Third Lanark
But that last time it had been torrential rain for over a whole week before that game. I'm sure the club will let us know if there is any problems regarding weather for this Saturdays fixture. Not having a go at you mate but we need as many supporters can go on Saturday to cheer the team on and not reasons why not to go lol
lady-isobel-barnett
It'll be a different type of rain this time. The rain before the 'Well game wasn't wetting enough till it hit the ground. The rain forecast for Saturday will soak you thru and thru thus leaving less rain on the surface. More of a concern is the snow expected to fall over Drumochter Pass on the A9 that could hinder the County team bus arriving in time, if indeed at all. Normally Neil Doncaster would simply arrange for the SPFL helicopter (kept for very occasional use in May some years) to fly the County team to a clandestine landing area behind the old Springbank Cottage. Unfortunately having lost a bet with Willie Collum that he would be selected for Euro 2016 duty he's promised the prominent whistler, who doesn't ref till Sunday, the use of the chopper on Saturday. Neil Doncaster is of course a grade one pillock. Honestly you couldn't make it up!
kji7
Heavy rain forecast on Friday and overnight however Saturday is to be dry with strong breeze according to BBC and met office, should be enough to dry out the pitch if it is unplayable in the morning. ian_mac
Serious question - why do more clubs not have pitch covers?
Veejag
I asked that question last winter Ian. Never really got a good answer.
ian_mac
It must be cost. Also, the water has to go somewhere, so the drainage systems would probably need investment as well. Still, you'd think that the ability to get games on more often would justify the initial outlay.

Dick Dastardly
Ta. I'll double peg my washing before I head off to Firhill. Times must be hard. In Downton Abbey they have a team of maids to do that.
