ChewinGumMacaroonBaaaz
Easy one, but great picture of the shed & I'm in there somewhere I've lost too many taps kitting oot 5s teams as the jags and in missionary work overseas. Think this one made it on to the back wall of a pub in Gronnigen, in an intoxicated Jags-fans-every-f**kin-where-hands-across-the-water negotiation with a bemused barmaid, for at least a couple of hours! A classic, timeless rigoot, suitable for any occassion. .... Similarly... Geordie Shaw.... The "Rave-on Bobby Law Culture" connoisseur's answer to Wee Stevie Lawless? ChewinGumMacaroonBaaaz
Anyhoo.... Really just wanted to say thanks again to stuthejag for his truely magnificent site... a wonderful, worthwhile and selfless gift to Jaggydom , that just keeps on giving... Found this on my last browse.... Think it's my first ever game.... I might even be in the frame at the back standing in the enclosure.... No big points for naming the Jag, i'd say... but who are the visitors to Firhill?

jaggy
Jags player, and match? Tough one, not sure of the Jag, but I think the Saint is Lex Richardson. Complete guess for the game is an end of season match around 1979 that we won 5-0?
paralytic thistle
Jags player, and match? Doug Somner and Lex Richardson
Jaggernaut
Doug Somner and Lex Richardson Correct. Want to have a stab at the game?
jaggy
Doug Somner and Lex Richardson I didn't think that was Somner but can see it now

jaggy
Scottish Cup game 0-0? Did we play them at that time Will? I guess it's around 78 or 79 as Dougie left in 79. That's why I guessed the 5-0 end of season game
Members Willjag
Yeah the fact it's Dougie Somner makes me question that.
JeanieD
The 5-0 game was an end of season evening game with a much smaller attendance - of course the fact that both Fitzpatrick and Somner were playing for Scotland "B" team against Italy that night is also a clue that this isn't the 5-0 game.
paralytic thistle
Correct. Want to have a stab at the game? 2-1 game at Firhill

But Fitzpatrick's not in the picture Also, difficult to judge the crowd from the small amount you can see
JeanieD
My mistake Richardson not Fitzpatrick .........both of whom were in Italy on the night of the 5-0. As regards the crowd, the tiny proportion you can see in the pic is, as i recall, out of all proportion to the attendance for the 5 nil game. Although its nice to see a lack of segregation in the pic.......it wasnt all violence and tribalism back then.
Jaggernaut
2-1 game at Firhill That's it. 18 Nov 1978. Melrose, Anderson. Crowd: 10,395 !

Jaggernaut
In case the match is too obscure, a hint: not too long now until the 45th anniversary..... Question: who is the player down injured?
Winter of '63
In case the match is too obscure, a hint: not too long now until the 45th anniversary..... Question: who is the player down injured? John Hansen - I think he took a full blooded shot on his napper. A quick splash with the magic sponge and he was fine.

That's who I thought too. Who's the Jag on the right, bending over? Lawrie or McQuade?
