  1. Would say overall, it was a good day for us and it's also a good thing that we're out of the cup, though it pains me to say it. The result on Tuesday coming will tell us a lot and a win would keep me believing. The team that wins this league, may not have to be the best one. It will be the one that has the most belief and the most bottle. If we close the gap at the top to 2 or 3 points with a few games to go, I'd back us to win the league. Arbroath are in new territory and Killie don't impress me much. Do they have the bottle? Not convinced they do. Do we have the bottle? After last year, that's an easy yes from me. Roll on Tuesday.
  2. Always good to hear we played well and sounds encouraging despite the defeat. Let's get up and leave the Cup to next year.
  3. As bad a result was Kilmarnock getting a late winner. Scotland lose the rugby, Killie win and we lose. Most of my worst days as a Jags fan seem to involve Dundee Utd in some way. Erase from memory and win this league. I wonder who Rangers will get next, unless Annan do the unthinkable. Arbroath, Peterhead or Dundee?
  4. I'll be having a nail biting time of it, as people who live in England aren't allowed to purchase the live stream. C'mon the Jags.
  5. Feel Holt could have intercepted the wide pass for their first goal or maybe not?
  6. Have to agree MJ. I'd also add to the positives, although not large at the moment, the 'just out to see a game' football supporter. I've taken many friends to Firhill when up in Glasgow, none of them Thistle supporters and just because we're in Glasgow for a band or something. I'm not sure I'd tempt them to a ground just outside Glasgow and I'm sure many football fans pay Firhill a visit when they're staying in Glasgow. I'm sure any potential play-off crowd would have a couple of thousand additional non Thistle supporting fans at it. Would be terrible if we moved away.
  7. Loading b. was unintentional but I guess my bias is towards grass of any kind. Either 'lovely' and lush or a bit muddy and bouncy. If I'd added a 'c', that read 'stay at Firhill on a muddy pitch', I'd take that over staying on plastic, or moving to lush new pastures. I love Firhill as a ground and if the Bing was sorted, it would do me just fine.
  8. I'm 51 . Was wondering how Jags fans would react given the choice of either; a. Stay at Firhill and play on plastic b. Move away from Firhill and play on a lovely grass pitch I'm unsure myself at this point...
  9. It go go well for us this weekend. Games in hand are never great if you need to win them all but a couple of wins and a draw would put us in a promising position.
  10. All fair comments and I do understand the argument. They're not worth what we'd lose for me though. As an example, and I know penalties have been missed on plastic but I'm sure even at my age, I'd score a penalty against any keeper on plastic. That would not be the case on grass. If all pitches were plastic, there would be professional footballers playing that just would never have made the cut on grass pitches. I know I'm a traditionalist when it comes to this but games on plastic just feel like a training kick about to me.
  11. I feel so strongly about this, that I'd ban them completely to avoid any type of financial reward. I'd never do anything to hurt our team financially, so the bit about not buying a season ticket, is, upon review, just not true. Up The Jags.
  12. You're right FT, it would be no season ticket for me. I can barely take football seriously on an artificial pitch. Maybe we could get a wee roof as well and it would be like futsal. We've had a very nice surface in the past and need to get back to that. An artificial pitch equals artificial football.
  13. Chuckling as I read all this. I had to show the other half some of the comments because she thought Thistle had lost last night due to my shouting. She asked me if all refs were cheating b's or just the ones Thistle get. She then asked if the ref was Willie Colum because that's the one she remembers me calling a cheating B the most.
  14. Time will tell if he's a goal scorer but he's definitely a footballer.
  15. Great result. Will take that all day. The new boy looks good.
  16. Haven't ever seen much worse. This pitch could be our downfall.
  17. The stream and sound quality are poor tonight
  18. Really looking forward to this one - just got the stream. C'mon Thistle!!
  19. Rangers in trouble. Wonder what time their penalty is at today. I'll go with the 57th minute if they haven't equalized by then.
  20. He was unlucky with Forlan, who just did everything but score. Was a very good player who scored many goals before and after United - I seem to remember??
  21. Was thinking that myself. Lol. In saying that, Raith are on BBC Scotland tonight...
  22. Just had a look at the 4 games chosen and for me, the 4 not chosen would make far better viewing. Good news for us though.
