  1. We scraped out of this league all those years ago with a fortunate victory over Peterhead. I’d be happy to repeat this, then build next season. Of course we are not a good team but neither are any of our opponents and the teams at the foot of the Championship aren’t any better (Clyde beat Ayr). So, thinking logically, we have a good chance of promotion. McCall’s position can be considered at the end of the season no matter where we end up.
  2. Penrice. He may not be brilliant. But why is he not in the team? Why can’t Cardle play like that when he starts? He was a wee magician and earned us a point which should have been 3.
  3. If we can squeeze 3 points here, surely McCall will realise his best starting team and those who are either garbage or who let the team down consistently.
  4. Now you’ve taken that too far!
  5. How many subs are we allowed these days?
  6. That MacIver is not too clever. He’d be the 1st to go.
  7. It could be that Banzo considers himself ‘the gaffer’ as he clearly was in our promotion season. He was easily the best player in the league. It could be that, with Docherty taking on that role, he possibly subconsciously lost confidence. He certainly didn’t contribute what was required by his team mates. The last few games, he has again showed that he is way above this level and has been bossing matches. Lets hope this continues when Doc comes back.
  8. McCall must have been watching the rugby with mass changes. I was conflicted between giving Airdrie a real doing(it could have been 6 or 7) by maintaining control through not changing the system or substituting our best players to keep them fresh and injury free. worked out ok but it would have boosted our confidence if we had won 7-1.
  9. It remains stressful to pay money to get into the stream. An easier system is required urgently.
  10. And Graham appears finished. I hope he proves me wrong.
  11. The central defenders have been fairly steady. No issues with Sena, McKenna, Btownlie and Bremen was ok. The keeper seems fine also. But we lack creativity and pace. We need someone to make a difference in midfield and the ‘final third’ which is why he signed Erskine. I hope Cardle can continue his form of yesterday and that Rudden can shake things up. I’m disappointed with Penrice and Gordon who both look like footballers but rarely contribute to any goal threat. And Murray is a waste of a jersey.
  12. This is the most inaccurate post I have seen for a long time. I appreciate he has some learning to do but he’s arguably been our best player all season, at worst one of our best. it’s extraordinary that you are singling him out for criticism.
  13. We couldn’t retain possession. They had all the pressure but very few clear cut chances because Sena and Brownlie strangled their attack, winning headers, tackles and stepping in to blunt attacks. We need to look at why we cede possession so easily. Banzo certainly had pass marks but the rest were woeful and Graham just looks like a grumpy cart horse. Murray can go now.
  14. Oh dear. They were far better Sena mom though despite his miss . He looks fit, strong and learning all the time. Cardle made a huge difference. That Murray is very poor.
  15. Get on with it! They should be starting this Saturday no matter how many games they’re playing. The women are better organised!!
  16. we certainly need to clear out a top heavy management team. Why we need 3 managers is beyond me, none of whom appear to be doing a good job. Or are they just getting in each other's way? If we can get rid of Scally and Archie it would reduce our wage bill massively. Just let McCall get on with earning his 'good wage' Come on Ayr, come for them!
  17. If the season restarts(say mid March), will they extend the transfer window?
  18. It would be utter folly to sign McDaid( or anyone). It is highly likely that we won’t play again this season. We should be trying to offload if possible due to financial stress. Consign ourselves to another season with the garbage but save the club. We aren’t good enough to win the league even if football returns foreshortened. I saw McDaid several times at under 20’s and admittedly he looked good. But so did McCarthy, Wilson, Lamont, Docherty ,McLoughlin and others. Where are they now? He was dreadful in the 1st team and thank God, he left. He’s played against us several times and been subbed most times, contributing nothing. I was delighted to see him in opposition ranks. Please God no!
  19. Covid aside, I can easily recall when there was no football for at least 3 weeks due to the Scottish freeze up. Straight back into action. It’s nonsense that they would need additional time off. Get on with it!
  20. Nothing would surprise me with the clowns that run our game and the self interest of all the clubs, especially the wee diddy clubs that proliferate the 3 lower divisions. Of course we have been dreadful in the last few seasons but rewind 2 or 3 years and St Mirren could have been in our position. My Buddy supporting pal wouldn’t be so pompous. We’ve been very unlucky to be in this position and the way we’ve been treated by most of our peers and the miscreants at the SPFL, every step of the way, threatens our existence. If they wind up the season and go to the playoffs, we shall again be disadvantaged in a similar manner to last year as if we win our game in hand we’d have been in the play off positions. Surely they can’t decide the season after 10 games played. Or can they?
  21. That would force Rangers to join the English premiership! Or......perhaps not. Would love to see the look on their faces because the bluenoses are getting very cocky!
  22. I agree totally about summer football. Football in Scotland needs to be totally re-vamped and this would be a logical step. Almost everyone I know supports this. Unfortunately it needs to be well organised and driven by professionals who know what they’re doing. Change is good but only if it’s done well and that lot running Scottish football wouldn’t know where to start.
  23. There’s never any fighting any more. My (grown up) kids don’t believe tales of bedlam. But I ain’t advocating it’s return.
  24. Yes. I certainly don’t recall the navy one !
