kni
The SFL is a sick joke. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/stirling_albion/9331394.stm "Stirling Albion, their squad hit by flu, have launched a nationwide appeal for free agents and recently retired players to play one game for them. "The Scottish First Division club lost an appeal on Friday to have Sunday's match against Falkirk postponed after nine first-team players contracted flu. "Albion director Paul Goodwin told BBC Scotland: "We only have six outfield players and two goalkeepers. "We have been told to put a game on to protect the integrity of the league." Lindau
and that why I lumped £300 on Falkirk today at 1/3 at Hills. It is a joke. If it had been any of the In Firm even with their massive playing pools, their game would have been off. Pie Of The Month
and that why I lumped £300 on Falkirk today at 1/3 at Hills They've apparently got Witteveen in on trial who was formerly on loan at Morton and Dundee and could get Steven Robb of St Mirren plus another couple of recently released players from the SPL (Currie a youngster from Hibs and Doyle of Kilmarnock). They might end up with a stronger XI than they usually put out.

If they have that many players out with the flu its more likely that most of the squad will be affected to differing degree's. Anyway win or lose, 1/3 was just too good to miss given the circumstances
kni
Albion could offer a game to Martin Hardie to put him in the "shop window"...

lady-isobel-barnett
Talking to a Bino fan today and rightfully he's angry about this. Effectively Falkirk are getting three points handed to them on a plate. Albion should just turn up with 8 players or whoever is fit. It's the SFL that are, not unusually, making a mockery of things. The Earl of Hathaway
Even Steven Lennon being touted to play! Fuxake! They REALLY are up sh*t creek. Right, Falkirk to win 8 - 1 with Stevie Lennon as first scorer!
Tom Hosie
Strange that the SFL didn't agree to Stirling's request for a postponment when they allowed our match with St Johnstone in 2006 to be postponed in near identical circumstances. The fixture backlog going against Stirling perhaps? We beat St Johnstone when the match was finally played and St Johnstone missed out on promotion on the last day of the season. Had it been played on its' original date they would most probably have won and they and not Gretna would have been promoted.
sigesige00
I've never got flu. Perhaps some people are naturally weak against or strong against flu. In my opinion the football season should start in spring and end in autumn. In winter we can enjoy indoor sports like futsal or basketball. It's often been said that McConologue used to play for that elusive 'hole in one' on Sarurday nights in Clatty Pats.
