I'd like to think that most of the time crowd noise will drown out ever the more vocal of managers so a bit of a non point really. Considering the abuse some fans give some players I suspect a few instructions from their manager is hardly upsetting.

Thanks for that detailed explanation. Much appreciated. To have two trusts whatever the background is nonsensical. The reality is that without direct representation on the board the influence is minimal it appears. Considering the size of the shareholding held by the trusts it's incredible that there is essentially no real power.

I hope Dools has a great season and scores lots of goals. However I'm concentrating on my team. Not Ayr United....or Livvy. You are a footballing genius if you can predict future goals scored by individual players after one game.

So if they do think Caldwell does not fit with their plans, what sort of managerial status will they employ? Nb I think javejag was referring to the board management rather than the football side of things. What I do agree with is that the longer this process takes will and is impacting on signings. Not Caldwells fault I'm sure you will agree....

50 50 would perhaps be sensible for the long term. But if I was the manager and my neck was on the line I think I would ask for as much as I would get. If we seriously want to challenge the two Dundee teams this year we have to commit serious money. Alternatively we don't spend much and hope for the play offs. Dilemna -

Takeover or no takeover the money coming in for Lindsay and Fitzpatrick should enable us to really push for a promotion challenge this season. Or am I being too optimistic? -

3 older players seems reasonable to me. I'd like to think that the manager and his backroom staff know more than us mere fans in terms of stamina, fitness and longevity. Nb does anyone know if Anderson is likely to be back #caldwells dads army lol?

Exactly. A squad has to be balanced age wise for obvious reasons. Easy to be negatively selective but let's see how we perform on the park before minds are made up.

I think I'm right in saying that Ross County conceded very few goals last season.....presumably he must have been doing something right? No doubt the whatabouterry faction will suggest that was all down to the defence....or the other teams were crap.....or he was lucky.

Some forget how utterly ruthless lambie and auld were. It's really not a sport for nice guys. Survival of the fittest like it or lump it. If caldwell succeeds the vast majority of fans will forgive and forget. If he fails we all know what happens. Big season awaits.
