kni
Richard Offiong is playing for Blyth Spartans on a short-term contract. He had an excellent scoring record for Accies before joining Carlisle. Still only 27. Thoughts? Edited November 8, 2011 by kni
jagfox
Offiong is a proven scorer at this level. Not sure if we have space in the squad or the necessary budget to sign him.
twinny
Both would do the job, perhaps we'd have the budget to sign either in January when our loan players leave? We'd be up a striker and down a defender or defensive-midfielder though.

kni
Offiong is a proven scorer at this level. Not sure if we have space in the squad or the necessary budget to sign him. Â Blyth Spartans are bottom of the Conference North and are getting less than 500 for home games. Offiong must be playing for buttons. twinny
Our strikers have been so far back of late that they and the midfielders appear interchangeable. Â Well, look at who our strikers are: Â Doolan - someone who works best as a support striker that we've pushed into a main striker role (who admittedly filled that well in the second half of last season). Elliot - A winger who can play as a striker. Erskine - an attacking midfielder. Stewart - an attacking midfielder/forward. Â Also, in recent years we have played Donnelly and Roberts who were signed as midfielders in attack. I'm sure there were others in recent times. Either out and out strikers are impossible to find at our level or just with our wage offerings.
Guy Incognito
Whilst I would love to see Offiong playing for us would he really make much difference if our midfield persists with its collective crab impersonation? Â After Saturday's performance I would also say that a decent centre-half should be a priority too. Offiong must be playing for buttons. Seems a weird one. I know he didn't exactly do that great in the SPL but he certainly appeared good enough the season Accies got promoted. Hard to believe he's playing for Blyth while Lucas Akins is getting a regular game at Tranmere. I know Offiong is from Geordieland so maybe it suits him to be playing locally . Â Never been too sure about Samuel. Not exactly noted for his hard work. Edited November 8, 2011 by lady-isobel-barnett
ACAB
Providing you're not looking for your main centre forward to chip in with a few goals then Samuel could be a good signing. He can unsettle a defence but we won't be signing him unless he agrees to take his wages in jumble.
Lindau
Dickie Offilong would be a great signing, but as we have been told millions of times....WE HAVE NAE MONEY!!!

Depends on who we can offload or put out on loan in January to free up some wages.
McKennan
Samuel is far too inconsistent/has flattered to deceive for years. A magician. No thanks.
The Mighty Quinn
Samuel is far too inconsistent/has flattered to deceive for years. A magician. No thanks. tend to agree with this post. big things were expected of him when he left falkirk for dundee utd and nothing came out of it. he's too lazy and doesnt care enough. the type of player who infuriates me. you need to be a battler in our division and he has no battling qualities whatsoever
Alan Murray
I hope we will continue our policy of signing young players with potential. Â Think Jackie will be looking for a forward with physical presence and central midfielder.
