allyo
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-40176560 So a new Rangers official has accused Craig Whyte of 'murdering' the club, the institution. Two observations: This is pretty inciteful, dangerous, vindictive, irresponsible language that plays to mob hysteria. But unsurprising from this institution This is a club official acknowledging that the old club is dead

allyo
Third observation, this one unsurprising: Craig Whyte has not been found guilty of a criminal charge, so he's suggesting a brand new law to suit his club's purpose.

lady-isobel-barnett
If anything perhaps we should be questioning why the BBC thought it financially prudent to send a senior reporter to the USA to question Johnston. From what I can gather as it is the real loser to date is the UK taxpayer without adding further expenditure. Who exactly are supposed to be the real losers?
Fearchar
If Whyte hadn't appeared, there is every likelihood that the old Rangers would have gone to the wall - only more quickly. It makes it easier for the then owners and independent board to use him as a scapegoat for their own failings. BTW, talking of wrecking, a more serious, historic Scottish institution, the Bank of Scotland - one of the few companies, if not the only one left, established by Act of the Scottish Parliament - was absorbed into Lloyds Banking Group. Historically, that is like going into a museum and smashing up exhibits in the knowledge that they can be pieced together again: pure vandalism. (A nominal reverse takeover would have been possible.) Echoes of the loss of The Royal Bank of Scotland, established by royal charter, to the National Commercial Banking Group, which then renamed itself The Royal Bank of Scotland plc - and we all know what happened to that reputation! G13 jag
This made me laugh. From BBC gossip page A figure like businessman Craig Whyte, whose tenure at Rangers led Rangers into financial meltdown, will never be allowed to enter Scottish football again, Scottish Professional Football League chief executive Neil Doncaster has vowed.(Daily Record)
Mr Bunny
This made me laugh. From BBC gossip page A figure like businessman Craig Whyte, whose tenure at Rangers led Rangers into financial meltdown, will never be allowed to enter Scottish football again, Scottish Professional Football League chief executive Neil Doncaster has vowed.(Daily Record) Aye right. But convicted tax-dodgers ("glib and shameless liar" - South African judge) like King are OK? No mention of Murray who was responsible for the whole mess? Crooked businessman that he is Whyte was the least of the chancers that inhabited Ibrox.
Paddy Thistle
given the bbc is banned from Ibrox why do they spend so much time fawning over them
