  1. Just out curiosity, can anyone tell me how Foxy approached the penalties on Saturday. Did he try any guess which way it was going or stand his ground 'til the ball was struck? As a keeper in my younger days I always favoured the latter and had a really good success rate. I always thought it better to put the onus on the taker to place it and execute it well or I was having it. Fox's penalty record is abysmal and I never feel we're gonna come out on top in a shoot out.
  2. Welcome to Firhill Kenny ! I can't believe the negativity of some fans on this forum. He may be getting on in years but has kept himself at a good fitness level. I think he'll do a similar job to Scott McDonald , i.e., having the experience to nick us goals here and there and coaching our youngsters. Things brewing nicely for the new season. Mon' Jags!
  3. All the very best Kris and thanks for many fine memories over the years. Hope you're banging them in next season, just no against us!
  4. He was alright that bloke, which is what you want on an away day. A good natured laugh and a bit of banter with the stewards and the home keeper if you're behind the goal. No need to be looking for a bit of aggro if the steward tries to stop you going on to the pitch.
  5. On the subject of fans. Maybe it was due to the larger than usual away support, but I was a bit disappointed that they're were a number of 'fans' around me who I would be happy not see at a Thistle game again. The game seemed secondary to them and they were right in the faces of stewards and pushing them in an provocative manner when we scored. These guys are just trying to a do a job to earn some spare cash. Give them a break. Who was the pratt who brought smoke bombs to the game? We're always quick to have a go at Celtic fans for this kind of thing, so leave the smoke bombs at home ya fannies.
  6. I am absolutely sick of trying to use our website for tickets. Is it just me, or has anyone ever managed to get a password reminder from this site? It's not going to spam...just no response whatsoever.
  7. That does surprise me. I thought Jamie Sneddon was head and shoulders above any other Thistle player in terms of performance. Just a well or we could have lost by a few more. In an ideal world Storey shouldn't be near the squad next week in such a crucial game never mind in the team. Caldwell shouldn't be near the squad either but I guess we're stuck with him for now. It's a depressing thought that he be might manager next season as well.
  8. Great save by Jamie Sneddon! Caldwell needs to something.. Shit! Ayr score as I type. Utterly predictable. Wayward passes aplenty from us and no threat up front.
  9. ffs Storey's an absolute donkey. Needs hooked at half time please.
  10. Had to watch the game from the wrong end of the pitch tonight as my mate's wee boy was doing the half time draw. That was a gem of a goal from Shea Gordon. Sean McGinty has had his fair share of stick on this forum from time to time but following on from Saturday I thought he was excellent once again. 6th place! What a difference a couple of wins makes.
  11. Very sad. An epitome of what a club captain should be. RIP Billy.
  12. YAAAAAAASSSSS! Absolute scenes!!
  13. Real feeling of de ja vu as an animated Goodwin directs his men from the touchline in contrast to a Archiesque arms folded Caldwell. This is painful!
  14. Poor start. Nervy defending with the inevitable error giving away what could be a very costly goal. Unless Cardle is injured he should have been on from the start. Alloa looking the more competent side so things must be changed..and soon!
  15. Obviously disappointed that other results elsewhere conspired against us to put us bottom, but I'm not too despondent after what I thought was a pretty decent performance and a point gained against expectations, which strangely didn't seem to be appreciated by some sections of our support. Hope they don't go and see the Thistle on a bad day! Thought our attitude was spot on today and on another day we could have won it. My heart still sinks a bit when Storey comes on and I would love to see Coulibaly get a game as I think he could put away some of the half chances that come our way. That's one point of the seven I thought this morning we would need to avoid the bottom spot but we should be aiming to get another seven minimum from the next four games. If we somehow contrive to lose next to Alloa then quite frankly we deserve our fate and I'll be checking out the seaside destinations for next season and hopefully GC will be checking the situations vacant column. Lovely night here in the Highlands btw. Time for a pint or three!
  16. This is awful. We're just not in this. It needs changed now and not with 20 mins to go if we're to salvage anything from the game.
  17. I'm a bag of nerves over this game already. Win it and we keep the momentum going and I'll feel more confident about staying in this division. Lose it and I fear the worst. Despite the great 3-0 win at the weekend, as Laukat commeted on above, there were times when Morton cut through our defence like a knife through butter. On the other hand we do look more dangerous with the McDonald/Doolan combo up front. 3-2 Jags win then!
  18. I'll second that. Well done Conor. Could easily have been 3-3 at half time. C'mon Jags, still got a job to do here.
  19. Great third goal. Straight off the Tenerife training ground that one!
  20. That's a bit harsh on our keeper. I was more disappointed at the poor clearance out of defence by Banzo that gave the ball back to Falkirk which led to the goal.
  21. Well, we just didn't get the luck on the night, but there wasn't much in it so we can take some positives from our display and hopefully start digging out some points in the league. Not sure what Storey brings to the party these days.
  22. This game ain't over yet. Shame we gifted them a penalty in that way. Would love to see Cardle on soon and see if we can take this game to Hearts in the second half. We're not gonna win it sitting deep that's for sure. So c'mon Jags ..get intae them!
  23. I wish I had your laissez-faire attitude Cotterjag. I can't wait for Tuesday night just to get that game out my system and hopefully the players feel the same. I'm still fizzing this morning at the inability our keeper to catch a ball, Spittal to strike a ball cleanly and with composure, Elliott to judge the required strength of a crossed ball, Caldwell's inability to recognise when Gary Harkness is blowing out his arse and thinking that replacing Doolan with Scott McDonald is a game changing move, and his apparent refusal to play Coulibaly when he's the obvious card to play. Gary Harkness' defensive effort at County's third. lol By the way, is there a fitness program problem at Firhill? Despite a tough midweek cup game County ran us ragged in the second half which is worrying. Yep, roll on Tuesday.
  24. How very sad. Condolences to the family and friends of Stewart. RIP.
