ) , away day at Montrose seem to remember a thistle fan on the roof of the main stand that day , the anti-climax of the meadowbank game but what an atmosphere and the sheer insanity of the Forfar game , ground full of jags fans ( both sides of the fence ) . Happy days
  11. Is pie and beans on at the aitken suite tomorrow ?
  12. Applied the first day it was on website . Never got a reply either way .
  13. Always thought it was a great name . Used to love it getting chanted from the back of the old shed when things got a bit rowdy . Nnnnnnnnggggeeeeee!
  14. Should be worth a shot . I think the under 16 's rule should be changed though maybe under 12 if at all . I remember being in the old shed aged 14 / 15 and the atmosphere was the one thing that kept me coming back . The youngsters should get a taste of this and hopefully get a sense of belonging , singing and shouting with their Mates .
  15. Much prefer the Gaelic commentary . At least I don't understand the guff the commentators are coming out with
  16. Can't believe I forgot Geordie shaw
  17. Based on players I've seen Walker Law Paterson Irons McLaughlin Craig Charnley Cameron Mcglashan Roberts Lindau Subs - Calum Campbell, lennon , Britton , grant.
  18. Ross McCall , no longer together I think.
  19. Hopefully the spl will endorse 5g pitches soon . If it's deemed good enough for the champions league. With the rugby away then firhill could become a real hub for the community. Boys and youth teams are screaming out for facilities and games could be Played before kick off on matchdays Without damaging the pitch.
  20. Remember going solely to see Adamski and he didnt turn up. Killer had just came out and i was 15. But i remamber seeing The Chimes and Deacon Blue at the green and Wet Wet Wet and Texas with a very young and sexy Sharleen Spiteri in George Square.
