  1. Why be logical when you can stick the boot in. The guys I watch the games with have varying views before a ball is kicked. Some are positive. Some fear the worst.....but each and every one of them retain a degree of hope. They and me don't write the team off irrespective of the opposition. I just hope the team rises to the occasion and we get a key result. Why think the worst?
  2. The defeat wasn't down to storey. Easy to blame him and for the record I think he's useless also but.....the entire midfield including bannigan and spittal were slow and pitiful. Just like Harkins. Cardle created the goal and then disappeared. Anderson looked unfit. Mcginty elliot and penrice avrage to poor. So let's get some balance here. Personally I'd put Slater back probably for Harkins. McDonald has to start. Apart from that I can't see too many changes. QOS have to win. May play into our hands on the counter. One can but hope.
  3. I don't have any problem with anyone shredding Caldwell as a manager. But the personal stuff no matter the frustration is not required. Plenty of room on pie n bovril for that bile. On another note I see some are predicting a defeat against QOS...why? Their record is shocking of late. Perhaps being away from home might actually suit us?
  4. They got pumped 4 nil. Let's hope they play exactly like that.
  5. Doolan stayed on albeit he played behind mansell and Fitzpatrick.
  6. No idea. The manager has a degree of culpability but sometimes your work force is just shit. We were that today. It does look like that MacDonald being out was a bigger factor than I thought. That said our midfield in particular was dreadful. No matter what our league position does not lie. We are not a good team for a lot of different reasons. I'm still clinging on to the hope we will avoid the play offs. After that let the real blood letting begin....
  7. Let's cuts to the chase here. The players were abysmal. They should take the kings shares of the blame. They bottled it for reasons we will never know. Yep storey a major part of the blame game but the entire team were gash. That includes Fitzpatrick who I would excuse due to his inexperience. Easy to blame Caldwell but the players let us down today. Fact.
  8. Why the play offs? No reason why results can't go our way next week.
  9. Utter abject performance from whole team. Ayr deserved to win.
  10. So now we know what we have to do. Beat Ayr at home. How difficult can it be....
  11. The brevity of your response suggests you have no counter argument to a well drafted critique of the season to date.
  12. Well said. There remain a few in the churlish camp. Hopefully next game or two will change that. Unlikely though....
  13. Job not done as yet. Would be mad to think we are over the line yet. This is thistle. I'm just hoping our excellent form continues and it doesn't roll on to the final game....
  14. He has of course no chance of the Scotland job....then again perhaps the infamous PowerPoint presentation may bamboozle the blazers. Maybe after he gets us back up to the SPL ( ducks for cover )
  15. So onwards to Saturday. Who knows what Caldwell will go with. I'm assuming McDonald won't be able to play with concussion? Hopefully an aggressive attack minded team. Cannae wait.
  16. If we do stay up and I'm a little more confident now our away form has been critical. Last 8 away games. Won 4. Drawn 3 lost 1. Best form in the division.
  17. Win on Saturday and we stay up. We are nearly there but not over yet! Another night to celebrate!
  18. My knickers are intact. Just making observations. There has been plenty of false prophesies on here. Which is why I'm not making any predictions tonight. All the best to those going tonight. Alas I have the torture of the radio commentary to endure....
  19. Let's hope we get a result tonight just so you can't trot out that particular statistic. Or do you have a new one in mind if we go above 9th? Let me guess. We draw we go above alloa on goal difference. So 8th. You will day we are 9th equal. We win and go 6th. You will say we are 2 points above 9th. We lose God forbid....well we're 9th. You will then mention 9th in some way from now to the end of the season and into pre season and on into the new season.
  20. Here's a thought. It's not all down to the manager to change tactics. The players can do it. That's what Mcginty did by having the balls to go forward. Liverpool did this at the weekend and scored as the players took responsibility for identifying a defensive flaw......klopp endorsed it. Collective responsibility.
  21. A common trait among most managers. They get it wrong. They react. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. It worked on Saturday unless I'm missing something?
  22. He proactively put on the subs at 45 mins. It was also reactive. Depends how you want to paint it.
