Jim TJF has zero role in the hiring or firing of a manager. Please stop peddling this nonsense

Listened to the game on BBC, the commentators were very positive about our play till about 5 minutes after we scored, in their words we started playing like we had won it, no chasing, no shape, no urgency. They questioned our attitude as it’s clear players have ability. These are games we shouldn’t be losing, yes we may come up against a small team who parks the bus, keeper plays a blinder and they snatch a one goal victory from us, basically because we’ve peppered their goal but can’t get it in. That though isn’t what happened, it seemed we were out played, out thought, and ultimately out scored by 3 goals to 1. Your not unlucky losing a game by that score to a lower league team, your poor. Doolan needs to ditch the ones he keeps playing who aren’t performing and utilize a system that fits the players, we have 31 of them. On current trajectory he won’t last next 5 games unless he changes things

Jim there’s been a rolling program of maintenance for last year, and as has been stated by the board will continue.

The office staff is a fraction of our costs, those figures were given at the AGM

Cut costs where if not the playing squad?

Other clubs ensure the SLO is present outside the away games to help direct fans and answer questions or deal with issues, not sure if we do that

Jim I tried to be reasonable in my post towards you, and also explain the true position, I’m either not communicating it clearly or it’s being lost in the noise of the thread, basically The Jags Foundation does not run the club, there is no shadow board. I’ll touch on a couple of your points, then I’ll get back to my Saturday which unfortunately means me having to do a half shift at my normal job, prior to listening to the game. TJF did not “put” a board member onto the interview panel, that insinuates we insisted on it and forced it to happen, we were asked by the club board to have someone there, with experience of that situation and as a fresh perspective, it also ensures that interviews are fair and avoids nepotism, we agreed to the clubs request. We do not have a veto on the budget, PTFC trust has all vetoes of which TJF is one of the trustees, this is part of the club-trust agreement written between the club and trust and accepted by the beneficiaries with no objections. TJF is not always right, we’ve got things wrong, whether comms, merch ideas, decisions or event ideas, we acknowledge that, we welcome feedback from our members (good and bad), and ultimately we can be removed by our members based on that, it’s a democratic organization. If a tranche 2 comes up, beneficiaries vote to accept or reject it, this is enshrined in the CTA, TJF do not decide, season ticket holders, Jags Trust members, 71 club members and TJF members vote on that, and their decision carry’s. We do not appoint a chairman to the club board, the club board do that, we do though have a chair on our board. We do not have the contacts in business? Is that related to club board or TJF, on club board they most definitely do, especially when you look to Elliot and Donald’s background, on TJF it’s not our role to have those contacts in business as our contacts need to be our members, but you may find some of us have significant contacts in business but as they have a touch point with what we are actually paid to do we need to tread cautiously when suggesting or hinting for them to look towards a championship club in Glasgow, but trust me we do shine a light on the club, both locally and internationally. I’ll leave it now and get back to working out my NMI savings next year I need to present on Thursday Enjoy todays game

Jim, I can’t agree with anything you’re saying here, what you are stating just isn’t the truth. The TJF of which I’m a member and an elected board member is not controlling the board or the club, we make requests on some things, just as the club make to us, we don’t get all our requests neither do the club towards us, it’s a partnership where we try to help each other for the common good of the club, same happens with DSA, they ask for things or help with club and if it sits correctly with the club and can be done it’s approved if not it’s declined and it goes both ways. Having over 1800 members and contributing directly £200k annually to the club, gives us the advantage that our voice may be heard easier, but also for the club we can pull on 1800 people as a resource for the club, whether it’s to help on a project or to gain views or to do some basic admin or even just to get a social media post to a bigger audience. It’s a collaboration and exactly what fan ownership should be. If our membership and contributions grow, then by default the club grows, both financially and in engaged fans.

Partick Thistle 🔴🟡Vs Greenock Morton 🔵⚪️ - Saturday 3 August
Norgethistle replied to jagfox's topic in Main Jags forum
The big issue for me yesterday was lack of movement. Whether Milne or Wasari went forward there was no one to pass to, hence we ended up going long which suited Morton. Midfield was missing till Banzo came on. Defensive wise we played ok going forward was poor, with neither winger at the game and Graham getting no service bar long high balls punted at him, can understand why keeper (who I thought played good) went long, as he had fear playing ball out short would result in Milne or Wasari loosing possession when trying to get forward as no out ball. -
1921 they bumped the admission price up significantly (for that era) resulting in fans staying away

Had the possibility to be a very good player but got wound up too easily by players and fans. Think he got red carded against us with Livi when our fans wound him up. That stupid free kick against Ayr nearly killed the club, putting us for our first time into 3rd tier so soon after save the jags

Squad For 24/25 Season (And Signing Rumours)
Norgethistle replied to Fawlty Towers's topic in Main Jags forum
But can he play right back? -
They in return rent out lesser Hampden to Scotland for training etc, so possibly cost neutral. It’s very bizarre what happened there. Queens park sell Hampden and move out, and spend money on basically a top end training ground. Scotland don’t have a training ground, and Queens park don’t have an adequate ground to play championship games in. Although money and ownership has swapped, status quo is restored as to where Queens Park play and Scotland train

It’s way more than £150k in total across the 3 bodies, it’s £179k guaranteed and budgeted income. We want to do more, this is before sponsorships or hospitality take overs as we’ve done previously which we hope to do again Its a donation so not taxable, our subs are £10 a month of which £9 is a donation to TJF We are just about 300 away from this target

At the The The Jags Foundation AGM the members voted to increase funding to the club to the following levels for this season:- - £12,500 a month to Partick Thistle FC - £2,000 a month to Thistle Youth Academy - £5,000 per season to Partick Thistle Women's FCs Effectively putting just shy of £15,000 a month to the club in guaranteed, regular and budgeted payments. We want to do more though, more for the club, more for the community, and more members events. We are launching “Project 2K” where we aim to drive membership up to 2000 members, and we need your help. - If you have not joined, please do. - If you are unsure, please reach out to one of the 9 current board members. We are happy to talk through any doubts you have or answer any questions. - If you are a member but have mates who are not, try and get them to sign up, and as above if they want to talk to one of us, have them contact us. The club are supporting this drive as not only does it generate more revenue, it increases the democratic voice of the fans. Fan ownership at Thistle is already doing really well, we have the opportunity to make it even better and ensure “Thistle are Rising Again” If anyone has any questions DM me, I’m also happy to call folk back if needed, if they’d rather talk through it. 🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪🇧🇪

There’s a new ticketing system coming in which will make it easier to buy tickets, hence the slight delay

playoffs 23/24 Rovers (3) 🔵⚪️ vs Jags (3) 🔴🟡 Rovers win on penalties
Norgethistle replied to jagfox's topic in Main Jags forum
Absolute nonsense, several of our players were dead on their feet by the end having played over 11 hours of competitive football in 14 days, Fitzy was cramping up at the end. There’s barely been any recovery time for the team in that schedule. Those with the legs stepped up and should be applauded for that, big Ricco was a fraction of an inch from that going in of the inside of the post rather going out from inside of post. The greats of the game on the world stage have all missed penalties otherwise penalty shootouts would last hours.- 355 replies

Raith rovers game bring friend for £10
Norgethistle replied to Third Lanark's topic in Main Jags forum
RAITH had us sussed, doubled up on Fitzy and stopped our wing play and ended our threat till we went 3-5-2. The goal a mistake by Neilson losing his man, their only other 2 attempts were 2 goalkeeper errors, coming out then stopping and getting left in no man’s land, and the poor kick out from a poor back pass. We could have sneaked a point at the end but it would only have papered over cracks. 2 center half’s out no decent keeper with 1 injured, with 1 just returned from injury Back up striker injured I honestly think he needs to start getting Stanway and MacKenzie and Diack more into the team, as currently it’s stale and lack of competition isn’t helping. Our form isn’t only abysmal it’s worrying as we may not only be 1 point from falling out the playoffs after Saturday but could also be only 8 points away from falling into the wrong playoff if results go wrong.
