not sacked due to the lineswoman thingy but apparently down to asking a female co-presenter to stroke his microphone which was planted/tucked down his crotch a month ago :shok:

proper old school dinosaur - probably drives a Jag and hates cyclists too!

Yeah and I remember a few kiss and tell stories in the paper from a few of his conquests who all stated that his microphone was a tiddler...haha!!

The original comment was textbook sexism - she can't do the job because she's a woman. It was a patently stupid remark shown up by the linesman/woman/person calling a difficult offside decision correctly.

I did think that it was a bit strange that this footage found it's way into the public domain...I guessed that someone in Sky Sports, part of Rupert Murdoch's Media Empire, held a grudge against Gray or Keays...even stranger when another piece of footage of Gray was released. It was as if someone was out to get him.

By an amazing coincidence, there have been newspaper reports that Andy Gray has been pursuing court action relating to alleged phone-hacking against the News of the World, part of Rupert Murdoch's Media Empire.

Draw your own conclusions.

aye he's a ****** but like someone said about soccer am, tubes etc is talking about being elbow deep in georgie thompson's box and they are allowed to get away with that, gray says women dont know the offside rule and gets the sack  . get jim shyte and charlie mate back together.

Never thought bout Soccer AM but you guys have a great point. What I have been thinking of is that Andy Gray is sueing the NOTW due to having his phone taped. Who owns the NOTW ? Who owns Sky ? Ever get the feeling Mr Murdoch had a vendetta against Mr Gray ?

What he said was stupid but to get the sack over it...c'mon, give me a break.

Quite pleased that Gray is gone, to be honest. Not for the stated reasons, but simply because he went from an enthusiastic co-commentator to someone who thought they were the star of the show. He'd actually talk down the efforts of the players and, as someone who played their last games a goalie, he would never give the keeper any credit for a great save. It'd be either an easy height, or they were just doing what they were paid to do. When a striker did what they were paid to do, he's be all over them. Recently I'd taken to watching the games, but with the sound turned down whenever he was on.

Top Man along with keys.Murdoch(guy who hates sexism so much he's happy with page 3 in his newspaper and all sorts of porn channels) was out to get him

As with dallas.there was an agenda at work there sexism/sectarianism in both cases was just being used as a moral cover for there scalps.I don't think anyone is fooled that andy gray being sacked is some great step forward for woman in this country it's not or dallas going turns the tide against deep rooted sectarianism in the west of the scotland

It's just the 24 hour news media getting there man at the end of the witch hunt

I'd like to think that the sexist stuff, credible as it might sound, was simply an excuse for the real reason: that AG is dangerously boring. He's the Sid Waddell of football; both of them have a unique talent for thoroughly diminishing your enthusiasm for the main event before it gets underway.

Andy Gray's true niche is probably in convincing euthanasia patients in Swiss clinics that they're doing the right thing - not in broadcasting.

We all know that the offside rule is a Gray area, but if I never hear another televised word from the man it will be decades too soon.

PS I've never really forgiven the twat for scoring a hat trick against us on a freezing Saturday afternoon in the mid-70s and making legend, Alan Hansen, look like a newly born goat (which he did, btw).

The fact that the involvement of ONE woman in MENs football has resulted in this tells us that women are nothing but trouble - but then we all knew that. Can we get back to the game please?

Women refs and linesmen should stick to women's sporting events and we wouldn't be having this debate. Look at how this has become blown out of all proportion.

Seems though that Gray never learned from fellow Scot Gordon Brown to turn off his mic.

Has anyone ever thought for a moment that the reason she kept her flag down for the said incident is that she didn't know the offside rule in order to apply it? Just another theory

It's a bit much to blame her for this.

Can't say I'm bothered he is back, never liked him much as a commentator anyway, his constant selling of the Premiership and all who play in her being the best thing on the planet gets a bit tiresome. My only fear is that Redknapp will be promoted from ruining the analysis to ruining the actual game itself.
