  1. Was sent an email previously from Allan McGraw. All went well and I received a payment from The Jags Pot Society. I'm still owed two footballs and the collection of those hasn't gone as well.
  2. Not sure, think maybe Lawless, took one from the right that was straight to the penalty spot. A slight variation from the in-swinger and we nearly scored from it.
  3. Exactly. You can't act like you mean business, unless you act like a Business. Some would strip the club bare given the chance. Gerry Britton has done a lot for the club and brought in much needed new sponsorship. I attended a night at the club and his customer service team, who were fantastic on the night, seemed to hold him in high regard. No-one spoke about him but he was referred to in a good light, when a question was asked. A sincere thanks for all you've done Gerry.
  4. I wonder if a win on Saturday, could help Doolans' budget for players. Could also be a big crowd on Saturday, which helps too.
  5. Other than the mistake, I thought he played well. His positional play was pretty decent and he had a good sense of where the ball was landing when the Arabs punted it forward.
  6. It replaces pre-season friendlies with competitive games and gives the lower league clubs some revenue, as they get to play 3 or 4 games, instead of being knocked out in the first round. The League Cup proper starts after the group matches and is pretty relevant as far as I'm concerned. I'd celebrate like there was no tomorrow if we won it.
  7. Seems we scored the first goal of the new season. I bet we haven't done that too many time in our history.
  8. Don't want to bock the result but our record in the group stages of this tournament is second to none. Is a good start and hope we keep it going. See the replacement Rangers, (if ever they were needed), have their first penalty of the season. That's Killie btw.
  9. Think you're spot on with this and it can wear you down. Has been the same with Scotland but things are on the up. We're stuck with them, although we know it's our own choice really. Who'd want to support Barcelona and Argentina anyway. It just wouldn't be the same.
  10. Is it not 60 ST's? £20,000 / 330
  11. Think you're right re. some people waiting until late July to renew, I'm one of them. My ST has pretty much been a donation, brought on by the way I felt we were unfairly treated when the league finished early and we got relegated. This will be my 4th ST in a row (and ever), and I've only been to one home game since I bought them. I donate the ticket but hope to get up a bit more next season. I feel other 'new' ST holders have joined for a combination of reasons, good football being one but also to show support to a team (our team), that hasn't been treated well, one way or another. Anyway, I wonder how many ST's have yet to be renewed. I reckon 80% or so, will rebuy before the end of the month. You could add that to the 2,053 ST's already sold and then add a couple of hundred more for first time buyers. Extremely rough calculations I know but I think it won't be far off that.

  13. May well join but I'm in for other things including ST, Centenary and 50/50 on occasion and one might have to go first.
  14. A great idea and they look brilliant.
  15. Maybe we could fill some of those extra spaces by having an unofficial alliance with another PTFC that seem to share some of our values. Portland Timbers FC. Unlike one of our near neighbours, they list integrity as a goal of theirs. An exchange trip to Oregon for the Thistle youth academy etc. It's all a dream. https://www.timbers.com/club/ptfc-way/ Found them while searching for Thistle videos on Youtube
  16. Feel like I've missed something here. What are these 'Thistle Pins' that people keep mentioning?
  17. I'm unsure if you're happy or not that a 1,000 people are paying £10 a month but suspect many of the 1,000, contribute towards other Thistle things too, such as the Centenary Fund, 50/50 draw, season tickets, strips etc. Does this also mean that 500 are paying in a different amount that could also be £0? Genuinely interested as haven't signed up yet and may do so. A general question for anyone that has a view. If I were to 'donate' £10 per month, do the club benefit more, financially, from any particular stream, or is a tenner a tenner? I get that some of the above have prizes to cater for but was wondering the best use of funds in the eyes of fans.
  18. I really do and it's getting worse. Wouldn't have slept thinking about that. He was superb that day, as were the whole team.
  19. Was at that game. Was some performance, with our central midfielder (can't remember his name - left for Dundee Utd I think), running the show.
  20. Watching with interest for the game on 18th Nov. It's the day before Scotland v Norway and would be good if we were at home, for at least two reasons. 1. I'm up that weekend with my Nephew, who's yet to see Thistle at home 2. As Premiership games will be postponed and with many fans travelling to Glasgow for the Scotland match, we could get a few interested neutrals Pretty sure that the last twice this has happened, we've got Inverness away, usually on the Friday night. Maybe one was Falkirk away in that other cup, now I think on it? In any case, can we just be at home on 18th November.
  21. Aye, you'll get Band if you carry on like that
  22. It's brilliant and shows that despite our disappointment (I'm still struggling to overcome this), we are after all, just Thistle fans.
  23. That's a great number so far and I'm sure, like myself, many others will purchase one after the holidays and before the season starts. (See we're now 1,456 sold). A great initiative by Jags for Good that looks set to hit the target also.
  24. Thinking back, I remember thinking that Lawless was hard done by in the season or two before he left. We had him playing out wide with the whole wing to himself. His attitude was immense and the shifts he put in were unreal, as he tried to attack and defend, with no support. It was a real mis-management of his talents and he is now back on his game, with the right players behind and around him.
