Nice work whoever put it up on the OS but can I point out it's a "youthful" team not just a "useful" one.

I am surprised that squad players who have not played much, if at all, in friendlies are not playing tonight, e.g. Colin Stevenson, Ryan McBeth and Chris Ketterer.

I assume that, with Wightman on the bench, we are no longer interested in Derek Gaston who has been on trial from Albion Rovers.

Good point. I appreciate that Stevenson may not yet be fit to play but what's happening with Ketterer and, in particular, MacBeth?

I thought that Kyle Lochhead was training with us to try to get a new deal. He's another absentee that I expected to be in tonight's squad.

Yeaay! 1-1. Penalty taken by Burns.

Just adding: a bit worried myself too about missing youngsters, in particular that MacBeth doesn't seem to have appeared much in preseason. Before his injury spells he'd looked to me like the most promising of the young players starting to come through.

Maybe he and some of the other players mentioned will make an appearance in the CC game?

DRAT!

4-1 Dumbarton. Pity but not too much of a shock considering it was basically boys and trialists playing. Hope it was a worthwhile exercise and one or two who played showed they contribute to the real team.

Wait and see what the first Just-inner says.

No panic. Dumbarton were wind assisted in the second half! Others might come on with doom and gloom, but was a typical friendly.

Think it shows though there we should not be looking to rely too heavily on the youngsters. Some of them would be better off playing under 19 and reserve football for the time being.

We can't afford any "passengers" on full-time wages.
